Whoever was up there had made it a personal mission to make him regret every good thing he had thought about life ever.

Sasuke could not believe he had not expected this. There he was, standing in front of the Tenseigan co. with Shisui and the Uchiha personnel. And Hinata's car was visible. She was getting out with Neji and some other workers.

She spotted him and froze momentarily. Of course she would be there. Of course his karma would do that to him.

"Good evening Uchiha-sama, Sasuke." Neji said, walking to them with Hinata, who looked stunning in her red sundress which showed off her curves. Sasuke thought he saw Shisui wipe his nosebleed and he rolled his eyes.

"Hi there." Shisui said, to both Neji and Hinata.

"Hello. Who are you? I think I have seen you before." Hinata said, trying to recall where she had seen him.

"I'm Sasuke and Itachi's cousin, Shisui. I think you might have seen me at the dinner party. By the way you look beautiful."

Hinata blushed at Shisui's comment and Sasuke felt annoyed. He could stop flirting with his fiancé. He did not care, obviously, but they had an act to keep up.

"Can we go already?" he asked everyone. Shisui smirked, as if he knew something Sasuke didn't.

"Sure Sasu." Shisui said, using the nickname Izumi called him with. He trudged on when he heard Hinata giggle.

Toneri Otsutsuki was not amused. He removed his left hand from his jeans pocket to brush away his shaggy bangs from his eyes. He sighed. The vacations were not fun at all. America was very dull. He preferred to stay with his mother at home to this.

But his father had thought this was a perfect opportunity for him to learn about Tenseigan Co. Whenever he was reminded he could have been playing basketball instead of being cooped up in these meeting rooms, he felt annoyed, despite being the calmest person he knew.

Then there was the matter of no one his age being here. So when his father told him their allies, Hyuga and Uchiha Co. were coming to their company for a meeting along with their representatives, he sighed because of another impending doom of boring day.

Toneri was not used to being surprised by most things. He would already be aware of everything or despite not knowing, the supposed surprise would have occurred to him somehow. So when he saw the blue haired girl walk in with Neji Hyuga, Sasuke Uchiha and Shisui Uchiha, all of whom he knew were coming, he blinked stupidly.

He thought he must be dreaming again. For he had seen her in his dreams, quite frequently since he had seen her at the match. But he blinked again but she was still there, smiling while Shisui said something to her. Then she spotted him standing there and everyone else also looked his way.

Her eyes on him, Toneri had no idea what to do or say. He could smile, wave them over. He was pretty sure he looked pretty stupid standing there like that.

Her eyes showed recognition. He was relieved. So she had also remembered him. Good. The younger Uchiha was frowning as usual while the other Hyuga had a neutral face. Shisui smiled his usual winning smile.

"Toneri-san." Shisui acknowledged. Toneri smiled a neutral smile, being the master of expressions, and held out his hand to shake it with his.

"How do you do?" he asked in English.

"Very well. What about you?" Shisui asked lightly, as if asking a friend.

"Fine. Hello to you all." He said, sweeping his gaze over the boys and resting on her. She looked curious.

"I saw you at the match." She said, stepping forward. He gulped. Because she looked so beautiful in red. He cleared his throat.

"Yes. I did too. I am sorry I did not have time for introductions." He said and held out his hand. "I am Toneri Otsutsuki."

"Oh. Nice to meet you Otsutsuki-san, I'm Hinata. Hyuga Hinata." She said, smiling pleasantly. Her hand was so soft, Toneri noticed. He looked into her lavender eyes. They were so pretty. He did not want to look away.

"Can we see Daichi-san?" Neji asked in his clipped tone, eyeing him and Hinata carefully.

"Of course." Toneri said, letting go of Hinata's hand but still looking into her eyes. She returned his gaze curiously.

The exchange made Sasuke uncomfortable. "Well? Are you going to just stand there or take us there?" he asked, raising his brows.

A man appeared before them with a pleasant smile. "Welcome to Tenseigan. Co. We are sorry for the wait. Please come with me. I am Julian."

"Neji."

