Living with the Uchihas-Part 1
"Sasu? Baby, it's dinner time." He heard his mother's voice as he opened his eyes groggily. He felt like he had slept through eternity. Shit. How long had he slept?
"What's the time?" he asked.
"It's almost 9. You've been asleep for hours." His mother informed him. She had let him sleep, seeing how tired he looked.
"I'll be down soon." He said, sitting up in his bed. The night light was turned on, no doubt by his mother. He walked into his bathroom and washed his face, now awakening properly. He ran a hand through his hair and straightened his clothes.
He put his slippers on and walked out of his room, walking downstairs. He glanced at the hall clock. It was 9 now. He walked into the kitchen, where his mother and Hinata were sitting on the table. Hinata had a bowl of soup in front of her and his mother was telling her something.
Hinata was laughing softly. She looked a lot better and even refreshed. Sleep had done her good too. Sasuke went and sat a few seats away from them on the round kitchen table, taking a seat on one of the puffy seated stools.
"Sasu, here's rice balls and onigiri for your dinner." She said, aware of the foods that were her son's favorite. There was also a glass of tomato juice near his plate. He nodded in acknowledgement and started on his rice balls.
"Hinata just woke up too. Both of you slept like logs." Mikoto said, amused.
"Well, we were kinda tired." Hinata said, digging into her food too, not at all shyly. She just realized how hungry she was.
"You weren't the one who had to carry her. She's heavy." Sasuke said impassively. That was not completely true.
"Are you calling me fat?" Hinata challenged.
"So?" he asked, smirking.
"So, you jerk, you're just too skinny and weak if you think I'm heavy to carry. And you don't have to carry me again." Hinata glared and turned away.
'Oh no she didn't' Sasuke thought, as he looked at her, surprised. Never had he been told he was skinny and lousy by anybody, be it boy or girl. What did she mean? He was super fit. He had muscles and...
"Now that's putting Sasu into his place. You go Hina!" Mikoto high fived her daughter in law (almost) and dug into her food again.
"Thanks for the support, mom." Sasuke commented drily.
"Yeah, no worries dear." Mikoto smiled and looked at the clock. Itachi and Fugaku would return very late. They had another meeting. Sasuke did not even ask about it while Hinata had asked before Sasuke's arrival, if they would be home for dinner to which she said no.
They ate in silence for a few moments. "I need to go to school tomorrow. I will miss a lot of work." Hinata said, to Mikoto, mostly.
"No. The doctor said you needed bed rest. You'll stay home." Mikoto said, going into mama bear mode.
"But I-" Hinata began when Mikoto cut her off.
"Sasuke can make notes and lend them to you. You guys share classes, right?" Mikoto said, not even bothering to look at Sasuke who almost chocked on his food.
"We do. 5 of them actually. And when we met Sasuke thought..." Hinata was saying amusedly when Sasuke cut her off this time "Fine, we'll share notes."
If his mother found out what he had done on Hinata's first day in school, she would never let him live it down. He could share notes if this shut her up.
"Fine. But I have practice on Friday. Saturday's the match." Hinata said. She was right. It was on Saturday and because it was the first match of the season, everyone was going to be there.
"The basketball match? Oh I have to be there!" Mikoto exclaimed.
Sasuke did choke on his food this time. He glared at Hinata as his mother fretted over him. What was her problem, announcing it was the match soon, like that? The last time his mother had come to one of his matches was when he was in freshman year, and had been selected for the team newly, along with Naruto.
The next thing he knew was his mother had been shouting in the match. Yelling things like 'That's my baby' and 'SASUKE!' or 'You go Sasu!'
He had simply pretended not to know her, knowing his teammates would never let him live it down. Naruto was the only one who knew it was his mother but he couldn't make fun of him, if he wanted to live himself, because Kushina was there too, yelling similar but a lot more embarrassing stuff.
They had both rushed out of there, as soon as the match was over. He had made sure his mother never knew of his matches again, and had even told her he had quit the team once, but the truth had come out because of the teme Itachi.
"And since the match is on Saturday and Neji's coming back on Sunday, you're going to leave on Sunday!" Mikoto said "And we can do all sorts of daughter-mother things, like shopping and make overs and..."
"..And I need to work on my project with Hinata." Sasuke decided to make his mother stop.
"Sasuke Uchiha, you are not going to make your sick fiancé work with you." Mikoto said, sternly, turning to look at him.
"Of course not" Sasuke said, wisely backing off for now.
