The most beautiful flower ever I saw
The delicate and magnificent columbine
Nothing on earth as graceful exists
Except for the girl I wish were mine

Five inner petals and five outer spurs
Sometimes honeycombed and sometimes open
Either way the beauty can never be denied
And is the symbol of the one I have hope in

On the mountains so high; near the clouds
is the flower that has bloomed even as the snows fell
And far above this simple and humble soul
Lives the girl whose heart blooms just as well

To reach out and pick such as this
Is a crime and carries a penalty
But every time I look at it
I want to draw it near me

The sight and the smell
The flowing lines and colors
Its tenderness and glory
Is above all others

So instead I stand there all day
And watch as she dances in the wind
Who can help but be mesmerized by her
I can't tear my eyes away
even if it's a sin

Beautiful columbine you are
the end of my heart's tiring quest
I can find no greater sweetness
You are simply the best
