"Kyaaa! I can't believe summer break is already here!!!"

Hinata smiled at Ino's antics. She looked so excited. But then again, everyone was. Summer was there in Konoha in all of its heated glory and everyone was busy making plans for their summer break.

"Ne, Sakura where are you going for summer break?" Tenten asked, who herself was going to a special Judo and Martial arts camp in Tokyo and seemed very happy.

"I'm going to visit my Aunt in Tokyo." Sakura announced "Maybe I'll even go to see Tenten!"

"What about you Ino?" Temari asked, who had told them she was going to Sand Country with her siblings to visit their father. Hinata thought she did not look very happy contemplating the idea.

"Oh I'm going to Hawaii with my parents. I know I'm going to love it. Beaches and hot boys, what else could I want?"

Hinata giggled at Ino's statement while Tenten, Temari and Sakura rolled their eyes. "Enough about us Hina, where are you going for these vacations?"

"I'm going to visit my family with Neji. America." Hinata told them.

"Oh, do you have any plans for America?" Temari asked.

"I'm going to be working as an intern in my family's company for the summer job?" Hinata said, as if not sure if that was fun.

"You're going to work in a company that's yours in a year or two as an intern?" Sakura asked.

"Yeah, that's how things work in Hyuga. We don't favor people for their rank or relations. I'm no exception."

"Wow. Is Neji going to work there?" Tenten asked.

"He does every year." Hinata giggled, remembering when it had been Neji's first time working as an intern, last year. He had been a disaster. He had broken a guy's nose for flirting when Hinata came to see him in the office.

The results were not pretty. "That seems nice." Sakura said, half heartedly "I wonder where Sasuke-kun is going for the holidays?"

"I have no clue." Ino said, while the senior girls shrugged. Hinata walked towards her locker, where the culprit was standing with Naruto yelling something in his ear.

"Let's not go there. I have had enough of them at the moment." Sakura said, also catching sight of the two boys.

"I agree." Said the girls as they walked away before the boys could see them and a certain blonde could head for Hinata.

"Neji Ni, are you ready?" she asked, walking into his room.

Neji was walking out of his bathroom, two shirts in hand as he walked to his bed which had the suitcase. He smiled. "Kami Hina, calm it down. We're not leaving until tomorrow night."

"I know. I'm just so excited. I can finally see Hanabi again." Hinata said, falling on his bed, smiling absurdly.

"What about Kenneth?" Hinata stopped when he mentioned him for a second before shrugging.

Neji's mouth held a bitter taste at the mention of her ex boyfriend. He had never liked that brunette anyways. He was happy when they broke up, of course he did not tell Hinata that.

He did not have to though. Hinata knew how her family discouraged her relation with Ken and she knew why now. Sasuke had always been there in their minds. She had broken up with him a few weeks before they moved, hurting him and herself in the process.

"When's the housekeeper arriving again?" Hinata asked instead.

"Someone called Ko. Tonight." Neji told her and proceeded to pack.

"Why are you packing so much when you know mother is going to make you buy a whole new wardrobe?"

"That's why I am going to stay close to Uncle Hiashi all summer." Neji smirked. Oh yes, he had thought it through.

"You are one evil person if you leave me alone with her." Hinata told him. He shrugged and she threw a pillow at him.

"Aren't you going to miss your boyfriend though?" Neji asked, sour about her dating Naruto. He didn't think anyone was good enough for his baby cousin.

"Hey, we'll see each other again. Plus we have our phones and stuff." Hinata told him. Neji rolled his eyes. If it weren't for Naruto really liking his cousin, he would bash his face in.

"I still don't like him. Are you going anywhere though?" he asked her before she left.

She nodded. "The girls decided to meet up before we all left for our break."

"Have fun." He said, sighing because he had packing left.

"I will. You should come too." She said. He shook his head. "Not a chance with all this left to do."

"I quote 'we're not leaving until tomorrow night'."

"Easy for you to say. I have other things to pack too." He said as he dismissed her, walking to the bathroom. Hinata stuck her tongue out at him, hoping he did not see before running away, unaware of her cousin's face softening at her childish antics.

Sasuke flipped the channel of the television as he sat on the couch, eating crisps. His mother was out meeting another friend and his father was not home, as usual. School was over at last and tomorrow would be the start of his first day of summer break. Sasuke had big plans for the summers.

