Living with the Uchihas- Part 2

Sakura let out a sigh as she walked into the gym for practice, along with Ino. They were both dressed in the mini-dresses and had their pompoms in their hands. All the heads turned towards them as they walked towards the cheerleaders. Sakura had to suppress a smirk. She knew her and Ino were beautiful and didn't hesitate to show it. They were both slender and fragile to look at.

Although how Ino managed that with the amount of food she ate (hence earning her the nickname pig by Sakura). And even though Sakura herself looked fragile, anyone who had suffered her punches knew she was damn well not fragile.

The boys were smirking or wistful or both as they looked at them. Except for Sasuke. He didn't even bother to look at them, staring at the basketball in his hands. Sakura felt frustrated. How come he never paid attention to them like the other boys?

And all she wanted was his attention. Why did he not look at other girls? She was kinda glad he didn't but he could make an exception for her, couldn't he? He only treated her like his friend (to some extent) instead of the popular girl she was.

She furrowed her brows as she walked past him, trying to make him look at her. He did. He looked at her but his face stayed the same, emotionless and then he looked away again. Ino waved to Naruto who was grinning at her.

Sakura sighed. He didn't even look the cheerleader's way. Ever. Until she had found him staring her way once. She had been happy and returned his gaze, only to find it rested upon the midnight blue haired beauty next to her.

Hinata wasn't even aware of Sasuke staring at her with an emotionless face, something Sakura craved. Hinata had her back to Sasuke and was laughing at something Ino had said. Sakura looked back at Sasuke only to find he was staring at something else by that time. She had thought maybe she had imagined it, but she most certainly had not.

Hinata. Her thoughts turned to her friend. Ever since she had transferred, Sakura had liked her. She was beautiful, smart, charming, kind and intelligent. Even though she didn't have the same beauty as the emerald eyed girl herself, something about her lavender pearl eyes made you want to keep looking into them forever.

Hinata was confident and she was the Hyuga heiress. She was an amazinf cheerleader, already in the front row of cheerleading with Karin, Sakura, Ino, Yuki and Sumire. She was an amazing friend and a nice person.

Sakura shook herself out of her thoughts, next to Ino, waiting for Temari to arrive when she heard Sumire talking to Yuki. "Yeah, have you checked the blog? The festival dates are coming soon."

"I have." Yuki said "But the most interesting thing there was SasuHina." She said, a little darkly. Sakura knew why. She was also an 'admirer' of Sasuke.

Sakura wondered though. What was going on between Hinata and Sasuke? Were they more than friends? Was Hinata interested in Sasuke even though she knew how Sakura felt about him? Would she really betray Sakura like that?

"You okay billboard brow?" Ino joked as she nudged her friend, lost in deep thought.

That shook Sakura out of her thoughts. "Yeah, I-I'm fine." Sakura said, smiling.

"If you're worried about Hinata, she's fine. We could go to see her if you like." Ino suggested. Sakura smiled at her best friend's attempts to make her feel better.

"No, not today. And yeah, she'll be okay." Sakura said.

No. Hinata was not the type. She would not betray Sakura like that. She was just too nice. And besides, she had told her friends how she and Sasuke were family friends. It was nothing more. Sakura smiled as Temari came in with her usual style and everyone jumped like they always did in surprise.

Time for a showdown.
____________

After Sasuke had left, Hinata had engaged in conversation with his father and brother, who were pleasant company. Soon after, they had left for their office.

Mikoto and Hinata had ended up talking about Sasuke and she had showed her his baby pictures. She had to admit, he had been a cute kid. 'wonder what happened to him now.' She thought as she looked at his pictures.

The first one was of a baby Sasuke. The next one was of a toddler, flashing a toothy smile. He was very cute and Hinata had 'awwed' instantly. The pictures had led to the current Sasuke, who grew more and more sullen.

Some pictures were very embarrassing, of him and Itachi, him taking a bath in a tub, him wearing a dress and him with a brown haired girl when he was 8 or 9.

