Chapter 2
Chirin woke up to the sounds of the birds chirping in a yet, another unfamiliar room.
She blandly looked around, the room was a plain and simple white with teal cherry blossoms on the corner of the walls, two windows and a chest for her clothes.
Her head immediately snaps to the sliding door.
In came an old man with bandages on his eye with a grey blue short sleeved kimono.
“So you are awake it seems. Come,” he turned around and left for the kitchen with his cane, “Breakfast is ready.”
She followed him to the kitchen with no emotion, just blinked whenever she ate her omurice. “Thank you for the food, sir.”
Danzo gave a closed eyes ‘smile’. “You are to call me Danzo-sama when we're alone and with my Anbu. You can call me grandfather when we are in public. Is that clear?”
She had no control over herself, “Yes sir, Danzo-sama.”
An emotion was about to surface from her, but she couldn't understand it, so she pushed it away.
“Boar, teach the weapon some knowledge. We need her in the academy and to be the top female ninja.”
‘Weapon? I thought it wasn't war time? Hiruzen-jii told me what weapons are. But ho-’
Her thoughts were interrupted by a slap.
Chirin’s neck was snapped to the side so suddenly, her eyes widen for a fraction before returning to their bland features. A stinging tingle of pain lingered on her left cheek.
She turned to her head to the guardian that took her in.
His face looked as if he saw something disgusting.
“Never show me those emotions, you wretched machine! That's not what I created you for!”
The words stung, but she said nothing to defend herself. She did not know what she did wrong.
“I told that fool to take out her nerves!”
He shouts to himself and mutters other words she could not hear.
“Boar, get this weapon trained. I need to fix her tonight.”
The man left the house with a slam and she was taken to her room.
She didn't speak back the whole time she was in there.
By the time Danzo returned, it was dusk.
She was given orders to go without food for two weeks as a punishment for showing emotions.
She didn't sleep, it's not that she didn't feel sleepy. Danzo had given her an order to study all the necessary materials for knowledge of the world and the ninjas.
Morning came by so fast, there was a lot of chatter outside of the house while she was studying.
She just had to check it out.
She saw a boy with ebony hair and some girls making weird noises.
She was jerked back on the shoulder by Danzo who glared at her. He looks to the outside, the grip on his hand loosened.
“Follow him. Ask him to fight you then report back here,” Danzo ordered sternly. All Chirin could do was nod her head.
Once the girls have gone, the white eyed girl jumps out of the window and follows the boy just as Danzo instructed her to do.
She sprinted into a run.
The weird noises of the girls can be heard through the alleyways, they grew closer and closer then finally, she saw the hoard of girls running. She spots the boy with the black hair easily, immediately, Chirin forms a plan. She swerved left, then straight. Picking up more speed in her legs, she ran more until she found a corner and waited for a signature of warmth to come. It came faster as she expected it to, the white haired girl quickly grabs the back of his shirt, forcibly dragging him back to hide behind the trash cans. She covers his mouth before he can make a sound, the footsteps appeared. The girls seemed confused as to which way he ran, a random girl stuck her finger past their direction. “Hey!”
She shouted, “I bet he used a clone and went this way!” the girls made the weird noise again, running to the direction, past them into the open.
After making sure there wasn't another, she uncovers his mouth, standing up. Chirin stares blankly at him.
“Why did you save me? Are you a fangirl?” he took a moment, looking at her, “I don't think I've seen you around here.”
She did not answer his questions.
He stood up, staring at her face but no expression was showed.
Suddenly she opens her mouth, “Fight me.”
Sasuke looked taken aback at her comment then he smirked, “I don't fight useless girls.”
She didn't say anything in defense, she repeated the word, “Fight me.”
Sasuke scoffed, annoyed at her lack of words and expression.
“Fine, if I fight you, will you answer my questions?”
For a second, confusion laced her eyes before faded away quickly.
“That is not part of my job.”
Next it was Sasuke's turn to be confused, “Job? What job?”
She said nothing else, it made Sasuke irritated. He walked with her following by his side, to his training grounds. It was a good thing that it was close by.
He took a stance, so did she.
Her stance was more dangerous, unknown to him.
