A Goddess is Reborn
Author's Note: So, I'm going to work on this and write it all out before I post more than the first chapter, but I wanted to put this forward. At least so you have something to check out. Looking forward to hearing what you think.
Pandora enters her room, walks over to her closet, and puts The Box inside. She walks over to her bed, taking her shirt and pants off as she does. She face plants on her bed.

Earlier that evening...
"I don't want to make it better. I want to save the world." Sarah says, matching any advance Pandora makes although it clearly takes a lot out of her.
"I know you do. And I get it, but this isn't the way to do it." Pandora fires back.
"What do you know?" Sarah says with an upset tone.
Pandora looks at The Box as it glows, the power of the glow slowly getting weaker, "Trust me, I know... I know what it's like to have to sacrifice things you want for the greater good... and I'm sorry."
To finally close the gap, Pandora rushes Sarah with The Box in front of her, tackling Sarah to the ground. Pandora falls on top of her, The Box between them, and as soon as it's pressing against both of them, a red energy bubble starts to build out from the mystical object. Eventually, it envelops both of them, before spreading out around the field, hitting everyone in sight.
On the ground, Sarah's eyes glow more red then they've ever been as the spirit is drawn out of her. As it starts to go into The Box, a black light mixes with it and the bright red glow becomes darker. Pandora's eyes glow the darker red color, mixed with the black for a moment then it is drawn out of her.
All around them, the crowd calms down to the point that they are no longer at each other's throats. The players on the field do as well and go back to playing the game. After a few long moments, Pandora lifts herself off Sarah, sitting on the field grass next to her and pulls The Box to the side.
"How are you feeling?" the teenager with a destiny asks.
Sarah takes a deep breath, slowly pulling herself up to a sitting position before realizing she's got her full strength back. She raises her hand and tries to make the electricity come out, but nothing happens.
"It's... it's gone." Sarah says, getting more and more upset as she continues to fail to make the electricity happen.
"Trust me, it's better that way. You're going to be fine." Pandora responds as she gets up from the field, picking up The Box in the process and walking away.

Several weeks later...
Pandora enters her room, puts The Box away in her closet, and barely gets her pants off before face planting on her bed.

Earlier that evening...
"Don't you see? The problem with the world is that everyone keeps remembering things wrong. They can't see the world for what it really is. If we fix that, then maybe we can make the world a better place?"
Pandora struggles to keep focus, her memory fading in and out, "You can't... you can't solve your problems by forgetting about them. You have to live with them."
"But what about Jemma? You don't have to live with the pain of how you feel about her. You can just forget how you feel every time you see her and know you can't be with her. You can forget that you ever felt anything for her at all. I can make her forget too. You can start all over again."
Pandora considers what's being offered for a moment, clearly tempted.
"I... I don't want to forget. I can't forget. Even if you could do it, you don't just make people forget the bad things. You make them forget the good things too."
Pandora makes her way slowly towards her friend possessed by the spirit, Lethe.
"If the price of losing the bad things is that I don't remember the good things? Then I'll suffer."
She gets right up close to the possessed guy, putting The Box against her. A dark blue light flashes in their eyes before The Box pulls the light out of them. The black light from The Box mixes with the dark blue and makes it even darker. As the light disappears into The Box, Pandora's eyes glow black and the formerly possessed collapses in front of Pandora. After a few moments, they look up at her.
"What happened?" they ask.
"Trust me..." explains Pandora as she turns to leave, "It's better if you forget."

Pandora walks through the door to her room, throws The Box into the closet but not closing the door and face plants herself onto her bed fully clothed. Silence fills the room before The Box begins to glow with a black light.