Hinata had laughed and Mikoto had let her keep the picture of Sasuke and the girl. Mikoto had left to make dinner and Hinata had started reading a book. She was feeling so much better anyways. She couldn't wait to go to school tomorrow.

Hinata was watching television when Mikoto had heard the phone ringing. It was a friend, who had come from foreign after a long time. Mikoto squealed in excitement, telling her she'd be there to meet her in an hour.

She had then told Hinata about her dear friend Sora, who had been her friend since she was a little girl. Sora had married an English man and now lived there. Now, she was back after many years and Mikoto intended to go meet her.

"I'll be back later. Help yourself to anything in the fridge." Mikoto said after she was dressed and leaving. Hinata nodded.

"Have a good time." She called.

"You too sweetie." Mikoto said as she rushed out of the doors of the house. Hinata was all alone. Except for the servants, who made themselves scarce or were very busy.

She had watched a little more television and had felt drowsy, sleep coming to her on the couch. She shut her eyes and soon it was all black.
_________

Sasuke sighed as walked into the house. He ran a hand through his messy hair, making them even messier. Kami, he was tired. Today the practice had been extra long and had been super tiring. He smirked thinking how Konoha was going to slaughter Cloud High in the first match.

He shut the door, to find the house very quiet. His mother must not be home. Usually, if she was home, she would be humming or something would be creating some sort of a noise. He kinda thanked the Kami, because he could not bear to deal with his mother or anyone right now.

Anyone hinting at his bothersome fiancé. Where was she anyways? She was nowhere in sight. That was all good.

He walked towards the couch as usual. He threw his bag on the table and kicked off his shoes. He had already showered at school. He walked to the couch slowly and lay down softly, facing the back of the sofa. Man, he loved this couch. It was so dark, and soft and nice and....and it had someone on it right now.

His heart lurched and he instantly moved his head when he felt something...more like when he had his face in the crook of Hinata's neck. "What the-?" he thought "Seriously, she had to be asleep here, didn't she?"

She was asleep peacefully on the couch with a blanket drawn over her. The couch was his place to relax. He sighed as he decided to just go to his room. He stopped as he felt her put an arm around him. He looked at her face and he felt peaceful all of a sudden.

Was he going crazy? Probably tired from practice because he suddenly felt very sleepy. He fought his urge to sleep with her now but to no avail. He felt his eyes shut and darkness take over.
_______

Sasuke watched as the girl skipped ahead of him again. She was carrying all the light as usual and he stumbled after her in the dark. He was running after her and calling for her to please stop because he was tired.

He was panting and looked around as he could not see the light anymore. He sat down and tried to fight the urge to cry. Then something took over and he screamed with all his might.

"HINATA!"

The girl, a dot in the distance, stopped. Sasuke looked hopeful and started to run towards her. She was just standing there, still not looking back.

"Hinata." He said, crying and laughing with relief. He did not know why he was so terrified but not that she had stopped, everything would be alright.

Just as he reached her, she started falling into the darkness. He reached out for her but to no avail. "Hinata." He called and just then, he jolted awake.

His eyes snapped open, to smell lavender and vanilla. It was soothing and immediately, he relaxed even though he did not know why he did. He took in his surroundings. He was still on the couch. Okay. And he was covered with a blanket. Also okay. He sighed. His support quivered. He realized he had his face buried in the crook of her neck, his arms around her waist as she slept with her own arms around him. Not okay.

How the fuck had he slept like this? With her nonetheless? And was he...was he cuddling with her? Why was his face in the crook of her neck? Had someone seen them? He hoped not. Hinata was still sleeping peacefully.

How long had they been asleep? Sasuke lifted his head to look at the wall clock. Almost two hours. Almost two hours and none of them had woken up. He was glad he was the first one awake, otherwise he and she both would have been embarrassed.

He gently took his arms away and moved her arms, his body already missing the warmth. He sat up on the couch to look at Hinata, who was frowning in her sleep now. He smiled. Then frowned. Why did he smile? Maybe, because she looked cute?

