3rd Person Pov
  
   The six-year-old woke up in a unfamiliar room, but comfortable.
  She got dressed, and went to the kitchen, found the Hokage in the kitchen with another man.
   The Hokage saw her and gave a small smile as stood in the doorway.

   "Well, don't stand there. Come and eat."
   The white-eyed girl gave a small 'okay' and took a seat and, began to eat out of the plate.

   "Tis grastes cice!"

   She said with her mouth full, her facial expression did not match her enthusiasm. The man with a cigarette in his mouth scolds her, "Don't talk with your mouth full, boy."

   Boy?  What's a boy? Oh, that. That's a boy, but I'm not a boy. Wait, what's a boy again? 

The Hokage broke her train of thought.
   "Hello? Chirin, what's on your mind?"

   "What's a boy?"

   Her question shocked both men, who were getting nervous every second as she stares at them, waiting for the answer.
   The guy with the cigarette in his mouth stuttered,  "Ah,  you're not a boy? A boy is- a boy has- Um no. A boy... A boy is- I can't explain it!"

   He left the poor Hokage to explain what a boy was and the explanation was not so pretty. She even demanded proof for a boy, he could only show a picture of it on health books, that's when she got interested in the book that was meant for medical nins.

    She had finished the book by afternoon, and the Hokage left to do work.
   Chirin was on strict orders not to go outside until she has a legal guardian.
   If no one decides to adopt her, she's going to be off to the foster homes.
  There was nothing to do, except to read books.  She found a small library in his mansion and sat in a corner to read them.
  
   A clatter stopped her from reading the rest of the book on fuinjutsu. She looked up and saw a boy with yellow hair, it seems he senses her too.

   He froze in place as they locked eyes.
  "Please, let me stay here. The old man lets me stay in at his home when I don't feel safe!"
   He pleaded with her, but she did not respond for a few minutes. Sweat trickles down on the boy's cheeks until she commented.
   "I like your scent. It smells nice."

The boy was wide with surprise as he relaxed his body and took a huge breath.
  "My name's Uzumaki Naruto!"

    She could only stare at his outstretched hand.
   "What's that?" her voice pointed to his hand.

   Naruto frowned,  "You don't know what a handshake is?"

   She shook her head. Naruto took her hand and put his hand in hers and shook it.
  
   "That's how you great people! AHAHA!"
   He grins, laughing.

She copies his grin, it freaked Naruto out. 
   "My name... Is Chirin."

"Maaan, that sounds like a mouthful. I'll call you Rin-chan!"

  "Rin... -chan?" Her head tilted ever so slightly, Naruto explained that it's a childhood nickname.
   She held his hand again and dragged him to where she previously sat.

   "WAAAAAAA!?"
   Naruto saw 20 books on her left side and 10 more books on her right side.

   "Wanna read to me, Aru-kun?"
   
  He rubs the back of his neck sheepishly, "I can't read."
  "I'll teach you..." she trails off, leaving him sitting near the corner. She found a simple picture book with words and gave it to Naruto then began to teach him. He made a lot of mistakes but paid attention since she's taking her time to teach him. 

   "No, that's Ra- for Ramen and Random, not replaying."
  She corrected Naruto, sensing a presence but ignored it.

   The third chuckles as he watches Chirin teach Naruto how to read, still cautious of her.  He tore his eyes away from the crystal ball and the sound of the familiar footsteps caught his attention.
   "What is it that you want, Danzo?"

The old man chuckles at his former friend, "Nothing. I just thought I needed a change in my life."

  Sarutobi narrows his eyes at Danzo, "And what is that?"
 
   "A child."

   Hiruzen froze then frowned at Danzo.
   "You're not going to use the child are you?"

   Danzo's fake smile didn't leave his face. "I'm afraid not, I don't know when I'll die, so I want someone to continue the Shimura clan by wearing our last name. That child you're in possession of, I'll take her."

   "Are you sure?"

   The Hokage eyes narrow even more, but hope-filled eyes. He hopes Danzo to change even the slightest. Just by having a child in his life would do him good.

   "Do you doubt me, Hiruzen?"

   The Third waves his hand and gave Danzo the papers of adoption, giving him a warning.

   "Be careful, she might be a spy. Even children at 6 years old can cause harm to a village. Appearances are irrelevant, you know that right?"

   The other sighed, "Hiruzen, I'm old, not stupid. I can take care of a single child. If she does turn out to be a spy, I'll be sure to let you know~"

  The third gave a deep sigh, and just before Danzo left, he said, "I'll pick her up tomorrow. I'm quite busy today, I need to prepare for her room and other stuff.."

   More weight was added to The Hokage's shoulders, giving out another sigh.

   He turned on the crystal ball and what shocked that the library was a mess, the kids were nowhere to be seen, he searched for Naruto and Chirin. She was nowhere in the mansion.
   Three locations came to mind, The ramen shop, not there.
   The playground, not there.
And lastly, the Hokage heads.
There they are, he zoomed in and found Chirin and Naruto on the fourth Hokage's head.

   "Aru-kun, can we be family? Wait? What's a family?"

   She just asked Naruto a question then questions herself, Hiruzen laughs at the odd girl.
   Naruto explained what family was, "Um, a family is like a tree! I think?  Anyways, there are more trees and they are family. And um? Oh, yeah. The bushes are our pets and the flowers are our bugs, the little trees are babies and the short trees are girls, the big trees are boys. You, know what? The bigger the love is, the bigger the tree gets!  True strength comes from protecting the ones you cherish!"

   Naruto laughed nervously, hoping he explained it right. Chirin understands what he means, she learned about a family in a book but didn't get the meaning of it.
   "Then you're my big tree brother."

   "Alright! The stronger I get, the more strength I have to protect you!"
   Chirin let out a tiny smile.

   "Ah! You finally smiled, Rin-chan!"

  "What's a smile?"  her smile disappeared, Naruto groaned in frustration.

   "Not this again! It's like you're a baby who knows nothing!"

   Hiruzen smiled genuinely at the two together. Although, He will not let her off by disobeying his orders.
