______
"Take care Hinata. I love you both." Hana said as she kissed Hinata and Neji. Neji smiled and shifted his suitcase. Hinata smiled affectionately too.
"I will mom. You guys take care too." Hinata said warmly.
"And also, remember Mikoto invited you to her house this weekend. Do not forget." Hana reminded her. Hinata nodded.
Mikoto had called her mother and asked her to come to Japan to which Hana had assured she would. Mikoto further asked Hana to tell Hinata she was to come to the Uchiha residence that weekend to discuss God knew what.
Hinata hugged her mother one last time and looked at Neji. "Let's go."
He nodded, cast his aunt a last glance and walked out of the main door. Hinata followed throwing a smile at her mother and reassuring her. Hanabi was still asleep as they had an early flight; she had said her good bye last night and Hiashi had left two days before for another tour of his.
There was only one week remaining of their summer holidays and they were going back to Japan now. Hinata would miss the states as usual but she also missed her friends; Ino, Sakura, Temari and Tenten. Gaara and Kiba too. Most of all, she missed Uzumaki Naruto, her boyfriend.
She had met Toneri yesterday. He had looked sad to know she was leaving. "It's okay. We'll stay in touch after you come to Japan. We can meet up and also hang out after matches."
He had looked reassured and they had departed with sweet words and a hug.
She sighed as their driver pulled into the airport. It was 5 a.m. She yawned and rubbed her eyes. Neji smiled fondly as he put an arm around her and pulled her to his side closely.
They sat in the lounge, waiting for their flight to board. She looked at her phone. There was a text from Naruto and a lot of messages from the group which comprised of all her girl friends.
I'm so glad you're coming back tomorrow.
Hinata smiled. She missed him too. She texted him back with a 'Me too. See you soon.'
She was going to check all of her other messages when she received another message. Itachi Uchiha.
Hinata-chan, your mother informed me you were coming home soon. I hope you have a safe flight. I look forward to seeing you this weekend at the Uchiha Compounds. Sasuke says hi.
Hinata doubted Sasuke would say hi after what had happened. That had been a month ago. A month since they had both seen each other.
She still could not believe she had let him kiss her like that. Furthermore, she could not believe how she had actually kissed him back. But kissing him had felt so...right. She could not even remember what had happened without getting lost thinking about him. She had never felt so content kissing Naruto.
Sasuke Uchiha. Who was he? He was a star basketball player for starters. He was an Uchiha. An arrogant Uchiha. He was the most handsome boy in school, no lies. He was also a jerk. He was her fiancé. He had helped her many times. He had beaten up Itsuki for her. He had kissed her.
What would she do now? Would he just pretend like nothing had happened? Did he like her? Did...did she like him? The very thought made her heart drop. She was supposed to like Naruto. She did like him, didn't she?
She groaned. "Hina, something wrong?" Neji asked from besides her. She shook her head.
"Our flight is boarding, come on." He said, taking her hand. She dragged her suitcase containing all her new clothes (which her mother and sister insisted on buying for her) and assignments for school.
She sat down in her assigned seat beside Neji. Her seat was beside the window. She leaned back in her seat and closed her eyes. This would be a long flight.
_________
Sasuke stopped breathing as he looked out his window. A car had just stopped in front of his house. A girl with long hair tied in a ponytail stepped out. She was wearing shades and a mesh jacked over a red tanktop and denim shorts with knee length boots.
He would recognize that figure and that hair shade anywhere. Hinata Hyuga. What the fuck was she doing here? She was not supposed to be here. Not after what had happened at the party. And how was she driving? Seems like she finally learnt.
Ugh...he was getting sidetracked. Why had his mother called her here?? He was not going to face her. He determinedly moved back from the window and sat in front of his gaming system. He turned it on and tried to ignore whatever was going to happen downstairs.
Hinata knocked on the Uchiha compounds door. She sighed as she fiddled with her fan pendant. She always wore it to the Uchiha Compounds.