Whatever. He looked at the clock again. It was a quarter to 7. Maybe he should ea....wait. Naruto had said he'd come over at 7. He hadn't even changed from his uniform yet. Sasuke sighed. He looked at Hinata and covered her snugly with the blanket before walking out of the living room. He walked to his room, where he washed up and dressed into a navy blue T-shirt over jeans. He ran a hand through his hair and walked into the kitchen to scavenge something to eat.

He found some tomatoes and started eating them at once. Boy was he hungry. Suddenly, he was aware of someone walking into the room. He looked to see Hinata, rubbing her eyes.

"Morning." She said, still sleepy.

"Evening." He replied curtly, hoping she'd realize what he was saying. It didn't seem like she did though. She just walked over to him in her morning clothes and took his tomato.

"I was eating that." He said protested.

"Were you?" she yawned and bit into the tomato. Suddenly, Sasuke was fascinated by seeing her eat. Those plump lips biting into the delicious plump tomato. It put some images into his mind which he shook away.

"Don't take my food." He said and picking up another tomato. Hinata finished her tomato and walked to the sink where she washed her face. Now, she was awake.

She looked at Sasuke and actually smiled. "Hey Sasuke." She said.

He rolled his eyes. She was just crazy. He continued to eat the tomato in silence.

"How was school?" she asked again, trying to strike conversation.

"Fine." He replied.

"Practice?"

"Fine."

"Um...how's everyone?"

"Fine." He said again and bit into his tomato "Oh and the idiot's going to be here in 10 minutes to see you."

"Naruto-kun?" she asked, surprised. Sasuke nodded. She squeaked a little and ran up to her room. He smirked. Girls and their reactions.

He walked to the couch to watch television until Naruto came. The blanket was still there, reminding Sasuke of the sleeping position and also of the dream. Life was so fucked up sometimes.
________

He pulled up the car into a driveway, where the guard let him in, upon recognizing him. He nodded in acknowledgement. The house, if you could call it that, was as it had always been. The garden was lush and full of life while the building stood tall and maintained.

He eyed the crest and sighed. Pride. One of the main flaws of the Uchiha. Was it really necessary to flaunt the crest everywhere possible? He had seen Uchiha underwear with the paper fans (a scarring incident).

He pulled his jacket closer as he walked up to the wooden door. Instead of knocking, he pulled the knob, familiar with the place.

As he walked inside, he saw a dark haired male sitting with his back to him, on a large couch, watching the huge plasma screen. Even though he had his back to the new comer, he could tell the other's face would be blank as always, abnormally calm.

He walked up to him as silently as he could before yelling and startling the other male "TEME!"

Sasuke sighed as he heard his 'best friend' as he jumped after he had snuck up on him. "Idiot, why don't you even knock?" he asked, annoyed at jumping on his stupid friend's antics.

Naruto started laughing loudly and sat down on the couch, throwing aside his jacket to reveal a black T-shirt over blue jeans. "Whatcha watching?" Naruto asked, snatching the remote, with which Sasuke as previously randomly changing channels.

"Jesus Naruto, are you my wife or something?" Sasuke asked, sucking in a breath.

"Aw, we both know you'd like me to be. Ever since the incident." Naruto said, his mouth curving into a grin. Sasuke frowned.

The-incident-that-shall-not-be-named would most certainly not be named.

"What incident?" as voice asked from the entrance of the living room, revealing Hinata stepping down the stairs. She had a long T-shirt and tights on and her hair in a ponytail.

"Hinata-Chan!" Naruto exclaimed happily, standing up and running to hug her with such enthusiasm that he almost knocked her down.

"Hey Naruto-kun." Hinata said, blushing slightly and returning his hug with feeble arms. Sasuke watched the whole scene with a sour face.

"You two look like such a couple." Sasuke commented, smirking at Hinata's scowl and Naruto's grin. "That's not a bad thing though, is it?" Naruto asked glancing at Hinata who smiled.

"What incident though?" she asked, walking to the chair opposite to them while they lounged on the couch.

"Nothing." Sasuke and Naruto said hurriedly.

"Tell me." Hinata said, looking at them both.