He was going to sleep. A lot. All that basketball and fan girls did not leave him enough time to sleep and time for himself so he was not going anywhere this summer, instead choosing to lounge around while his friends decided to waste their respective summers on something else.

He smirked when he finally reached the American wrestling channel. Good thing his mother was not home. He was just about to turn the volume up when the doors leading to the lounge opened.

"Sasu-chan!" came a loud shriek and Sasuke groaned. Please no. Please don't let it be...

The culprit wrapped her arms around Sasuke and he felt his eyebrow twitch. "Izumi...what a...surprise." He growled out, turning to look at his brother who was walking to the couch smugly.

"I am your brother's fiancé. Me coming here can't be that big of a surprise, right?" she asked as she sat down beside him while Itachi sat on her other side, arm around her shoulder.

"What the hell are you both doing off from work anyway?" Sasuke said while trying to loosen Izumi's hold on him.

"We had a break." Itachi said at the same time Izumi said "Your brother couldn't wait to get me alone."

Sasuke groaned at the mental image. "Kami, Izumi that's too much information. God." He said, covering his ears as Izumi smirked at achieving her goal of getting under his skin while embarrassing Itachi, who blushed slightly.

"What? You have a fiancé too, surely you must think of ways to get her alone."Izumi said, smirking like Itachi.

"Fortunately I have not lost my mind yet." Sasuke said, turning to change the channel because Izumi would tell his mother he was watching wrestling again.

"You mean unfortunately, you have not fallen completely in love yet." Izumi corrected him.

"I wouldn't call that unfortunate actually." Itachi said, earning a slap from Izumi on his arm. "Ow, I was just kidding. It's the best feeling ever, happy now?"

She smiled satisfactorily. "So where is Hinata chan? Don't you guys have plans to spend summer break together?"

"Just because you both are lovesick does not mean everyone else is too. We have our own lives." Sasuke told her, giving up on his hope of relaxing as long as she was there.

"I get it, so you want me to plan something for you guys?" Izumi said, wriggling her eyebrows suggestively "Obviously, I'd suggest the hotspri..."

"Izumi." Itachi cut in loudly before Sasuke's eyebrow could twitch any further "Could you find a snack for me? I'm actually really hungry."

"Seriously? Didn't we just eat at the office?" she asked, turning to him, her long ponytail swinging.

"Uh-I didn't eat that much actually. Just do me a favor and get me something?" he asked in his special pleading voice that always got her to agree.

"Fine I'm going." She said getting up and walking over to the kitchen.

"Sasuke, what's up with you and Hinata?" Itachi asked.

"What? Nothing's wrong. We're perfect fiancés, in love. Whatever you wanna call it." Sasuke said, flipping the channel.

Itachi pressed the off button and gave Sasuke a look proving he was not dumb.

"Itachi, I don't know what you guys want okay? We're doing what we were told, what else?" Sasuke asked.

"Sasuke, this is supposed to be for you. Make you happy. She's a lovely girl." Itachi said.

"We're happy." Sasuke spat.

"I'm not that dumb. At first I thought it was only you guys being shy but yesterday I saw her walking around with Naruto....holding hands."

"So? Friends hold hands."

Itachi raised his eyebrow and Sasuke sighed, finally giving in. "Listen Itachi, this was not the most ideal situation, alright? If she likes someone, I'm not going to stop her. I...think it's for the best."

Itachi leaned back on the couch. "Alright Sasuke."

Sasuke looked at him, surprised. Itachi was...alright with this? That was unexpected.

Itachi apparently caught up to his look of surprise because he added. "I don't approve of whatever is going between you two Sasuke, but I do love you and I will support whatever you choose to do."

Sasuke sighed again. He also leaned back on the couch. He thought of Hinata inexplicably and turned to say something when Izumi walked in with a tray. She sat down and immediately Itachi started to give her sappy lovesick looks which made Sasuke groan.

This was going to be long evening.
_____
"Why isn't anyone here to get us?" Hinata asked, slightly crestfallen, as they sat in the cab headed home. They had just come from the airport.

"I can't seem to contact anyone. I wonder what's wrong." Neji wondered out loud.

"Just shows how much they're waiting for us." Hinata rolled her eyes. Neji noticed her and tried to cheer her up.