"Eh, I can take it Mrs...I mean, Mother." Hinata said, smiling nervously.
"I never said you couldn't. Forget homework, take your medicine and why don't you both spend some time together?" Mikoto asked, sweetly.
"I'm done." Sasuke said, getting up before his mother could make him agree. He left for his room. He could hear Hinata offering to do the dishes and Mikoto refusing, telling her to take her medicine and entertain herself.
Sasuke walked into his room and turned on the television. He started watching Sherlock Holmes before noticing someone walk into his room.
"Did I ever tell you that you had a nice room?" she asked, walking towards his bed, on which he was laying down.
"You've only been here twice." He pointed out.
"You have a nice room." She said, before standing by the bed, with her arms crossed and her gaze on the television screen.
"Yeah, whatever." He said, resuming watching T.V.
"Are you going to invite me to sit?" she asked, raising her brow. He didn't reply which made her slightly annoyed. She plopped down on his bed, making the mattress and Sasuke bounce slightly.
"That's rude." He said, bored, looking at her.
"Your face is rude, I'm not complaining." She said shrugging. Okay, she had a point. He smirked.
"The hell are you doing in my room?" he asked.
"Now you think of that? Your mother sent me"
"You're sick. Rest." He said. He didn't care a lot but he wanted her to leave so he could watch television. "But I'm bored." She said.
"Whatever, I don't care. Go away." He informed her. She sighed and got off his bed. He smirked; he had finally gotten rid of her.
He frowned when she turned the television off from the wires. "What the hell?" he asked annoyed. She annoyed him a lot, he noticed.
"You're being rude." She smiled evilly. God, he hated girls.
"I am rude." He said, getting off the bed to walk over where she was standing. He was towering over her, being a head taller.
"Too bad, I don't like rude people." She said, nonchalantly.
"Too bad I do." He said as he glared at her, challenging her to glare back. He was a little surprised when she did. She looked so weak.
"Alright, I get it. Just lend me a book or something to occupy myself with." She said crossing her arms.
"No." he said, plugging the wire back but never once breaking eye contact.
"What the fu-?" she began when he pulled her arm and walked over to his bed. He motioned for her to sit down. When she just looked at him questioningly he dropped onto the bed, pulling her along. He just wanted to shut her up and knew she wasn't going to until he occupied her somehow.
"Sasuke, are you-" she said as she fell on him on the bed.
"Just shut up." He sighed as he turned the television on. He started flipping the channels and then asked her "What do you want to watch?"
"Don't you have home...?"
"Why do you talk so much?" he sighed as he increased the volume.
"I'm okay with anything you want to watch." She sighed as she sat up from him.
Sasuke flipped the channels to a horror movie and Hinata stiffened a little. "Are you scared?" he smirked. "No way." She said, trying to look tough.
He leaned back on the bed, hands behind his head, looking smug. She rolled her eyes but turned to the television too. Sasuke lent her a pillow and they both leaned against the pillows and started watching the movie.
Sasuke pulled some crisps out of a drawer by his bed and put it between them and then dimming his room lights with a remote.
They both did not speak and just watched the movie. Then, came the scary parts. When the hand reached out of nowhere in the movie, Sasuke flinched and Hinata let out a strangled cry.
Then, the girl in the movie let out a high pitched scream and Hinata shouted with her, suddenly jumping on Sasuke, holding on to him.
"Jesus, what is wrong with you?" asked Sasuke, who himself almost jumped out of his skin when Hinata jumped on him "I thought you were not scared."
"I am a little." She said, scooting closer to him and holding on to him with one arm. He rolled his eyes and let her be. They watched the movie till 11:30, until it finished. Hinata had screamed herself hoarse and Sasuke had started to think maybe watching a horror movie wasn't such a good idea.
"Um...I guess I'll go to sleep now." She said, getting up when the movie was over. He nodded and took a deep breath. She walked off the bed, stumbled into a chair, then stepped away and tripped over a remote and finally bumped into the door. Sasuke brightened the room with the remote with a sigh.
She nodded in thanks and left the room hurriedly. Sasuke, feeling tired, went and brushed his teeth, falling asleep sooner than he normally would.

"Sasuke...?" someone called him.
He was having another one his weird nightmares. He saw the girl again, running ahead with the light emitting from her, while he chased her in the darkness.
"Sasuke" someone said again, and he opened his eyes groggily.
"What the fuc...?" he said as he sat up.
He was startled to see someone's eyes directly above him. He moved his head up quickly, and resulted in bumping into that someone.