Sasuke started since she wouldn't, he threw shuriken at her legs, Chirin dodged it by backflipping. It was her turn, she took out some newly shuriken, given to her by Danzo.
The girl took out four and shot them in different directions at different times, Sasuke dodged one by backing up. He took out a kunai to dodge another on, but the shuriken knocked it out of his hand while the other two were incoming fast. Sasuke grunted as his back was against a tree. One pinned his right shirt while the other pinned the opposite side of his shirt.
He had no time to see the girl take out a kunai and ran to position it upon his throat, the Uchiha heir was clearly shocked.
“H-how?”
He managed his calmness, not even bothering to try to get out.
“I calculated what you'll do. That's all.”
She replied in a soft voice unlike the hushed voice back in the alley. Chirin picks the shurikens out of his shirt, finally released from his temporary prison. He picks up his fallen kunai while she picks up her shuriken from the ground, Sasuke throws his kunai at her, she shot her shuriken at it, messing with the trajectory. They both fell to the ground.
“I'd forgotten to mention, but you would have also attacked me when I have my guard down.”
He pick up all of his weapons and put them away.
“You beat me so fast, I didn't even have time for handsigns.” he stopped himself for a moment before continuing, “Since you won this round, do you want me to do anything for you?”
She stood up, putting her weapons away, “What do you mean? Is there more than fighting?” she asked blandly.
He swears this girl was raised underground so he held back his tongue, “Sometimes during a friendly battle; when a person wins, they get to do whatever they want with the other person. If the other person wins, same rules apply.” he said with a hint of annoyance to his tone.
Remembering something Naruto had studied with her.
“Aru, what does it mean if someone likes something?”
“That's easy! I like ramen and the color orange!”
He turned to her, “what do you like, Rin-chan?”
She doesn't reply, staring at her hands. “I don't know. I like you, doesn't that count?”
“It counts, dattebayo! But there's got to be more stuff you like, maybe food?” she gives him a glance, another feeling surfaces, but it didn't feel pleasant. Naruto panicked, she looked at him out of curiosity. “I'm sorry! We'll find you something that you'll like, don't cry!”
Crying? She touched her face, sure enough there are tears streaming down her face
She didn't like the tears, but she was happy to hear his words.
Why did she remember that? What was the purpose of that memory?
“I cannot. I must head back home.” just as she turned around to walk, he stops her, “Wait!” Chirin turns around, “What's your name?” Sasuke asked, “Chirin,” she replied curtly. “I'm Sasuke. Uchiha Sasuke.”
He gave her a curt nod before leaving, she turned back, walking the way she came.
Just before long, the night has came the moment she returned home, the door clicked open, she closed it from behind after coming in.
“I am home, Danzo-sama.” Chirin calls out to her foster grandfather.
He walked out of his room, setting down on the kitchen chair, she began to speak, “His fighting range is not enough. He seems to lack something, and he is not quick enough to calculate a plan.”
Danzo smiled, “Good job. You won.”
“The boy needs extra work.” Danzo seemed to be deep in thought, “Chirin,” she faced him, “Yes, Danzo-sama?” she replied.
“After you've done your duties and the training, you will join the academy and befriend him. You will not grow attach to anyone else, is that clear?”
With no say in the matter, she bows, “Yes, Danzo-sama. As you wish.”
“Now go, your punishment still stands. Back to your studies.”
Danzo walks out of the house.
Once again, she bows and leaves the kitchen, into her room. She sits down, immediately getting back to work. She solved the math with grace and no hesitation.
Suddenly, a searing pain hits her head, she drops her brush, holding her head. The pale eyed girl breathes heavily, a voice screams inside her head filled with anguish.
You can't let him win, Sachiro!
After the pain had subsided, the only thought on the girl's mind was that voice.
It was her own.
Forgive me for not updating, as you can see. I'm obviously Shikamaru.
But I also have a life and stories.
Oh, boy, the Kik chat is Litty AF!
In a way, I made a part of Chirin after myself.
You see, it's just the face that's all.
Blank, my face is mostly blank all day, I don't show expression at all, my hands are the ones with most expression and emotion.
Luffy is right, thinking hurts your brain.
Well, goodnight! I only updated because one person I care about requested it.