Laughter fill the room as the people around Pandora can't seem to stop pointing and laughing at each other while making simple slap stick jokes with each other or imitating each other. Pandora isn't laughing. She's just holding The Box up without much regard for anyone seeing it as if it were any other piece of tech.
"Okay, look... I don't really have time for any of this. I'm tired, and I'm angry, and I just want to get this over with." declares Pandora rather dismissively while everyone around her keeps laughing and making jokes, "So let's see if this will work. Which one of you started this?"
Several members of the class start to point in the same direction. Others join in, none of them able to stop laughing. Pandora gets up and walks over to the one they're all pointing at.
"You started this?" asks Pandora.
"Me... me... I..." the laughing guy tries to get out.
"Good enough..." Pandora responds, thrusting The Box into his chest.
His eyes glow green and so does The Box but that's quickly over taken by the same black light. The spirit of mockery, blame and criticism, Momus, is drawn out of the laughing classmate and Pandora's eyes flash with a black light. The formerly possessed student slowly calms down, trying to figure out what's going on as Pandora walks away, The Box in hand.
"What happened?" they ask.
"Whatever." Pandora responds, leaving the classroom.

Pandora walks through her bedroom door without closing it, drops The Box on the floor, attempts to face plant onto the bed but hits the edge. She falls off the edge onto the floor.
"Ow!"
The tired girl with a destiny forces herself up, just barely climbing onto the bed and passing out.

Pandora is sleeping on the edge of a hospital bed. Her mother Uni is lying motionless in it as the heart rate monitor beeps. Jove grabs her shoulder, squeezing it gently. That wakes the young girl. He smiles at his daughter as she rises.
"Dad?" a groggy Pandora asks, "what's going on?"
"You fell asleep," explains Jove, "you really need to head home."
"I'm okay," insists his daughter, "I want to be here when she wakes up."
Jove takes a deep breath, "We talked about this Dora. Your mother might not ever wake up."
"She has to. I'm the reason she's like this. I have to find a way to make it right." Pandora says.
"It was her choice. She did what she had to for her daughter. You can't blame yourself for that."
Pandora sits back in the hospital chair, "If I had been more careful, she wouldn't have had to. If I hadn't let my feelings for Jemma get in the way, she'd still be..."
Her father interrupts, "You can't think like that. It's not what your mother would've wanted. You should never think of having feelings for someone as a bad thing. What you feel for Jemma is a powerful thing, even now. You're connected."
Pandora gets up from her chair, clearly exhausted, "Doesn't matter. In the end, I lost her anyway. Even after I told her the truth, she still left me."
She walks to her mother's hospital room door, stopping before she does, "I think you're right... I need to go home... get some sleep."
"Okay, I'll see you at..." Jove begins.
Pandora walks out before he can finish.

Pandora shoves her things in her locker at school, closing it behind her. She turns and there's no one to meet her. The young girl with a destiny lets that sink in for a bit, looking around and seeing Jemma at her locker a little further down the hall. Jemma immediately looks away, trying to hide that she's been looking Pandora's way. Pandora leaves in the opposite direction.
She makes her way to the cafeteria, picking up a tray and getting in line. Several of the people in front of her see that she's in line behind them and they look at her suspiciously before getting away from her.
"Look at you, Ms Popular." the lunch lady says with a joking tone.
"Whatever," Pandora dismisses, "Who wants to be popular?"
The lunch lady answers the rhetorical question, "Pretty much everyone? Why don't you?"
"I tried it, didn't agree with me. You probably don't want to be seen talking to me." suggests Pandora.
"After the way you helped me and the other staff with that crazy person who was trying to eat everything in sight, including us? I'll take my chances." the lunch lady responds.
She puts an apple on Pandora's tray to finish serving her lunch. Pandora smiles at them before walking away. The lunch lady smiles with Pandora's back turned before her eyes flash with a black light. The lunch lady walks away from her duties as her body begins to change.
Pandora makes her way to an empty table and sits down. When a few of her classmates see that she's chosen it, they swerve to avoid sitting with her, leaving her alone. The shunned woman picks up the apple on her tray, shines it, closes her eyes and bites into it. After chewing and swallowing it, she opens her eyes and a dark black light flashes in them.
Pandora's smile turns to a grin.