"Ouch." The person said.
It was Hinata. She was wearing a tank top and shorts and was sitting on his bed.
"Hyuga, what the fuck are doing here now?" he asked, annoyed and surprised.
"I'm scared." She admitted.
"Of what?!" he growled. She had woke him up for that?
"I just am! I don't want to sleep alone." She said, blushing, "And I couldn't go to anyone else."
Damn right she couldn't. But that did not mean she should have woken him up. And just because she was scared at that.
Her face seemed comfortingly illuminant in the dim lights and with a jolt; Sasuke realized she was the girl he was always seeing in his dreams. Had been since he was 6.
As he had grown, the girl had grown too. Now he knew why. His subconscious remembered her. Even if he didn't. But why did he dream about her? Lighting up the dark too? That was kind of unnerving.
He breathed out, before answering her. "What do you want me to do about it?" he asked, patiently.
"I...can I sleep here tonight?" she asked, shyly.
What? Did she realize what she was saying? She could most certainly not sleep with him. What was he? Her mother or something?
But they were engaged. And he had shown her the movie. He mentally kicked himself. He decided he would never get involved in any activities with girls again if he could help it.
"You realize what if will look like if you sleep here with me?" he raised his eye brows, propping himself on one elbow. Thank God he had decided to sleep in his shirt tonight.
"We are engaged though" Hinata said, before getting up from his bed. "You're right. I'll...I'll just go and sleep in my room."
He noticed she looked scared of her wits while walking towards his door. Sometimes, he hated himself for being a 'nice' person.
"Hyuga.." he called, tiredly.
"Yeah?" she asked stopping and looking back. She looked just like the Hinata he saw in his dreams right now.
"You can sleep here." he said. He knew he would regret it later. Her face brightened even in the dim lights and she almost ran to the bed.
"Thank you! I'll never call you not nice again. And I won't even mind if you're a jerk or you're rude." She said, climbing his bed.
He sighed. He was already regretting calling her. He told her to take the right side of the bed while he kept the left one. She smiled and pulled the covers to her chin.
He sighed and looked at the ceiling, feeling tired. He was almost asleep when Hinata called his name. "Sasuke?"
"What?" he growled, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"Do you...like someone from school?" she asked, timidly. What the hell was she thinking of right now?
"Do I look like I like someone?" he asked, frowning. She changed her side to look at him and shook her head.
"Whatever. Sleep. And just for the record, I'm never letting you live this down." He said, turning to go to sleep. He felt her shift, and then, he shut his eyes and went to sleep.

Hinata woke up early, by force of habit. She felt very snug and comfortable. She wondered how she had gotten so warm and cozy. Her back was pressed against a hard surface and it felt good. She felt secure and very comfortable.
She wanted to go to sleep again. As she tried to shift her body, she felt bound by something. She could not move. 'What the hell?' she thought as she wriggled again. She felt the hold tighten and she realized she was laying with Sasuke, his arms around her waist and her back pressed against his chest.
He let out a hum of protest when she tried to move again and his arms tightened around her and he buried his face into her hair. He was...snuggling with her. The situation was too laughable to believe.
She felt her body heat. This was embarrassing. At least he was not awake. Who would have known the heartthrob of Konoha high, dubbed as Ice Prince, liked to snuggle with others.
She put her arms on his strong ones, and tried to loosen his hold, which was unsuccessful. She glanced at the clock; it was 6:30 a.m. if someone saw them like this it would be very excruciatingly embarrassing.
"I have to get back right now." She said to herself. She had an idea, she turned her side and cuddled with Sasuke, pressed against him but cuddling with him. As if unconsciously he was aware that she was not struggling anymore, he loosened his hold.
She slipped out of his arms very, very slowly and put a pillow in her place. Then, she ran out of his room, red in the face. It was her fault, she decided, for going to him. She would not tell him what had happened.
As she got into bed, she felt cold and thought of Sasuke's bed. However embarrassing, it had felt nice, she decided as she looked out the window, before pulling the covers over her head and going to sleep again.

Sasuke felt really fresh and willing to get up when his alarm started ringing at 7:30 despite the events of the night. He opened his eyes after dismissing the alarm, to find that he was hugging a pillow tightly. What the...?
He looked around. Hinata was gone. She must have woken up before him and left. Good for her. He did not want to remember how she had come to him.
He threw the pillow and got out of bed to take a shower. Strange, he thought, he usually did not hug pillows. Hell, he did not hug things while sleeping.
