Chapter 1

"Wake up (Y/N)!" My mom yelled.

I sighed, and got up. I don't exactly know what I was feeling, I never do. It's normally a grey feeling, kinda boring I guess. I changed into my school uniform, and put my hair up, sloppily. It was always that simple look for me. Nothing too flashy, never want to draw attention to myself. It causes those panic attacks. I walked downstairs, and ate the cereal my mom poured for me. I finished then grabbed my bag, put on my shoes, and headed to school, my first day of my freshman year.

Interesting.

I sighed and crossed the street to school grounds. Everyone was hanging out with someone or doing something. Guess I should make new friends? I walked over to the fountain, and sat on the edge. I stared at the water for about five seconds before I heard a voice.

"Hello? Are you new here?" I turned to look into these beautiful, shining, baby blue eyes it was a boy with light brown hair.

"Uh, yes," I replied dully.

"My name is, Laurance," he smiled.

"(Y/N). It's nice to meet you... I guess," I shrugged.

"Uh, so you're a freshman?"

"Yes. Is that a problem?" I asked.

"No. Not at all," he smiled.

"Good," I nodded.

"Sorry, but why haven't you smiled since you got here? This is high school, you're supposed to have fun!" He said doing a silly dance. I giggled then felt a sudden wave of panic go through me. I fell off the edge of the fountain, and tried to take in breaths, but nothing would come in. I felt dizzy, and everything seemed to be fading in and out of existence. "Are you okay?!" Laurance yelled.

I threw my bag off my back, and shoved my hand into my bag, blindly looking for my inhaler. I wrapped my hand around it, and yanked it out of the bag, I quickly shook it, and used it. I pulled it out of my mouth, and took in deep breaths, and leaned against the fountain. Laurance knelt down next to me. "What was that?"

"P-Panic attack," I took in a few more breaths.

"Why?" I looked at him.

"I'm... strange. I have a panic attack every time I feel... emotions I guess."

"How is that possible?" I shrugged lazily.

"I try not to think about it, it makes me feel sad then I get a panic attack," I explained.

"Weird-"

"I know."

"Oh, hey. They've opened the doors. Let's head inside." He helped me to my feet, and I scooped up my things, and followed Laurance inside. He lead me to another boy with darker blue eyes, and blondish hair. "Hey, Garroth."

"Oh, hey, Laurance," Garroth waved us over. He was talking to a girl with pinkish looking hair. "Who's this?" Garroth asked Laurance, while dismissing the girl for a few moments.

"I met her outside. This is, (Y/N)," Laurance introduced me. I waved kinda shy like, and made an effort to give a small smile.

"Hello," Garroth smiled, "it's nice to meet you."

"Same." I nodded.

"What's her problem?" Garroth whispered to Laurance.

"Uh, well she can't feel normal emotions without... having a... well a panic attack." Laurance whispered back. I rolled my eyes.

"You realize I can hear you... right?" I asked. They looked at me with wide eyes. I rolled my eyes, and took a deep breath.

"Right," Garroth nodded, looking up. "Oh! Uh, Ivy!" The girl with the pink hair came back over.

"Yes, Garroth?" She asked with a little bit of eagerness in her voice, and a little twinkle in her eyes.

"This is my friend, (Y/N)," Garroth introduced me. I nodded to her, and she rolled her eyes.

"So, Garroth," Ivy started. I zoned out a bit, and started at the ground... which was a... greyish color... bland. I felt someone slam their shoulder against me very roughly. I felt the impact of the floor as my shoulder dug into the ground. I winced a bit, but not much. I stood up brushing myself off a bit.

"Are you okay?" Garroth asked. I nodded.

"What happened?" Laurance asked.

"That delinquent over there shoved her," a boy said walking up behind me. I watched as Garroth was dragged away by Ivy.

"Gene!" Laurance growled. I turned around to face this "Gene". He had black hair, and blue eyes.

"So you must be, (Y/N). The one who had a panic attack this morning."

"I had the panic attack like ten minutes ago," I furrowed my eyebrows together.

"News travels fast here," Gene shrugged.

"What do you want, Gene?" Laurance hissed. They must have some bad blood.

"Just want to get to know the new girl."

"I've been in this district for my whole life. Not exactly new here," I rolled my eyes.

"Right. Whatever," Gene rolled the comment off his back. "So maybe you'd like to come hang out with me, and my group sometime? The Shadow Knights?"

"Well your popularity level must be pretty low, because I've heard nothing about these Shadow Knights until now," I glared. "And just by the way you talk, your group seems to have a bad reputation on the people who know of you, sorry, but maybe not. Maybe someone who's actually dumb enough to want to hang out with you, and those two nerds you call friends." Gene was fuming by the time I was finished.

"Why you-"

"Delinquent? Guess, I'm no better then that boy shoving everyone in the halls. Well I guess that means him, and I are at least more... how should I put this... respected than you." I smiled sweetly. He turned around with his pale face red, and stormed off to his little group of nerds.

"Oh my Irene," Laurance gasped.

"What? Is there something on my back?" I asked.

"You just made Gene mad!" He laughed. I looked around confused.

"Okay?" I shrugged.

"That's good! That's good!" He laughed harder. I shook my head.

"Maybe, we should head to class?"

"Oh! Right," he stopped laughed. I pulled my schedule out of my bag.

"I'm heading to home."

"Same. I'll see you around, Freshman," he nodded to me, and headed off to class. I walked off to my homeroom. Room number 306. I walked in right as the bell rang. I quickly took a seat in the back next a boy with black hair, covering one of his blue eyes. This was probably going to be a long day.

"Hey!" I turned to face the boy who was sitting to my right.

"Can I help you?" I asked.

"You were zoning out." His voice was very... high.

"What's wrong with your voice?" I asked, I really wasn't thinking about what I said, and hit myself in the face from my stupidity.

"What's wrong with you?" He snapped.

"Sorry. I don't know what... I'm not good with people," I sigh.

"Clearly," he rolled his eyes. I traced the random engravings on the desk.

"I'm sorry."

"It's... fine," he sighed. I smiled a little.

"So, what's your name?" I asked looking at him.

"Zane Ro'Meave." He mumbled.

"Any relation to, Garroth Ro'Meave?" I asked.

"I wish I wasn't," he grumbled. "I hate being his shadow."

"If it makes you feel better, I wouldn't have even known that you guys were brothers. You seem like a very intelligent, powerful young man," I replied. I saw blush creep on his cheeks.

"Thanks."

"Just saying what I think." I traced the carvings again.

"H-Hey. I looked over to my left this time." There was a girl with hazel eyes and raven black hair, and a boy with white hair, and bright green eyes.

"Hi." I nodded.

"What's your name?" The girl asked.

"(Y/N)."

"I'm Aphmau, and this is my not alone buddy Travis!" She smiled brightly. I gave her a small smile.

"Is something wrong?" Travis asked.

"Kinda. I have some... issues," I shrugged, "I don't like to get into it too much."

"That's okay!" Aphmau smiled.

That class was over quick! Turns out all we do in that class is socialize... okay weird. My next few classes went by quickly, and I'm heading to my last hour now which it... Werewolf 101? ... What?