"Hinata." Said Fugaku as he opened the door, smiling slightly.
"Hi Mr. Uchiha." She said, smiling as he shook hands with her.
"What, no Father this time?" he asked with a smirk identical to Sasuke's. Hinata smiled widely and shook her head.
"That works too. Come on, Mikoto is waiting in the living room." Fugaku said.
Hinata smiled and followed him into the living room. The sight of Mikoto sitting and talking animatedly to Izumi, who looked extraordinarily happy sitting with Itachi on the couch, who looked slightly bored.
"Hey everyone." Hinata said as she walked in.
"My favorite daughter is here!" Mikoto said as she stood up excitedly to hug Hinata. Hinata smiled as Mikoto hugged her.
"Hey-I thought I was your favorite daughter." Said Izumi as she smiled at Hinata softly. Itachi and Fugaku rolled their eye simultaneously.
"You don't have a daught-" Itachi began but shut up wisely under his mother's gaze. Hinata smiled and walked to Izumi and moved her hand to shake Izumi's but Izumi hugged her instead. One thing was for sure, the Uchihas were way more affectionate than the Hyuga.
"Hinata." Itachi said as he also hugged her.
"Okay so what's going on? Why do you all look so happy?" Hinata asked, curiously smiling.
"Fugaku could you get us all some drinks?" Mikoto asked her husband who obliged happily. "Can I help?" Itachi asked.
Fugaku shrugged before they both left the room. "Okay so basically..." Izumi began.
"My baby is getting married!" Mikoto said with tears of happiness.
"Itachi's getting married?" Hinata exclaimed, happy for Izumi.
"Yeah well he proposed years ago but when he came back he told me he...loved me and that he wanted to get married now." Izumi blushed.
"I don't quite believe that's all that happened but moving on." Hinata said mischievously. Izumi blushed harder and Mikoto laughed.
"Anyways, they're getting married next month in Autumn...isn't that wonderful?" Mikoto asked.
"It is. Congratulations. You guys are perfect for each other." Hinata told Izumi, taking one of her hands.
"I know....I'm just so happy. It's finally going to happen."
"Well....you and Sasuke are certainly next." Fugaku said, returning with the drinks and handing them out.
"Hah, hah." Hinata laughed nervously. Itachi looked like he knew something but then he looked like he always had.
Hinata sipped her drink. "I want grandbabies soon. Yours and Sasuke's babies will be perfect" And she chocked on her drink.
"Aww...she's embarrassed." Izumi cooed. Itachi was the only one with common sense it seemed as he moved to rub her back.
"Where is Sasuke anyways?"
"In his room probably. I'll go get him." Itachi said getting up.
"So have they decided where they are going to get married?" Hinata asked as she watched Itachi go.
"Yes, the rose gardens in Konoha. They're the perfect location for getting married." Izumi swooned.
"Does Itachi like it too?" Hinata asked.
"Honestly, he would not mind getting married in this living room today. He just hates the wedding preparations." Izumi sighed.
"Boys will be boys." Mikoto told them, looking at Fugaku who was almost asleep from boredom. They started discussing the wedding preparations.
They were just discussing the dress arrangements when Itachi and Sasuke walked into the room. Sasuke looked grumpy but then his gaze shifted to Hinata.
Sasuke looked at her intensely and she returned the gaze. The room was full of chemistry."Hi." She breathed out, to bring it to normal.
"Hi." He said as he took a seat besides Izumi. She smiled and swatted him on his head in a friendly gesture. He did not bat an eyelash as he looked at Hinata.
"So Sasuke, we were just discussing the wedding arrangements with Hinata." Itachi said gently.
"Cool." He said, looking at him and leaning back on the sofa.
"So then it's decided. Shisui is going to be Itachi's best man." Mikoto said and Itachi nodded. That worked for him.
"Izumi, who do you want to be your maid of honor?"
"Hinata of course." Izumi replied in a heartbeat.
"Me?" she asked weakly.