And how had he slept so peacefully and how did he feel fresh despite the hectic night? Whatever the reason was, he was glad he was good to go.
He dressed into his white polo and the usual school uniform before pulling on his basketball jacket and his bag. Today was Thursday, which only left 2 days till the match. They also had practice today.
He walked downstairs and saw his brother and father on the table, while his mother was cooking. "Sasu-chan." Itachi smirked and greeted him.
"Morning." He said, before he could stop himself.
"Are my ears hearing properly or did my youngest son just say morning." Fugaku said, putting the newspaper down.
"Blame it on his company." Itachi smirked.
"Yes, Hinata is such a nice girl, she was bound to rub off on him." Mikoto smiled.
"Where is she anyways?" Fugaku asked, sipping his coffee. It had been a while since he had seen the little girl and he'd like to see her.
"She must still be asleep. Sasuke, could you go check on her?" Mikoto asked, preparing his breakfast. Sasuke shrugged and started walking towards the stairs.
"He seems agreeable this morning." Itachi said, surprised that his brother did not evade this. Fugaku also nodded.
Sasuke walked upstairs towards Hinata's room. He knocked. There was no response. He walked inside and saw a lump on the bed. She was still asleep.
He walked to her and saw her face on the pillow, looking peaceful, her hair spread on the pillow around her face. He wondered if she would wake up with a kiss. He smirked at the thought before touching her forehead.
It was still hot. She could not go to school after all. "Hinata" he said, surprised at how easily her name had slipped out of his mouth this morning.
She furrowed her brows and moved a little. He watched her intently. She suddenly opened her eyes. She saw him and sat up abruptly.
"Do you want breakfast now?" he asked.
"Is it time for breakfast?" she asked. He nodded. "I'll be down in a few." She said, throwing the covers aside. Sasuke stepped aside to let her get off the bed.
She ran into the bathroom. He wondered if he should wait for her or not. Meh, be it. He sat down on her bed and looked around. How had she been scared in here?
She stepped out after a few minutes, her hair combed, teeth brushed and clothes changed into a lavender jacket over a mesh top (the mesh was visible below her collarbone) and Capri pants.
"Let's go." She said, and looked at him, a little flustered. He wondered what her problem was before following her out of the room.
They walked downstairs in silence. They entered the kitchen and Hinata said "Good Morning" causing everyone to look at her.
Itachi's jaw had dropped as had seen the little girl he had known when he picked her up on behalf of Sasuke. She had been so little, 5 years old, and now, she stood in front of him as a young woman. Her boyish hair had grown into long midnight blue tresses which reached her lower back. Her body had developed almost dramatically. She had grown into a beautiful young woman, desirable and likeable.
Fugaku almost spat out his coffee at the sight of Hiashi's oldest daughter. He really would not believe it was her if she didn't see her eyes, which were still soft lavender, not at all harsh, unlike the other Hyugas. Her skin was still creamy and her smile was still beautiful. He wondered what his daughter would look like, if he had one. She was the closest thing he would have to a daughter, so he had to make sure to watch out for her.
Mikoto smiled and said "Good morning. How are you feeling?"
"I'm fine." Hinata said, sitting down on a stool next to Sasuke. Mikoto passed her toast, coffee and jam. "How are you Mr. Uchiha, Itachi-san?"
"We're fine. And please drop the formalities. Call me Itachi and he's Fugaku." Itachi smiled as he moved his arm to shake her hand. She smiled back and shook his hand.
"Hinata, you have grown so much." Fugaku actually smiled. Hinata nodded. "I remember you from the meeting last year." She said.
"You were there? I thought that was your mother, Hana." Fugaku said, looking shocked.
"She does look a lot like her mother, doesn't she?" Mikoto smiled as she took her in. Sasuke rolled his eyes and began to eat.
"You'll stay at home today?" Itachi questioned. Hinata nodded. "Mrs- Mother said I need my rest." Hinata explained softly.
"You're making her call you mother already?" Fugaku smirked.
"Well she's going to marry Sasuke and have lots of kids so why shouldn't she?" Mikoto said calmly while Hinata, Sasuke and Itachi simultaneously chocked on their food.
Itachi began choking hard and fell to the floor, not being able to breathe. Hinata started to cough and Sasuke swallowed his cereal, blue in the face. While Hinata and Sasuke were resuscitating Itachi, Mikoto and Fugaku were looking at each other in a challenging way.
"What is wrong with you both?" Sasuke growled as he and Hinata finally got Itachi to breathe and made him sit up with Hinata making him drink water.