"Hey...it's no big deal. Let's get ice cream on the way and not get them any." Hinata broke into a smile and Neji smirked along.

So they grabbed some ice cream on the way and they reached the Hyuga residence in America. It was a huge 5 storey building, in the richest part of New York. The doors were opened by the doorman as the servants rushed to take Hinata and Neji's luggage from them.

Hinata and Neji walked in the hall which led to numerous other halls. "Wow...no one to greet us at the door either." Hinata grumbled.

"Where the hell are they?" Neji mumbled as he took Hinata's arm and led her to the living room. After many turns, they came upon the large 'living room' which was big enough to build a fashion runway there.

"SURPRISE!" came numerous yells, almost scaring the hell out of Neji and Hinata. They jumped back as they took in Hanabi and Hana in front.

"My babies are home!" Hana gushed as she ran forward to hug the both of them.

"Hey Mom." Hinata said while Hana was hugging Neji so hard with her single arm that he could not talk, hardly breathing.

"Sis!" Hanabi said as she ran up to her sister and hugged her. "Hanabi...whoa....what did you do to your hair?"

"Don't even ask." Said Hinata's friend Jo as she came forward and detached Hanabi to hug Hinata.

"Joanna." Neji acknowledged. He and Jo had not been the best of friends because of similar personalities.

"Neji." She nodded before stepping back from Hinata.

"Anne, Robin...wow you guys..." Hinata said, taking in the decorations and the handmade (Hanabi's writing) banner saying 'Welcome Home'.

"We thought we'd give you a little surprise." Hana said, looking at them both.

"Do you like it?" Hanabi asked, still hanging on to Neji.

"We love it." Neji said, smiling one of his rare, warm smiles. He walked forward to meet his own friends, Jacob, Tobias and Finn.

Anne, Jo and Robin surrounded Hinata. Robin pulled Hinata's hair strand as per greeting and she slapped him per custom.

"Guys, I missed you so much." She gushed at everyone.

"We know." Hanabi smirked as she walked over to Neji. Hana left to get some snacks from the kitchen.

Hinata rolled her eyes and turned to her friends. "Hey, where's Ken guys?"

At the mention of their friend, everyone's face turned dark or weird. They turned away, hesitating to tell her about him.

"What's wrong? Jo?" Hinata asked.

"He...after you guys broke up and you left...he left too. He changed schools and cities and everything. It's like he wanted to forget everything here."

"But...he messaged me." Hinata said, remembering the texts he had sent her.

"Probably the only ones. He hadn't talked to any of us since you left." Robin said a hurtful expression on his face as he remembered his best friend.

"But...we're getting over it." Jo said, taking Robin's hand and he smiled warmly. Anne rolled her eyes. Hinata blinked.

"You....you guys are together?" she asked Jo and Robin. They both grinned and Jo nodded.

"They're messing it up for me. I better find someone soon to make it a quad." Anne joked with a slight sigh. Hinata looked away. She knew Anne had liked Ken and it had hurt her when he asked Hinata out.

"Anyways, let's enjoy this get-together." Hinata said.

"Yeah, it was all your sister's idea though."

"I can believe that." Hinata smiled towards Hanabi, messing around with Neji, her own way of showing him affection. Hinata knew Hanabi would come for her soon. She just wanted to give Hinata time to catch up and hang out with her friends. Sometimes, Hanabi was awesome.
____________

".....What are you doing here?" Sasuke asked his best friend as Naruto plopped onto Sasuke's bed.

"Can't I come to see my best friend?" Naruto asked, grinning. "No." Sasuke replied, drying his hands with a towel as he walked into his room.

"I was wondering if you wanted to watch a movie or something tonight." Naruto asked.

"Uh-you're already dating someone dobe. And also, that sounds like a very couple-y thing which you should do with your girlfriend." Sasuke suggested, taking his phone from Naruto's grasp.

"I'd love to but she's gone."

"She dumped you?" Sasuke smirked when Naruto looked annoyed.

"Why would she dump me? She is gone to see her family in the states." Naruto informed him.

"Good for her." Sasuke shrugged as he logged into his facebook. There was a status from Neji. He was sitting in the plane, Hinata's head on his shoulder as she slept and Neji was smirking.