"None of your business." Sasuke told her rudely.

Hinata made a mental note to ask Sakura and Ino about the "incident". "So how are you Hinata-Chan?" Naruto asked.

"I'm fine now." She said smiling at him.

"Obviously I helped her; she was really pathetic that day I found her." Sasuke smirked. He did not even know why he teased her. He just loved to get a reaction out of her.

"I was not. I came here because of my mom calling your mom." Hinata said, trying to look angry but pouting. Naruto's heart melted at once.

"Leave her alone Teme." He said to Sasuke before turning to her "You're coming to school tomorrow right?" Naruto asked.

"Of course. I need to get back at my work." She said, smiling.

"Thank Kami. We missed you so much at practice." Naruto said, looking into her eyes and noticing how deep they were. Or he was becoming a poet.

"We didn't. You did." Sasuke corrected him before getting to get a soda from the kitchen.

"Quit being a jerk, teme." Naruto scolded, fearing Sasuke would hurt Hinata.

"I don't even care what he thinks, don't worry." Hinata said, reassuring Naruto.

"Yeah, don't worry, she's so damn persistent and stubborn, someone like me could never break her down." Sasuke smirked drinking the soda.

Hinata frowned at him before deciding to ignore him completely. She walked over to Sasuke's previous spot and sat down next to Naruto, while they decided to watch a movie.

Sasuke was bored so he decided to join in. He pushed Hinata to make her scoot away a little. She didn't even react. She pretended like it never happened.

They decided to watch a chick-flick. Sasuke argued against it but she did not honor him with her words, instead looking at Naruto like Sasuke wasn't even there.

While watching the movie, she leaned on Naruto, who grinned and put an arm around her. Sasuke just watched her, while she didn't even look at him. He raised his brows to himself and scooted farther from the sickeningly sweet couple. Or almost couple or something.

They were half through the movie when Mikoto came home, accompanied by Itachi and Fugaku.

"Naruto." Fugaku acknowledged.

"Hey Uncle Fugaku. Aunt Mikoto, Itachi." Naruto said, eyes still glued to the screen.

"Hey guys, Itachi." Hinata said.

"You mean mom and dad." Mikoto said with a sweet smirk, trying to get under Fugaku's skin again. Fugaku blanched.

"You call them mom and dad?" Naruto suddenly whipped his head towards her with a puzzled expression.

"Why wouldn't she...she's Sasuke's...." Mikoto was saying when Sasuke cut her off by saying "...friend. She's my friend so..."

"I'm your best friend, I never called your parents mom or dad." Naruto countered.

"You're not a family friend idiot." Sasuke said.

"Yes I am." Naruto glared. Okay, he was.

Mikoto, Itachi and Fugaku looked at them, surprised at what they were saying. Why were they acting as if they weren't engaged?

"Oh, look at the time..."Hinata began nervously.

"Get out. I'll see you tomorrow." Sasuke said, dragging Naruto to the doors.

"Yeah, tomorrow." Hinata supplied, walking behind them with Naruto's jacket.

"Guys...what the..?" Naruto said when Hinata hugged him good bye. He stopped whatever he was going to say because she smelled so nice man.

Sasuke pushed him out lightly and the door shut behind him. What the hell was Sasuke's problem? Meh, whatever...he'd had a good time. And he'd see Hinata later.

He walked to his car smirking.
______

"Care to explain what that was all about?" Mikoto asked with a dangerous tone as Sasuke and Hinata walked back into the living room. Fugaku and Itachi had brought popcorn out of somewhere and looked like they were ready to be entertained.

"Not really." Sasuke replied and tried to walk out on her but apparently, Mikoto had different plans.

"Uchiha Sasuke, you will tell me right now, why your best friend didn't know you were engaged to Hinata." Mikoto asked again in a threatening tone.

"Because we haven't told anyone, alright?" Sasuke yelled, whirling back to look at his mother, his demeanor angry and guarded.

"You haven't told....why?" Mikoto asked, confused now.

"Because we want to spend some time without others bothering us with gossip." Hinata spoke up. Sasuke didn't say anything neither did he look at her.

