•Chapter Eight•
He picked me, hoisting me up into his arms. He carried me back into the lounge, allowing me to resume my position on his chest. I placed my head against his chest, I could hear his heart beat as though it wanted to burst through his chest. He picked another TV channel, wrapping his arms around me; I felt secure in his arms. He kissed the top of my head, his eyes focussing on the screen again. I hoped that we wouldn't be interrupted again, as I was enjoying listening to the beating of his heart. It was a lot slower than mine, but I assumed that was just because he was older than me. I had no idea how old he was, but I knew that he was younger than my mother. Many of her friends had something to say about that; most of them were jealous.
I felt my eyes begin to shut, Laurie stroking my head and listening to his heartbeat was beginning to lull me to sleep. He stopped. "You better not be falling asleep William. You won't sleep later, and you have studying to do tomorrow." He said, looking down at me. I whined, picking up his hand, placing it back onto my head. I didn't care about education anymore. The only thing that was on my mind was Laurie, and the way that he ruffled my hair. He let out a deep sigh, moving his fingers in the way that I liked. I smiled, closing my eyes, curling my fingers around his other hand.
---
Once again, I found myself in Laurie's arms. He had carried me up the stairs, along the corridor towards his and my mother's room. I was much too tired to make any comment about him taking me there, and in all honesty, I didn't have much to argue about. He used his back to open the door, before gently lying me down on the bed. He let out a sigh, standing at the end of the bed, slowly unbuttoning his shirt. I watched him through squinted eyes, curling up into a ball. He was staring at the wall ahead of him, there was only a picture of some part of the English countryside. Maybe it was where he had grown up, I didn't know, and nor did I care, as he was taking off his shirt. He tossed it onto the ground, stretching his arms, before he began to mess with his belt buckle. I heard the clink of the metal as he tossed it onto the ground, stepping it out of his pants. He turned on his heel, before heading over to me. He helped me up, and I held my arms in the air for him to take my t-shirt off. He smiled, kissing my forehead, as I sleepily pulled my pants down. He cupped my cheeks, staring into my eyes, I smiled like an idiot. He kissed my lips, before letting go of me, crawling into bed next to me. "Come here." He whispered, beckoning me over to him. I obliged, lying next to him, his pale arm draping itself over me. He pressed himself up against me, holding me tight, resting his chin on my shoulder. The smell of his cologne, the warmth of his skin, and his breath against my neck lulled me to sleep.
I woke up wrapped in his arms, his face pressed into the nape of my neck. I smiled, reaching up to touch his hair. It felt soft against my skin. He grumbled, pulling me closer to him, moving his head down to my shoulder. "Good morning." He said, his voice saturated with sleep. I turned around to face him, his eyes were slits in his pale skin, brown irises of his eyes struggling to poke out from behind his eyelids. He held me against his torso for a moment, before I squirmed out of his grip.
"Are you going to force me to do math today?" I asked sarcastically, earning an eye roll from Laurie. I chuckled, he sighed, brushing my hair out of myself. We stared into each other's eyes. His were adjusting to the light, he cocked his head to the side, pouting at me.
"History, I think. I'm about as bored of maths as you are. I have to watch you chew my stationary." He said with a sly smile, his eyes crinkling, hand reaching out to stroke my cheek. He gently pinched my skin, before leaning down to kiss me. He held my cheek in position, his tongue burrowing into my mouth, I let out a soft whine as hand made its way down to my hip. Squeezing it, I moaned, he smiled. He enjoyed teasing me, making me squeal under his every touch. "I don't want to have to wait all day to kiss you again." He added, winking at me, before turning over. He sat on the edge of the bed, he shook his head, stretching his arms above it. I crawled over to him, wrapping my arms around his neck.
"Can we not stay in bed a little longer?" I asked with a pout, he shook his head standing up. He stretched his arms again, letting out a cutesy noise. He turned on his heel, beckoning me over to him. I obliged, scrambling off the edge of the bed, obediently standing in front of him. He lifted my chin up with his index finger, looking into my eyes. He smiled, stroking my cheek.
"Be a good boy, won't you? Go and get dressed, go make your breakfast. When you're finished, you can wait in my study if I'm not there already, okay?" He asked in a low tone, I bit my bottom lip, nodding slowly. He smiled, planting a kiss on my forehead.
I left my clothes from the night before on the ground, making a mental note to move them at some point. I made my way along the hallway, Laurie turned on the shower attached to his room. I would've given anything for him to allow me into the bathroom with him, but I knew that I hadn't earned that privilege yet. In a sense, I hadn't proven myself worthy of it. Sharing a bed with him last night was a gift enough. Sighing, I walked to my bedroom, leaving the door ajar. I didn't know what to wear, and I knew that I wasn't going running.
Throwing my closet doors open, I pushed various items of clothing to the side. I couldn't decide on anything that I wanted to wear. I pulled on a pair of old black jeans, throwing on a plain white shirt, rubbing my eyes. I wished that Laurie would've allowed me more time to sleep, as I was still a little tired. But, whatever Laurie said went, so I made my way downstairs to the kitchen.
I put a load of fruit into a bowl, pouring myself a glass of water, sitting at the breakfast bar. I picked a grape up, squashing it between my fingers, before placing it into my mouth. I wasn't particularly hungry, I never was, but Laurie had told me to eat so I had to. I felt like it was my job to do whatever it was that Laurie told me to do, well, within reason anyway. I wasn't about to kill a man, even if he squeezed my hip again as he asked me.
I grimaced as I swallowed, drinking the water. It tasted like chemicals; I wiped my mouth with the back of my hand. I could hear Laurie moving around upstairs, I would've given anything to be up there with him. I smiled at the thought of him, sending strawberry juice dribbling down my chin. I licked my lips, placing the stalk onto the counter. I heard the creak of the stairs as Laurie made his way downstairs. He poked his head around the door, smiling, his hair damp. "Are you eating your breakfast like a good little boy?" He cooed, heading over to me. I nodded as he hugged me from behind, his left hand digging into the bowl, stealing a grape. "I don't think I've ever seen you eat so much." He joked, I hit his hand.
He smirked, standing in front of me, cocking his head to the side. "I'm only doing what you told me to." I said, chewing a grape with my mouth open, the juice splattering everywhere. He shook his head, taking my glass of water, downing half the liquid. I scowled, before he topped it up, sliding it across the table to me. I scowled, shoving another grape into my mouth.
"You shouldn't scowl, William. It doesn't suit you." He said, placing his hands on his hip. He was wearing his usual white shirt, black trousers combo, but he had left a few buttons open at the neck. He skin was still tanned from lounging around in the sun that morning. That feeling that lingered in the pit of my stomach was back again, teasing me the way that Laurie did.
"What if don't?" I asked, folding my arms, across my small torso. He laughed, raising his eyebrows, dropping his hands to his sides.
"Wouldn't you love to know. Finish your breakfast, then come straight to my office." He said, stroking my cheek, making me smile. I flashed my teeth at him, he pulled a face at me. The man was the most beautiful person that I had ever seen, even when he was pulling unsavoury faces at me. I rested my chin in the palm of my hand as I lazily ate the rest of my breakfast. My hand slowly slid across the counter, fingers gripping the glass. I pressed my lips against the glass, closing my eyes as my mouth was filled with the chemical-tasting water.
I hoped with all ofmy being, that Laurie would hold me again, kiss me again.
