"Oh damn." Said Hinata as she looked at the clock. She had to be at the ball by 9 and it was already 8:10. She had lost count of time while reading the book she had bought. Her mother was going to kill her.

She rushed into the bathroom to take a quick shower. She proceeded to dry her hair and walk to her room to pick out a dress. She chose an amethyst gown which skimmed her ankles. It had a tube neck which showed off her slender neck. The sleeves reached her fingers and she wore pencil heals underneath.

For jewelry, she chose a simple diamond set. The tops were simple enough while the locket was sleek and beautiful. She glanced at the clock. 8:50. she used light makeup and kohl before picking up her delicate handbag and walking out of the room.

Downstairs, her mother was sitting, with a curt expression. "I was just about to come check on you." she said.

Hinata sighed, knowing it already. Her mother eyed her critically. "Hinata, you look beautiful." She said, touching her hair slightly, which was loose and cascading down her back in straight waves.

"Thank you." she said "I should go now."

"You should. I'll ask the driver to take you there." Her mother said. Hinata nodded.

A few minutes later, she was sitting in the car, going to the ball. She smiled, remembering her challenge with Sasuke. Speaking of which, what was wrong with him the other day?

He was acting really strange and bossy. Hinata hoped he had gotten over that by now. She smiled wider, thinking of Toneri and how he would also be there.

Sasuke pulled at the neck of his white shirt which was a part of his black tuxedo. He was wearing the black vest over a white shirt and black pants and boots, making him look handsome enough. His black hair was pulled back, using gel to make them stay down.

As a result, when he had walked into the ball room, the present girls had started staring at him with their mouths agape. The boys looked slightly concerned while the elders welcomed him.

"Shisui, what are you looking at?" Sasuke asked when his cousin kept staring at something for ten minutes straight.

"Have you seen these girls?" Shisui asked, his tone suggestive.

"Yes." Sasuke said "And I think they're creepy looking at us like that."

"Eh, that's one of the benefits of having Uchiha genes." Shisui smirked, walking towards a brunette to try his luck.

It was 9:10 and many people were still arriving. Sasuke walked towards the snack table, bored out of his mind despite it only being ten minutes since his arrival.

The music playing in the back ground was pleasant and everyone was talking to his or her acquaintances. Sasuke sipped on some punch, looking at the door. Hinata and that Toneri had still to arrive.

Hold that thought, he could see Hinata walking inside. And...she looked gorgeous. That amethyst dress looked pretty good on her. Then again, she was pretty anyways. He smirked unknowingly. She smiled at their host, Mr. Kenta Yamamoto who had was greeting everyone.

She was talking to him about something but he was staring right at her...assets. Sasuke felt a surge of annoyance. What a pervert. Hinata kept talking, oblivious of Kenta. That's when Sasuke thought he should make an appearance.

He walked towards their host and cleared his throat. Kenta looked at him, slightly ashamed. "Thank you for receiving her, Mr. Yamamoto but I will handle it from here." Sasuke said, his eyes ice cold while taking Hinata's hand and walking away.

"Hello." She said.

"Hello yourself." He said, leading her to his previous place by the snack table. He could see the boys staring at Hinata. He rolled his eyes.

"Is Toneri here?" she asked him and he had to narrow his eyes. That's the first thing she asked?

"I don't see him anywhere. Maybe he felt sick and decided not to come." He said.

"Oh no." Hinata said, not paying attention to his twitching eyes. She really needed to get a clue.

"Whatever." He said, sipping some punch. Hinata looked around the hall, where everyone was still arriving. Some of the people were talking, while the others were just enjoying themselves.

The lights had been dimmed so the atmosphere was pretty...party-ish. Her gaze fell on a boy about her age, who was looking right at her with malicious eyes.

"Hey...is that Itsuki?" she asked Sasuke. Sasuke looked where she was looking to see Itsuki Uchiha standing there with a girl.

"Yeah. He's a cousin. How do you know him?" Sasuke asked her, curious now.

"He's one of Ino's ex-boyfriends." Hinata skipped out on the molestation attempt at the last party.

"Figures." Sasuke mused. He put his glass on the table.

"Let's get on with our challenge then. We stand alone somewhere and after half an hour; we come back here to compare how many people asked to dance with us."

Hinata nodded. "Fine. But if I see Toneri, I engage in conversation with him."

Sasuke shrugged. He walked off somewhere and Hinata walked to the other side of the hall, near a group of young people standing there.

Maybe this wasn't going to be so boring then.

"Hey Sasuke." Someone spoke behind him. He turned to see a familiar face. Karin Uzumaki. What the hell was she doing here?

"Karin." He acknowledged "Why are you here?"

"Did you forget? My father runs the Uzumaki Co." She informed him. Oh right. She was Naruto's cousin and his mom was the owner of Uzumaki industries.

"Did you come alone?" he asked, hoping for some dumb reason Naruto had come along.

"Naruto did not come if you're wondering." She said "He isn't even a true Uzumaki."

Sasuke knew. The two cousins did not get along much. They tried not even to show they knew each other besides being acquaintances in school.

