I was setting up the streamers in the family room for New Year's, humming to one of Michael's songs. "Hey beautiful" Michael said as he walked into the family room, smiling. "Hey handsome. I'm pretty much done decorating" I said as I smiled up at him. A few hours before midnight I was cuddled up on the couch with Michael, watching the countdown for the New Year on TV. "What's your New Year wish beautiful?" Michael asked me and I looked up at him. "My New Year wish is to be married to you handsome" I said as I blushed. Michael chuckled and got down on one knee and my eyes went wide. "Megan, will you marry me?" Michael asked, opening the ring box and I gasped as I saw the engagement ring.

"Yes, I will marry you handsome" I said as the clock struck midnight and it was 2024 as Michael slid the ring on my finger and we kissed. New Year's wishes do come true after all.