"Is that Hinata? SHE LOOKS SO CUTE!" Naruto said practically snatching the phone from Sasuke. Sasuke rolled his eyes as Naruto reacted with a love reaction on the photo.

"You idiot, that's my id." Sasuke growled, trying to snatch the phone away.

"Yeah, and I know you're absolutely in love with Neji, gay boy." Naruto grinned.

"Fuck off dobe. You're the one ogling him and his long hair." Sasuke said, succeeding in snatching the phone.

"I already have his cousin." Naruto said and Sasuke scoffed.

"Fine, we'll go to watch a movie as long as you get out of my room right now." Sasuke sighed, knowing he would regret it.

"Yay! I knew it. Let me just call Kiba, Choji and Shikamaru." Naruto said, rushing out of his room, already dialing Kiba's number.

Sasuke sweat dropped before proceeding to walkout of the room too.
______
"That movie was so dope."

Sasuke received Naruto's Instant Message as he entered his house. He rolled his eyes. The movie was okay at best. It had been about this weird girl and her life.

"I know, I nearly cried."

Kiba replied and Sasuke noticed it was a group discussion. "I'm home." He announced.

"Sasuke, in the kitchen." Itachi's voice rang out. So they were home, Sasuke thought. He walked into the kitchen.

Fugaku, Mikoto and Itachi were seated around the table with food in front of them, eating hungrily.

"Hey. What a surprise." Sasuke said, eyeing his father and older brother.

"I know, right?" Mikoto said as she patted a seat next to her for Sasuke.

"We decided we had to come home sometimes. Work is too tiring sometimes." Fugaku said, eating his food.

"Yeah, especially when you can't do things you like." Itachi said, attacking his food again.

"Why is the workload so much all of a sudden?" Sasuke asked.

"Well, I told you about the Uchiha corp. branching out in the states, right?" Fugaku asked and Sasuke nodded.

"Well, we've launched that branch and it's been a success." Itachi continued happily.

"We've been working overtime managing that, since there hasn't been a proper panel of workers there yet." Fugaku said.

"But we've found the perfect person for it." Itachi sighed happily.

"Really? Who's that?" Mikoto asked.

"Sasuke." Said Fugaku as Sasuke suddenly chocked on his onigiri.

"WHAT?" he choked out. "What?" Itachi asked innocently.

"Oh my little boy's grown up! This calls for a celebration!" Mikoto said, jumping up happily to get ice cream. When she was out of sight, Sasuke turned to his father.

"Will someone tell me what's going on?" he asked, narrowing his eyebrows.

"Of course. We've been working to manage the staff in the states but I'm thinking of handing over that branch to Itachi, naming him C.E.O which leaves you in Japan. You can manage here with me till you're older. This is...sort of an internship. It will be the perfect opportunity for you to learn if you go to the states with Itachi."

Sasuke listened carefully as Fugaku explained. So much for a peaceful holiday, huh? Fugaku looked at him, raising his brow as Sasuke did not show any reaction except for scoffing slightly.

"Brilliant." Sasuke said, sarcasm dripping from his words. Itachi shook his head, amused while Fugaku also seemed amused by his display. Sasuke hated when they treated him like he was five.

"Ice cream!" Mikoto announced, coming back with a tray of ice cream. She put a bowl in front of everyone. "I wish Hinata were here to celebrate."

Fugaku coughed meaningfully while Itachi looked at Sasuke, his eyes a bit uncomfortable. "Whatever. When do I pack?"

"You're leaving next week. Until then...you're going to be coming to Uchiha Co. every day with us." Itachi told him, proceeding to eat his ice cream.

Sasuke did not like sweet things so he tried to eat it, trying to keep from making his mother sad. He sighed. He was not going to like this.
____

The first few days had been amazing. Hinata got up when she wanted, hung out with Jo, Robin and Anne and had fun with Hanabi and Neji. She had talked to both her parents, caught up on life in the states and retrieved the newest magazines from the bookshops.

She had also talked to her parents about her engagement which had consisted of her mainly yelling and them assuring them it was the best choice.

Sunday was one of the rare days Hyuga Hiashi was home. Hanabi was out with her friends, shopping while Neji was talking to Tenten in his room while she gushed about the martial arts camp and how awesome it was.