"Is that it?" Itachi asked, looking crestfallen as he munched at his popcorn.

"It is. We'll tell everyone soon, once we get used to the idea." Hinata attempted to smile.

Mikoto didn't say anything. Sasuke suddenly surprised Hinata by grabbing her wrist and pulling her towards the stairs.

"Now if you'll excuse us, we've got homework and making out to do." Sasuke said with an impassive efface while Hinata blushed, making Mikoto smirk, Itachi blank faced and Fugaku gape with his mouth open.

Sasuke pulled her to his room, slamming the door so everyone downstairs could hear it. He let go of her hand and walked to his bed, sitting down on an edge of the mattress.

"Sasuke?" she asked.

"So you're talking to me now?" he growled. She clenched her fists at her side and turned away from him.

"Are we going to be a couple in front of your parents now?" she asked, putting her hand in her shirt and taking the pendent of her locket in her hands, looking at it.

"Isn't it obvious?" he growled, irritated.

"Not really. We could just tell them the truth." She said.

"That's stupid. Just shut up and go along. I don't give a damn if you want to date the idiot or anyone else, I won't tell."

"I don't think we'll be comfortable kissing each other." She said, looking at him.

"We've kissed once. You're not that bad." He said, smirking a little.

Hinata turned away, looking slightly flustered. She did not appreciate Sasuke making fun of her kissing skills. He did not have the right.

"Fine. Now I believe I was promised your notes." She said, looking at him, while he connected the gaming system. He smirked and she knew he would not make this easy.

"You didn't say the magic word."

"Sasuke, quit messing around. I need those notes."

"I'm not messing around. Say please and I might consider lending you the notes I worked hard for."

"You promised you'd lend me the notes for the work I've missed."

"I never did." He shrugged as the game started.

"Your mother did though." She said in a threatening tone.

"My mother is not my spokesperson." He said indifferently before choosing his characters.

Hinata knew what she had to do then. She could either swallow her pride and ask for the notes, go without them or she could play dirty and tell his mother.

She glanced at him, totally immersed in his game. Playing dirty it was then, she decided. "Fine, don't blame me for what happens afterwards." She said before darting for the door.

Sasuke sensed what she was going to do and leapt to his feet, jumping towards the door. She had unlocked it and ran out. He cursed and followed, being the taller one; he took two to three strides and caught up to her.

He grabbed her arm and dragged her inside his room. He shut the door where it made a clicking sound as it locked.

"You dare contemplate telling my mother?" he growled, pinning her to a wall. Seriously, what was with him and walls?

She tried to fight her arms out of his hold but to no avail. "Because you don't listen to me." She growled back.

Sasuke blinked and then said "Because I don't have the notes right now you spoiled brat."

"I'm the spoiled brat? What do you mean you don't have them?" she asked, still fighting.

He pushed her back and she stopped struggling because he leaned over to her. What was he doing? He brought his face closer to hers, until they were just inches apart. "Because genius, they're in my locker. You can have them tomorrow."

Seriously? How had he missed that little piece of information? He could've just told her that instead of making her do all this. Did he enjoy putting her through shit? He probably did.

"Fine." She huffed and he smirked. They kept standing like that, with her pinned to the wall, Sasuke's hands holding her arms, him leaning over her and their faces inches apart.

She looked into his onyx eyes. They held slight amusement. She forgot their position for a moment as she looked into his eyes.

Then, she remembered their position and said "Can you get off me? We're done discussing."

"Why?" he smiled evilly "You're my fiancé and we're supposed to be involved with each other." He smiled suggestively and she knew he was teasing her.

"Yeah, if we liked each other." She said, rolling her eyes. His eyes crinkled as he smiled a real smile to himself, as if remembering a private joke.

He stepped backwards from her and walked over to his game, which was over by now. "Wanna play?" he asked, as if nothing had happened.

"Not like I have anything better to do." She shrugged and walked to the gaming system. Living with the Uchihas was anything but normal though, she thought as she went and sat down next to him.