"Shisui."

"You must be the heads, please follow me along with your personnel. The children can amuse themselves meanwhile."

"Hinata, are you okay with this?" Neji asked.

She nodded and looked at Sasuke and then Toneri who broke into a smile. Shisui looked at Sasuke, smirked and started walking away without bothering to ask anything.

As they walked away, Toneri asked Hinata. "Would you like to see the garden we have here? It is quite exquisite."

"No. She has to go to the meeting. We're here to learn, not play." Sasuke said, coming in front of her. He did not know why he felt so annoyed by Toneri's friendliness to Hinata.

"I did not ask you Uchiha. Get away. You're not her boss." Toneri said, his tone ice cold.

"Sasuke, it's fine, you can go if you want. I want to see the garden." Hinata said in a surprised tone. What was up with Sasuke?

Toneri smiled her way. "Come along then." He said, offering her his hand. She smiled and took it. She glanced at Sasuke who looked pissed.

"Aren't you going then?" she asked, raising her eye brow.

"It seems I am not." He said, deciding he didn't trust Toneri.

"Suit yourself." Toneri said as he started walking away with Hinata. Sasuke kicked at the floor without any reason before walking behind them, hands in pocket, determined to keep an eye on them.

Toneri was a creep. Something in his heart just knew.

"This is so beautiful!" Hinata exclaimed, for the tenth time. She was sitting on the grass by Toneri's side and he was showing her all the plants and flowers.

"Yes, the lilacs do smell nice, don't they?" Toneri asked, his smile genuine. He was having fun for the first time since he came to the states.

"I know. I even grew some before. I love gardening and pressing flowers." She told him.

"You have an interesting hobby. I usually like to train in martial arts or play basketball." He informed her.

"Wait...you're in the basketball team, aren't you?" she asked.

"I am the captain for the Moon High basketball team." He told her.

"Wow. Seems like I might see you play some times, huh?" he asked.

"You will." He assured her with half a glance at Sasuke, who looked uninterested in what they had to discuss, in the branches of a tall tree, eyes close while resting against the trunk.

Hinata lay down in the ground and Toneri noticed how natural she acted besides him, unlike all the other girls he had met.

"I love this garden." She said "I feel like I am in the secret garden."

Toneri smiled as he leaned back on his arms, his legs spread forward. "I loved that story. I had this garden built here in the Tenseigan Co. grounds because I wanted to feel like that. That's why I have ivy and wines covering the entrance doors. It's fascinating."

"Just look at the sky." She said, sighing. Toneri lay down besides her and looked up. The sky was blue. Like it had always been. But somehow, it seemed more beautiful watching it with her. He closed his eyes.

"What is wrong with the both of you?" he opened his eyes to see a frowning Sasuke's head leaning over them.

"Nothing, join us." Hinata told him.

"No way. And you're supposed to act like an heiress, Hyuga."

"Stop being so bossy." She said, not knowing what his problem was.

"I cannot believe he knows Naruto." Toneri said, sighing.

"You know Naruto?" Hinata asked, turning her head to look at him. He smiled.

"I do. We have a....very long cousin relationship. Our ancestors, Hamura and Hagoromo were brothers." He told her.

"So you're his cousin?" she asked, happy and curious.

"I am. Sort of." He said, sitting up "Stop looking constipated Uchiha." He added.

Hinata giggled and Toneri stopped to look at her while she did that. Sasuke noticed how Toneri looked at Hinata and he did not like it. He did not like it at all. He took her arm and made her sit up.

"Hey, what the-?" she asked.

"We're leaving. I'm hungry." He said.

"Why do I have to go if you're hungry?" She said feeling bewildered. Toneri looked at Sasuke, knowing what he was doing.

"It's okay Hinata. I'm hungry too, let's go. My treat to anything you want to eat." He smiled, taking her hand. Sasuke noticed she let him. It further soured his mood.

"Okay. What do you want to eat Sasuke?" she asked, turning to him.

"Whatever works." Sasuke said, discreetly snatching Hinata's hand away from Toneri. She rolled her eyes but let him.