"Of course you. We're supposed to be sisters because of these two." Izumi smiled.
Hinata smiled, feeling touched. She considered it an honor that Izumi considered her a sister. "We are."
________
Mikoto had insisted Hinata stay over for Dinner. Fugaku, Itachi and Izumi mysteriously disappeared from the living room to help, leaving only Hinata and Sasuke.
"So you finally learnt to drive."
"Yeah." Hinata said, smiling to herself.
"Good. That will be handy someday." He said.
There was silence. Then she said. "Sasuke..."He looked at her, willing her to question whatever she had in mind. "Why did you kiss me?"
He looked away. Weighing his options he said. "Because I was drunk."
"So it was completely out of lust?" she asked, not knowing why it hurt.
He shrugged. "That and you're my fiancé."
"Sasuke, you don't care about that."
"You don't know that." He said his eyes icy.
"Then tell me."
"Stay out of my business."
"Your business? I need to know if you have feelings for me. You kissed me!".
He did not trust himself to answer as he spoke. "And I meant it." He muttered more to himself as he rose to go.
"Do you like me?" she asked, blushing as she had heard his answer. He stopped for a long moment before he turned around and answered her.
He could...no, he should tell her, argued with himself. But, she's dating your best friend a voice reasoned. She's my fiancé, he argued. Naruto. The inner voice shut him up.
And he knew he could never tell her now.
"No Hinata, I don't." he said as he left the room. Hinata sat there dumbly before she rose, an unexpected pang in her chest as she excused to Mikoto before rushing out of the house to her car and driving away.
__________
Naruto smiled before he hugged Hinata from behind as she jumped from the surprise, before realizing it was him.
"Naruto, you startled me." She said, half mad and half smiling.
"You like it." He said, turning her around. She rolled her eyes. He lowered his head to kiss her but she felt something inside her hesitate. She looked behind Naruto to see Sasuke and she almost felt relieved. Naruto also turned to look behind him.
"Sasuke, hey."
"Dobe. Hyuga." He acknowledged.
"Let's all walk to literature together." Naruto said, refraining from kissing her yet.
Sasuke shook his head. "You both go on. I don't want to interrupt anything."
Naruto looked at Sasuke's retreating back before turning to Hinata who looked angry. Naruto was puzzled. He would not think about it normally but somehow, he thought he had heard a slightly accusing and bitter side in Sasuke's tone.
He wondered what was wrong.
____
Sasuke sighed. He had seriously messed up at his place hadn't he? Why had he even kissed her? He groaned. Everything was so stupid. The worst thing was he could not control his emotions like everything else in his perfect life.
"Hey man, you okay?" his best friend's voice spoke besides him.
"Huh? Yeah. Why?" Sasuke asked, surprised Naruto had noticed.
"You've been weird since you came back from the states. Everything cool?" Naruto asked, his voice unusually concerned.
"Yeah. Everything's cool." Sasuke said, cursing in his head. Was he that pathetic that even Naruto had sensed he was worried? But then again, Naruto could be pretty perceptive when he wanted to be.
"Alright. I thought something was wrong earlier. Did you and Hinata fight or something?"
Damn it. "No. We didn't." he assured Naruto.
"Okay, in that case, let's go practice man. We have a match next week to win against sound." Naruto hollered loudly and the boys yelled in unison before walking out of the boys' locker rooms.
Sasuke smiled slightly before recomposing his stoic demeanor and walking out of the room. The basketball practice seemed to occupy his mind on other things. He played with full spirit. Neji seemed satisfied with the practice that evening.
The girls were already done and had left, except for Hinata who had showered, changed and was now sitting in the bleachers because she had to go home with Neji. She could drive but Neji had told her to go with him.
She cheered as the boys finished up their practice session. She stood up and walked down towards them and Sasuke sighed. This would be very, very awkward because of Naruto and Neji's presence.