"Nothing." Mikoto said "Itachi dear, do stop eating so hurriedly that you choke."
Everyone looked at Mikoto with their gazes murderous. She continued to eat like nothing happened. "Well, I'll leave then." Sasuke said.
Sasuke walked out of the wooden doors with his mother calling out "Have a good day sweetie" from behind. His ears turned red while Fugaku, Itachi and Hinata exchanged looks before determinedly bowing down their heads for their food and avoiding Mikoto's eyes.
Hinata had to admit though, the Uchiha were interesting. Very comfortable with each other and supportive enough (from what she had seen). A bit enthusiastic but also comfortable.

"Bastard, where's Hinata-chan?" Naruto's voice rang in his ears just as he stepped outside of his convertible. Naruto looked over to the passenger seat and also the backseat for good measure, just to find it empty, aside from Sasuke's bag pack and jacket.
"She is still not well." Sasuke said. Naruto looked slightly crestfallen but then perked up.
"Wait, how do you know she's not okay?" Naruto asked raising his brow in suspicion. Typical. Sasuke sighed before gathering his things and locking his car.
"Because she's at my place." Sasuke said, walking towards the huge school building. Naruto stood there for a while processing what Sasuke had just said. Hinata? At Sasuke's place? How?
By the time he started calling after Sasuke and running to catch up to him, Sasuke had walked inside the building. Some people gave Naruto the annoyed looks while the others looked at him with a grin, admiring him.
"What do you mean Hinata-chan is at your place? You kidnapped her, didn't you?" he accused him loudly "You're trying to get back at her because she rejected your offer for a ride?" Even Naruto could not make the connection.
"Oh sure, I kidnapped her and then told you, the biggest loudmouth to keep my secret." Sasuke rolled his eyes, putting his assignment in his bag pack "And shut up Naru-tard."
"Why is she at your place then?" Naruto asked, thinking of the Uchiha Compounds where he went frequently.
"She's a family friend's daughter. My mother is taking care of her." Sasuke said, knowing Naruto would not quit until he told him what he wanted to know.
"Oh. How is she though?" Naruto asked, satisfied now.
"She's fine." Sasuke slammed his locker shut to glance at the locker next to him, which was alone. Usually, Hinata would be there chatting with friends. Thank god. Less noise to deal with, he smirked inside.
"Bastard, stop looking so smug, I'll come to see her this evening." Naruto said, looking at Sasuke. Sasuke's smirk vanished.
"How about I just tell her you send your regards?" he asked tiredly, knowing Naruto would come anyways.
"Nope. I'll come to see her."
"Whatever." Sasuke sighed as Naruto left for his own locker. Sasuke spotted Sakura, Ino and Tenten walking together, gossiping.
"Ohayo Sasuke-kun. Where's Hinata-chan?" Sakura asked, spotting him too.
"Why does everyone ask me that?" he asked, sighing.
"Maybe because of this." Tenten pointed to her phone. A blog was open there. It had a picture of Sasuke's car parked outside Hinata's house. The picture was taken yesterday.
"Uchiha Sasuke and Hyuga Hinata?" read the title. Sasuke snatched the phone to take a better look.
Yesterday, anonymous source has provided the school blog with a picture of the school's heartthrob Uchiha Sasuke's car parked outside one of the most popular and desired girls in Konoha High, Hyuga Hinata's house. Is there something going on? Many people have seen the two most popular individuals of KHS together but no one has taken much notice as they are known as family friends and business associates. But does this picture claim something else? Is something going on between them?
We'll update the latest information as soon as we get it. What is your opinion? Sasuke+Hinata= SasuHina
Yay or Nay?
Give us your feedback on the blog of Konoha High.
Sasuke stared at the blog post for a full minute before resisting the urge to slap away Tenten's phone. He handed it to her quietly. "So is this true?" Ino looked at him suspiciously.
"Of course not." Tenten said, angry that Ino would even consider such a thing.
"Where does the school blog sprout this bullshit from anyways?" Sasuke said as he stuffed his hands in his pockets and walked off to the classroom.
SasuHina, he wondered. That was such a shitty name. What about Hyuchiha or Sanata or something? Wait...why was he even thinking that? He didn't even like her. She didn't even like him. Despite being engaged, there were no romantic feelings between them.
He was aware of the stink eye of the boys and the puppy eyes looks of the fan girls. He simply went to class. And his only thought was: Neji is not going to like this.