"Pizza?" she asked and Sasuke nodded distractedly.

"Fine, our chef will prepare it. I have my private lounge here. Let's go there. We can watch a movie." Toneri suggested. Sasuke sighed.

 Toneri set the pizza and drinks in front of them while he turned the movie on. He moved to sit beside Hinata.

'Not on my watch.' Sasuke thought as he took a seat between them. Toneri narrowed his eyes and frowned at him. Hinata did not notice.

Sasuke smirked back at him, putting his arm on the sofa beside Hinata. Toneri looked furious. But he could not do anything about it without confronting Sasuke directly, could he?

Toneri realized what he wanted him to do and smiled back poisonously. "Hinata...you know what, I think we should go and see a movie online. We can see whatever you want."

"I'm okay with whatever you're going to watch." She told him.

"No. I insist." Toneri said getting up. Hinata shrugged and followed him to get his laptop. Sasuke's eye twitched as he realized what Toneri was doing.

He got up to follow them and so began 2 hours of hell.

Neji was surprised to see Hinata so radiant with happiness and Uchiha practically storming with anger when he came back from the meeting.

Toneri besides his cousin also looked really glad. Shisui also noticed Sasuke's sour mood.

"Anything wrong Sasuke?" he asked, thoughtfully. Sasuke said nothing, pretending he had not heard him.

"Did you not get along with Toneri-san?" Neji asked suspiciously.

"We did. It was so much fun." Hinata gushed. She looked at Toneri who smiled affectionately. This did not miss Neji's sight. It seemed Sasuke also saw it because his face darkened further.

"Can we go now?" he asked instead.

"Yeah, we were just leaving." Shisui said "We just came to get you, in fact." He informed Sasuke.

"Alright then Toneri, I'll see you at the ball?" Hinata asked hopefully.

"You will." He assured her and moved to shake her hand. Neji was surprised. Hinata did not open up to people so fast. She was already on a first name basis with Toneri?

Toneri looked contented looking at Hinata while Sasuke looked ready to kill him. He suddenly snatched Hinata's arm, dragging her away with him.

"Bye" she waved before turning angrily to Sasuke. Toneri also smiled, as if amused and waved back before turning to Neji and Shisui who were looking at Sasuke in astonishment.

"I hope your day goes well." He said, bowing to them and turning away. "Good bye."

"Bye." Neji said, looking at Shisui who also looked puzzled.

"What happened to Sasuke?" he asked Neji who shrugged.

"Let's just go...I'm hungry." Neji said. "Let's get pizza." Shisui suggested and Neji shrugged. He smirked then.

The Uchiha's behavior was seriously suggesting something, Neji realized. He had a crush on Hinata.

"Sasuke, what the hell is wrong with you?"

Hinata looked genuinely angry and puzzled. "I don't know!" he suddenly snapped.

"What do you mean you don't know?" she demanded.

"Toneri just pisses me off."

Hinata sighed. "You don't like him, I think he's nice." she spoke.

"Well, your judgement needs some updating" he rolled his eyes.

"Sasuke, you can't act like you own me."

"Too late, you're already engaged to me." Sasuke said, his expression annoyed.

"Don't!" she interjected. Sasuke rolled his eyes. Was it really that bad? The engagement was starting to sound less bad to him now.

"He looks like a playboy anyways." He told her. She raised her eyebrows at him.

"You have a million fan girls, you're one to talk." She said, crossing her arms. Sasuke sighed. Neji and Shisui came out of the building in the meanwhile.

"We're just going to go and grab something to eat with our representatives, you two go on. Sasuke, drop Hinata off at home." Shisui told them.

"Oh great." Sasuke muttered. Hinata felt a dull pang at his tone.

"I can manage if that's what's bothering you." she told him "I'll ask-"

"Hinata, just come on." He said, going to the car, breathing out as if he was exhausted to the bone.

They drove to her home in silence.

Okay, so another update done. Do let me know if you think i am dragging this out too much. However, the development is complete and now only realization is left.