"I'll see you later." Sasuke said, walking away from the three who were bickering behind his back. Sasuke went into the showers and emerged drying his hair. Perks of being in an elite school were, the bathrooms were awesome.
He walked to the parking lot with his bag pack and his keys. Now that Mist Village had won against stone, Konoha was up against Sound and Mist against Moon High. That left Stone vs. Cloud. This would determine the top three teams.
He walked to his car, slid in and drove off.
_______
The wedding preparations were done. Everyday his mom and Izumi had left for shopping, fittings, arrangements along with Itachi sometimes.
Sasuke made sure to maintain his distance. The match had been held in Sound a few days ago and everyone was happy since Konoha had given a smashing performance. Zaku and his cronies had tried to mess with Konoha's cheerleaders but they'd kicked their assess.
Now he just needed to get over with Itachi's wedding soon. For now, he'd sit in his room and watch Sherlock Holmes.
Meanwhile downstairs at the Uchiha Compounds, Hinata stared at the dress on the bed in front of her. It was white, frilly with nettings on the lower side, with a flower at her middle lace which would be right around her stomach. The backside was plain and the dress was strapless.
This was the dress she was going to wear as the maid of honor. And she liked it. She had never been one to love frills too much but she did not mind them either.
She had 4 inch heels to match. They were white, had thin straps to hold her feet and were comfortable to walk in.
"Do you like it?" Mikoto asked. Izumi also looked at her expectantly as they stood in Itachi's current bedroom, watching the dress.
"I love it!" Hinata exclaimed, making the other women smile.
"See I knew it!" Mikoto said while Izumi just hugged Hinata shouting happily. Izumi's dress was also white, deciding on a western style wedding, but it was longer with a wide lace at the hem. Her veil was of the most delicate netting and her heels were similar to Hinata's, only containing small flowers on sides.
"We will look so good!" Izumi said, happily.
The wedding was tomorrow and all the arrangements were complete. "Hinata, you will be staying over tonight of course, and tomorrow you will both get ready by the professional dressers I have called and everything will be perfect!"
Mikoto gushed on. "I can't believe I'm going to get married tomorrow." Izumi said, dreamily. Hinata smiled smugly.
"I can. Itachi's been driving us all crazy; thank god it's finally happening." Izumi glared at Hinata playfully.
"Hinata, I'll get the dinner ready with Izumi. You should go and have fun. Why don't you go out with Sasuke? He was meeting up some friends." Mikoto suggested.
"Eh-I don't think..."
"Go on, don't be shy." Izumi pushed. Hinata sweat dropped before deciding to comply. She moved out of Itachi's room and made her way to Sasuke's room down the hall.
She knocked on the door lightly. "What?" came Sasuke's voice.
She entered. "Hi."
He stared at her before asking. "What are you doing here?"
"The wedding's tomorrow. I'm going to spend the night here." She informed him as a matter of fact.
"Why are you spending the night in my room?" he sighed tiredly. She flushed immediately.
"I meant your house!" Sasuke smirked when she looked red "And your mom sent me here."
"Of course she did." Sasuke rolled his eyes. "Sit right down." He motioned to his chair. He was watching television. And he was shirtless.
"Could you put on a shirt?" she asked. He smirked. "I could but I don't want to. It's my room." He informed her.
She rolled her eyes and sat down on his chair. He was watching a show called 'Sherlock Holmes'. What was that?
"What's the show about?" she asked him, glancing at the screen.
"This is a detective. This is his....partner. They solve mysteries." He said. Hinata soon familiarized herself with the characters. The show was actually interesting.
But the chair was not too comfortable. She shifted in her chair for the millionth time when Sasuke finally sighed. "You can come on the bed."
"Not until you put a shirt on." She told him "I don't want you to get the wrong impression." He rolled his eyes. He turned back to the screen.
They kept watching the show for some time, until Mikoto knocked on the door. "Dinner is ready." She announced.
"Alright." Hinata said, getting up to leave. Sasuke watched her go with a scowl. She was so annoying, and yet he could not resist her.