"Good for you."

"Forget about me, did you come alone?" she asked with a sly smile.

"No. I came with my cousin. Why aren't you dancing or whatever?" he said, trying to make her go away.

"That's what I came to ask you about." She said.

"No. I am not dancing with you." he said, tired from all the other dances with girls. It'd been at least an hour since he'd caught sight of Hinata. He turned away but she latched onto his arm as usual.

"Oh come on Sasuke, you always say no. I'm a good dancer, I promise."

"One dance only." He said, knowing she'd never leave otherwise. She grinned and he walked along with her to the dance floor reluctantly. The music changed and he and Karin joined the already dancing couples. He looked out for Hinata but he did not see her.

He hoped she did not see him dancing with Karin because the two did not get along. He sighed. When was Karin going to understand he did not like her?

"What a pleasant surprise to see you here." Hinata's voice rang out. Sasuke cursed under his breath. Karin stopped dancing and looked behind her.

"Hinata Hyuga." She said outloud.

"Nice to see you too Karin." Hinata said, with a cold look.

"What do you want? You interrupted my dance with Sasuke." Karin said sourly.

"Oh I don't care about the dance trust me." Hinata said, looking at Sasuke with the same look which caused him to think he had fucked up as usual. "I came to ask about the..."

"Yeah" he said quickly.

"But I see you're busy." She said, an unexpected surge of annoyance in her at the sight of Karin and Sasuke, as she started to walk away "Oh and if that's the company you keep, try to stay away for the rest of the night, please."

Sasuke just stood there as Hinata walked off. He knew he should not have accepted the dance. But despite her look, he was feeling good. Because was it just him-or did she look almost jealous?

Hinata huffed again. He could dance with anyone he liked, she did not care. He could dance with Sakura, Karin or Neji if he wanted to, she did not give a damn.

But it had stung when she had seen him dance with Karin. He knew she hated Karin. He was a jerk but she did not think he would rub it in her face like that.

She bumped into someone as she was lost in her own thoughts. She cursed under her breath. She turned to see who it was. "I'm so sorr-"

It was Toneri, smiling a gentle smile. "Hey Hinata." He said, pleasantly. Oh how his voice was like music to her ears right now.

"Hey Toneri. You sure took your time coming, huh?"

"I was just reading. Sorry" he rubbed the back of his sheepishly.

"It's okay. Wanna dance?" she asked. He looked surprised before nodding his head once. They walked to the dance area, as far away from Sasuke and Karin as possible.

Toneri held her waist and she wrapped her arms around his neck as they started to dance. He looked amazing in his navy tux which made his almost paper white skin stand out. His shaggy white hair fell into his eyes and made him look handsome.

It was either the light or Toneri's eyes held that soft look she usually associated with Naruto when he was being affectionate.

Must be the lights...she thought as she smiled and enjoyed the dance, determined to have fun, pushing Sasuke to the back of her mind.

It had been an hour and a half since she had been hanging out with Toneri. He had told her many amusing tales and made her laugh. He paid her all his attention and held that affectionate look.

"Hey Toneri, you know you're pretty nice." Hinata told him as they drank punch.

"Hinata, do you want to join me in one last dance?" he asked, glancing at the clock which showed it was pretty late.

"Sure." She said.

They walked to the dance floor where Hinata noticed Sasuke dancing with a brown haired girl, clearly not pleased. He saw her and his eyes quirked up but she ignored him.

The music playing now was soft and romantic. "I have something to tell you." Toneri told her.

"Go on." She said, looking up into his eyes. He breathed in before saying.

"Hinata...I like you a lot. I have since I saw you in that match. You're amazing honestly and....I just like you so much."

He rested his forehead against hers. Her breath caught in her throat. He liked her.

"Toneri...I like you too. But as my friend." She said, her eyes softening at the hurt expression on his face "I'm already in a relationship and....please, I don't want to ruin this."

He smiled sadly. "I understand." He surprised her by with a gentle embrace.

"I'll see you later." He said, walking away hurriedly. Hinata's eyes filled with sorrow at the sight of his slouched shoulders and she hurriedly started walking towards the ladies' room ignoring everyone else.

Hinata walked inside and walked straight to the mirror and the sink. She hoped Toneri would not just vanish from her life. She looked into the mirror and saw her pearl eyes gazing back at herself.

"What's wrong princess?" a boy's voice startled her out of her thoughts.

She looked into the mirror to see Itsuki Uchiha leaning against the wall with a smirk on his face, ice cold expression on his face.

"Itsuki, what the hell are you doing here?" she asked, shocked.

"I just came to check on you Hime." He said, his malicious smirk widening and he started walking towards her.

"This is the ladies' room. Get the hell out." She said, her expression also cold and hard, as she had been taught.

"I will. Just after I deal with some loose ends." He said "Did you think I could let you get away with what happened at the party?" reminding of how she'd kicked his balls at the party after the match because of his antics.

"You were acting like a pedophile. Get out now." She said, inching closer to the exit of the ladies' room. He smirked.

