Percy POV

We sat around the unconscious Sarah in the infirmary. Annabeth was looking at the ground confused because she didn't have a plan and Chiron was holding Sarah's unusual sword.

"I do not know how she retrieved this."

"What is it?"

"It is the Harpe. It is was used by Kronos used to kill his father, and what Perseus, the ancient Perseus used to decapitate Medusa."

"So why do would it appear to her?" Annabeth nervously questioned

"I'm still trying to figure that out."

"Have you ever seen a demigod been able to summon ice? I mean Jason can control things in mid-air, but ice? I've never seen that before."

"Maybe the child of Khione? No, no she wouldn't dare after Eumolpus, her offspring with your father Percy. She was so scared of what her father, Boreas would think that she threw Eumolpus into the ocean." He said shaking his head. "Anyway, she turns all mortals into ice anyway," Chiron explained

"So what do we do," I ask

"We wait."

Sarah POV

I woke up in the infirmary again, only to see George tending a lava burnt victim next to me. He turned around

"You just can't stay away from me." George chuckled

"Yup, you caught me. I'm purposely injuring myself in order to spend more time with you."

"Hey, I'm not complaining." He said

"Or is that you spend too much time in here?"

He laughed "Here eat some ambrosia."

"Thanks."

"So what happened out there? Everyone is talking about it and no one knows how you did it."

"I don't know, I was scared, it just kinda happened."

"And usually after an 'episode' like that, the child gets claimed. Like I hear stories about Percy, when he was first healed by water, he was claimed. Or Annabeth. When she devised her first 'Capture the Flag' plan and won, she was claimed."

"I definitely had an episode." I laughed for a short time, then it fell back to awkward silence.

"So how are you feeling?" he asked

"Better." I smiled and he turned back to his bench.

"Hey, um I was wondering."

"What are you wondering George?"

"You know so you can like stop hurting yourself to spend time with me. I was wondering. If um. Like. Um. Oh. Maybe you want to like walk by the lake with me tonight? I mean you don't have to. That's ok, no hard feelings. I don't mind. I'll be fi-"

"George"

"Yes?" He said a little higher than usual.

"I'll go."

"Really oh gee thank you." He smiled and left the infirmary. He popped his head back around. "Oh you can leave whenever you want, I've examined you and everything seems ok."

I shook my head and got up out of bed and walked outside. Everyone kind of stopped and stared and whispering something about ice to the person next to them. This continued everywhere I went. I went back the Hermes cabin so I could change my clothes, I had Ancient Greek with Annabeth this morning. I soon as I stepped into the cabin everyone stopped, looked at me and looked down. Travis blurted out,

"Looks like you're not staying here for very long."

"I really want to, you guys are great friends!" I said trying to cheer up the room.

"But you're just too 'powerful' for us," Alice said sarcastically. I gave up on them, changed my clothes and went to meet Annabeth.

Annabeth POV

"So where are we going?" she asked

"Grab you book we are going to sit out on the lake, it is a nice day today," I told Sarah. She was probably thinking that that was a really nice gesture, but Athena always has a plan.

We hopped on a boat and rowed out to the middle of the lake. She opened her book and asked

"So what are going to do toda-"

"Who are you?" I questioned

"I don't kno-"

"How did you do that in the forest."

"It just happened."

"Who is your godly parent?"

"I don't know."

"Is there another camp in Australia or something? Sending you here?"

"What no! Unless you count the weird people that hang out behind Woolies." She laughed to herself "Wait. There are other camps?"

"How did you find us?"

"I don't know-"

"Do you want to kill us?"

"No! Never! You guys are my first real family." She said desperately

"Are you a spy?"

"What no!" She said almost in tears. I felt really bad for being mean, but I had to stick to the plan.

"Why are you lying to me."

"I'm not." she said crying

"I'm going to ask you one last time. Who. Are. You." I said with my finger at her chest.

"I DON'T KNOW!" she screamed as loud as she could. I heard cracking sounds and the entire lake had frozen over, horrified at what she did. She stepped out of the boat and began to run. When she reached land, each step that she took a bone appeared under her foot and when she reached the forest, she melted into the shadows.

I run on the ice, knowing now my boat won't go anywhere, I look at the people on shore staring in shock, I run over to the arena.

"Percy, Jason come with me now."

"But we're teaching a class."

"Come. Now" I gave them my best death stare.

"Sorry kids, class over go play volleyball."

"Awwwwwwww." They all say in unison.

Percy and Jason walked over to me. "How did your plan go? I hope you weren't too mean." Jason asked

"I'm sure if it worked but look what she did." She said pointing at the bones and the frozen lake.

"Holy schist," Percy says covering his mouth. "Where did she go?"

"Into the forest somewhere."

"Where's Nico?" Jason said bending down looking at the bones. "He's good with this. Stuff." He provided one of the bones.

"Probably with Will in the infirmary. Better run and grab him." I say. Jason nods his head and runs away.

"Percy." I walk up to him closer. "What is she? I feel so sorry, I could see the fear eyes, just like you on the first da-"

He kissed my forehead, "It's ok wise girl. We'll get to the bottom of this." He smiled and hugged me. I saw over Percy's shoulder Chiron trotting out in horse mode.

"What is this!" He exclaimed "Travis! Connor!"

"No, no no!" I said, "It wasn't some prank." I leant in closer and whispered, "It was Sarah."

I told him about my plan to see if she would confess anything, and how it backfired. How she yelled and the lake froze over. I could hear panting behind me.

"Hi, guys, what's the problem... oh my gods," Nico said running over to us.

"Jason, Percy," Chiron said. "Go into the forest and find her."

"We're on it." And they ran into the forest.

I bent down next to Nico, "Do you know how this could have happened?"

He examined the bones cautiously. "I don't know, it's only something a child of Hades could do."

"Could you put them back inside the ground. Because I'm 100% sure that Percy will trip over one."

"Sure, even though Will said strictly no Underworld voodoo. I can make an exception." He raised his hands above the bones and they began to sink into the ground.

About and hour later Percy and Jason walked out of the forest with Sarah, eye cheeks were puffy from crying.

"I'm going to take her to the stables," Percy told me

"It always helped me calm down."

"Ok, "I kissed him on the cheek, "I'll see you soon." And like that, with Percy's arm on Sarah's shoulder, they disappeared into the distance.