_______
Sasuke fidgeted with the bow of his black and white tuxedo just like he used to as a child. Itachi scowled. "Sasuke, shut up moving and let me do this."
Sasuke sighed and tried to stand still. "There." Itachi said, smiling softly.
They both just stood in the dressing room awkwardly. Sasuke was sure he was supposed to say something. His brother just stood there, looking at him.
"Uh-congrats on, you know....getting married." Sasuke offered and he mentally face palmed himself. How eloquent.
Itachi smiled understandingly. "Its just that...it's happening."
Sasuke smiled genuinely for once and Itachi knew. "Izumi's a great girl. She loves you man, I'm so happy for you." Sasuke admitted to Itachi.
"What better way to approve of her than bicker with her constantly." Itachi smirked. Sasuke smiled.
"You know, you bicker constantly with Hinata too." Sasuke shook his head when Itachi added that part.
"Don't go there Itachi. It's never going to happen."
"You know mom and dad say you're next. Why don't you like her?" he asked.
"I do." The words slipped out before Sasuke could stop them. Itachi paused.
"Itachi, please, this is your day. Let's focus on you." Sasuke said, trying to change the topic.
"We will talk about this later then." Itachi asserted. Sasuke sighed. He knew they would. "Aren't you supposed to be super nervous about whether she really wants to marry you or is she confused or something right now?" he asked.
"Izumi would never do that to me." Itachi said, calmly and then turning slightly nervous "Would she?"
Sasuke smirked. Every dog had its day. It was his turn to torture Itachi. "You never know about girls." Sasuke said, innocently.
Itachi gulped. Sasuke laughed out. Suddenly, Shisui entered the room, looking very worried and sad. "Itachi, you're never going to believe this."
"What?" Itachi asked, also getting slightly worried.
"Izumi is not here. She...she disappeared. And she left a note, saying she couldn't go through with this." Shisui said his expression sad and deadpanned.
Itachi suddenly went pale. "She...she left?" he asked feebly. Shisui lowered his head. Itachi sat down, looking like he was going to have a cardiac arrest when Shisui burst out laughing along with Sasuke.
"KAMI, KAMI I GOT YOU SO GOOD! LOOK AT YOUR FACE!" Shisui said, tears coming out of his eyes with laughing so hard. Sasuke was also laughing, clutching to the dresser's side, tears in his eyes too.
Itachi stood up abruptly and his eyebrow twitched. "This isn't funny Shisui. I'm going to KILL YOU!" he said, running after his cousin and trying to catch him.
Shisui and Sasuke cackled. They were still running when Fugaku entered the room. He looked at them quizzically. "What is going on here?"
Sasuke stopped to catch his breath and Shisui kept on laughing. Itachi sighed before turning to his father. "Shisui is just being...a jerk."
"Ouch. My heart." Shisui said, faking a hurt tone. Sasuke smirked and Itachi rolled his eyes.
"Everyone is waiting for you. Come along." Fugaku smiled, proudly at his son.
Sasuke and Shisui walked ahead, giving the son and father some privacy. Fugaku looked happy and proud of his son and he did want to exchange some words.
Sasuke walked towards the decorated venue. The altar was decorated beautifully with white and gray colours. There were pink ribbons around the chairs and everything looked beautiful. Sasuke smiled at the people coming to sit beside each other and everyone knew each other because Itachi and Izumi were of the same clan.
Sasuke waved at one of his cousins who waved at him. Another clan member girl with pretty dark hair winked at him and he looked away. Not that again. Shisui was looking at someone. Sasuke followed his gaze to the bride.
Izumi was pretty before but right now, she looked so stunning that Sasuke had to gulp. Her long dress reached her ankles. Her long bangs framed her face and the rest of her brown hair was tied in a bun. The mole on her cheek looked more pronounced and made her looked beautiful. Her veil covered her face slightly but Sasuke could see she was smiling. Her bouquet was of pink roses with smooth stems and a silver covering.