"Hina, I only liked you. Did you have to break my fragile heart like that?" he asked, putting a hand over his heart in a mocking gesture.

"It seemed like the smart thing to do." She said, getting closer to the exit.

"Well it wasn't." He said, suddenly pouncing on her and pinning her to the wall, knocking her breath out of her.

"Uchihas hate with the same intensity as they love, did you know that?" he asked, his eyes red now.

Hinata had an urge to shout but she kept her mouth shut and her eyes steeled. "Oh funny, I did not notice even though I hang around an Uchiha."

"That pretty little mouth of yours is going to be your demise." He said, smirking, cupping her cheek with a hand.

"And your actions will be your demise." She said, kicking him in the balls. He smirked before moving away swiftly.

"That's not going to work twice baby." He said, his smirk growing wider.

Hinata had hoped it would not come to this but she would have to use her martial arts and Hyuga techniques to teach him a lesson, it seemed.

As she was about to do that, a fist collided with Itsuki's jaw with a sick crunch. Blood sprayed out of his mouth as he fell to the floor.

Sasuke proceeded to kick him, his sharingan activated. Itsuki let out a blood curling scream and Hinata flinched. Sasuke did not look like he was going to stop.

"My, my Itsuki, I thought you knew how to treat a lady. It seems I have to teach you after all." Sasuke snarled.

Hinata now felt a slightly fear. What was wrong with Sasuke? Why did he look so murderous? Sharingan......extreme emotions.

Itsuki stood up, standing by the wall, looking angry. "Fuck you Sasuke." He said, before striking Sauke's jaw, making him stumble back. Sasuke smirked at the sight of blood coming from his mouth when he wiped it with his hand.

"This is interesting." He said as he punched Itsuki's stomach, making him stumble. He took his arm and twisted so hard that Itsuki screamed and Hinata feared he might break it.

"Sasuke stop!" she said feebly. He did not hear her, continued to hurt Itsuki. Itsuki let out another blood curdling scream making her flinch. Sasuke did not show any mercy.

Itsuki went limp. Sasuke smirked like a maniac. Hinata yelled "STOP IT"

Sasuke looked at her but did not release Itsuki. Hinata ran to him, grabbing his arms, tears in her eyes. "Please, let him go."

Sasuke's Sharingan de-activated as he released Itsuki. He seemed to snap out of something as he took her arm and walked out of the ladies' room.

"Sas-" she could not say anything as he almost dragged her out of the grand hall. Before walking out, he turned to Kenta and said.

"A boy may need medical assistance in the Ladies' room."

They walked out of there.

Sasuke had watched with utter stillness as Toneri had hugged Hinata. He had kept standing there as she had walked away, almost crying. He had stood there a few minutes, not knowing how to react before deciding to follow Hinata, annoyed.

When he had walked to the door of the ladies' room, he felt embarrassed going in. that was until he heard someone talking inside. A boy.

"That pretty little mouth of yours is going to be your demise."

That was the boy. What the...?

He walked in abruptly, only to see Hinata pinned to the wall by his cousin Itsuki, who was smirking. "That's not going to work twice baby".

Sasuke had felt his sharingan activate and then he had lost control. He knew he punched Itsuki's face. And the next thing he had realized Hinata in tears, telling him to stop and Itsuki on the ground, faint, while his shirt was red with Itsuki's blood.

He had grabbed her, told Kenta about Itsuki and walked out. Now here she stood in front of him, confused and scared.

"I'm sorry about what you just saw." He said, knowing he had scared her. She was quiet for a second before she looked up at him.

"Why did you do that?" she asked.

"Because I had to."

"Sasuke, please." She said, snatching away her arm, tears in her eyes "I appreciate what you did...but I don't want you to get in trouble because of me." She took a deep breath.

"I don't want you having a sense of responsibility about me anymore. I know you're sick of it. I am too. Let's just...I'm just so tired of everything. I hate this engagement because you hate it and we're both..."

He cut her off then. He pressed his lips to hers in a demanding kiss. She was surprised at first and then she kissed him back after a moment. He moved one hand in her hair and the other around her waist while she put her arms around his neck.

He broke away first, resting his forehead on hers he said. "I did it because I wanted him to know that no one messes with my fiancé."

He captured her lips in another passionate kiss. She knew she should not but she found she was responding eagerly. She was pulling on his hair in an attempt to pull him closer while he moved her even closer to him.

They both broke away for air and Sasuke looked at her flushed face while breathing heavily. Good, he thought, he liked that he was the one who made her look like that.

Hinata stared at him for a moment while breathing heavily before stepping back slightly and then running away completely to her car.

Sasuke could relate. He wanted to leave this planet right now. Had he just kissed Hinata Hyuga? He touched his lips. They were tingling.

He now knew why he had been acting the way he had for a couple of days. Why he was snapping at Toneri, why he bossed her around, why he beat up Itsuki and why he noticed her more and more.

Shit. He thought as he realized.

I'm falling for my fiancé. Hyuga Hinata.