Hiashi was sitting on the sofa casually, watching a cooking show while leaning against Hana, who was completely immersed in the television show. "Hey guys." Hinata said, walking in the room.

"Hey Hina." Her mother said, distractedly while Hiashi waved his hand lazily. Hinata took a seat on one of the couches.

"What is up?" Hiashi asked, trying to be a modern dad, failing miserably due to his robotic tone.

"I wanted to talk to you." Hinata said, sighing "About the engagement."

Hiashi straightened up and Hana turned the television off. "Go ahead."

"Okay then." Hinata said, sighing before starting. "HOW COULD YOU DO THAT TO A FIVE YEAR OLD?!"

Her parents jumped because she never yelled at them. Period. The Hyuga were used to a strict, necessary and polite environment.

"Hinata, calm down." Said Hana, recovering before her husband.

"Oh, so now you want me to calm down? Mom do you even know how I felt at that dinner party?" Hinata asked, furious.

"I know. And we're sorry. But the elders insisted we keep the Hyuga tradition by promising you to a suitor. They chose Neji and we could not do that!" Hiashi said, shaking his head at the thought.

"And Sasuke was a good choice. He's such a nice boy." Hana said, smiling softly.

"Oh, he's nice alright." Hinata muttered. But still, she was glad she had not been engaged to Neji...yuck.

"Despite all that Hinata, we should have told you it was him. But I'm sure you will carry this out for your honor as well as ours." Hiashi told her, a hint of pride in his eyes.

Hinata sighed. Both her parents looked at her with expectant eyes. She nodded and they both smiled. "We'll celebrate today. Anyways, there is a party among the Hyuga tonight. We should attend." Hana said, clapping her hands.

Hinata sighed  and walked out of the room to go to her room.
_______
Hinata had thought that being an intern would be fun. Especially since she was the Hyuga heiress. But Noo, it had to be boring. Here she was, sitting in a meeting on her first day, while her father was discussing tactics with the representatives with another of their allies while she was supposed to take notes for the meeting.

Neji was sitting besides his uncle as his right hand. Despite being only a year older, Neji had much more experience than she could have in many years. He had always been taken to his office and taught things she had not, saying she was younger.

"Glad we had this meeting then, Hiashi." The head of the other company said, in Japanese.

"Yes. The feeling is mutual." Hiashi nodded.

"I have not seen this lovely lady before, is she a close relative?" the man said, now eyeing Hinata interested.

Hinata tucked her bang behind her ear and looked up to see his smile. "Ah. This is Hinata, my oldest daughter. I forgot introductions before, my apologies." Hiashi said, also smiling slightly.

"She is quite lovely." The man said, shaking hands with Hinata. Neji's face stiffened at that. Hinata almost giggled. Neji was very conscious of people getting close to her.

"Thank you." She said, addressing him for the first time.

"That reminds me, Hiashi, are you coming to the ball being hosted for the companies this month?" the man asked.

Hinata remembered. There was an association which hosted an annual ball to bring together all the companies and the allies.

"I had quite forgotten. I do not think I will be able to attend this year." Hiashi said "I have a tour for Japan pending."

"Oh, that is understandable. What about your nephew? He can come in your place?" the man suggested, looking at Neji.

"I will be accompanying uncle to Japan." Neji said, still cold.

"Now that is unfortunate. But you must send someone from Hyuga co." the man said, looking at Hiashi.

Hiashi thought for a moment before smiling slightly. "Hinata can go."

"I don't think that's...." Neji said, looking slightly panicked.

"Neji...it's okay." Hinata said, trying to assure him. He did not look it but he did not speak again.

"That will work out quite nicely. That way, she can even meet my son." The man said, smiling at her.

"It will be seen to." Hiashi said.

"That is settled. Now please excuse me for I must leave." The man said, bowing before smiling at Neji and Hinata before leaving.

"Who was that even?" Hinata asked, earning a glare from her father. "Hinata, you were supposed to take notes. Were you asleep?"

Hinata smiled sheepishly. Neji sighed before speaking. "That was Daichi Otsutski, head of the Tenseigan Co. He has a son too; I have heard he is quite good."

"But that is for later. Get to work, both of you." Hiashi said just like he owned them as their boss before smirking and walking off. Hinata and Neji sighed simultaneously.

Working in Hyuga co. would not be that easy, after all.