Itachi was a lucky man. The people stood up, acknowledging the bride and bridesmaids. There were 2, Izumi's cousins, dressed in rose pink short dresses, reaching their knees and having full sleeves. They were also holding flowers, but white roses.
Mikoto was standing back, having accompanied Izumi to the venue. His mother looked beautiful according to Sasuke, in a bottle green robe, wearing black short heels.
"Man...your fiancé looks..." Shisui trailed off, making Sasuke look at Izumi's other side-who was now standing only a few steps away from the altar. He could feel Shisui walk away from his side to walk to the Altar with Itachi, but he could not look away from one girl.
He literally felt himself stop breathing as he took in Hinata Hyuga's smiling face. She stood next to Izumi, her dress also white but shorter, with frills and laces. He realized he had never seen her wear such a dress before. Her heels were also white and high, making her look considerably taller. Her hair was pulled into a bun, her bangs and a few stray strands framing her delicate face. The kohl made her eyes look bigger and brighter than usual, as she stood holding a similar bouquet to Izumi.
Itachi smiled as he reached Izumi, took her hand and walked up the altar together. Sasuke knew he was supposed to go stand next to Shisui and Itachi now and he did. He walked in a daze, still stunned. And he was mentally berating himself for not expecting her to look so beautiful, as she did.
The vows began and Sasuke noticed the expression of happiness and joy on both Izumi and Itachi's face. He looked over at the guests, a particular blonde catching his attention. Naruto grinned at him and Sasuke smiled back and rolled his eyes later.
No one else from his class was there so whatever. "You may now kiss the bride."
Itachi did kiss her alright. To be honest, it was a bit embarrassing as everyone started wolf whistling. Sasuke grinned and caught Hinata's eyes who was smiling, her cheeks slightly pink at the sight. She looked very happy for his brother.
She kept looking back at him. The music started playing at everyone started the dance. The maid of honor and the best man were supposed to dance along with the bride and the groom.
Sasuke watched Shisui dance with Hinata and lean over and whisper something into her ear, making her blush. Shisui looked back to Sasuke to see his reaction. Sasuke rolled his eyes. If his immature cousin thought that was going to make him jealous....he was right.
Sasuke danced with his Uchiha cousins, who were bent upon latching too close to him. He waited patiently as Naruto danced with Hinata and everyone danced with everyone else.
His mother pushed Hinata towards him, after her dance with Itachi. Sasuke took her appearance in once more before starting the dance.
"You look very handsome Sasuke." She whispered to him, her cheeks turning pink. He looked at her when she said that and smirked. He wanted to kiss her. Right there.
"You don't look too bad either." He told her.
Was it just him, or was everyone looking at them as they danced. And by everyone...he meant everyone. Everyone had even stopped dancing to look at them. Most of the people were holding champagne glasses.
Even Naruto was looking at them with a strange look. Suddenly, Sasuke watched his mother raised her glass and announced.
"Cheers to my handsome son and his beautiful fiancé, hopefully the next couple to be married."
Everyone raised their glasses and cheered but Sasuke's eyes sought Naruto's whose face suddenly went blank. He finally caught on and looked at Sasuke with something like hurt in his eyes.
Sasuke cursed under his breath.
This is going to be so messed up.

Author notes: Well, here is another chapter done.
PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!
By now, everyone should know this is a SASUHINA story but obviously Sasuke is not ready to betray Naruto and he feels guilty for liking HInata while she'd dating his best friend. Hinata likes Sasuke too, don't worry, she's just in denial.
In the next 3 chapters, I promise everything is going to be resolved and there will be a SasuHina ending. I'm just so sorry i'm awkward with romantic scenes, as you might have noticed.
Anyways, tell me what you think. I love the feedback and i think about my next stories, i'll upload a part of the original draft of both Supernatural AU and Hogwarts AU. it will be up to you guys to decide.
So vote, comment and follow. Let me know what you think and until next time.
