EXT. Y/N'S APARTMENT- LATE NIGHT

LEE KNOW: The murderer will come to the award ceremony....

Y/N: That means...

Lee Know looks at the invitation stumped by their luck. He looks up and sees Y/n feeling the same. They both step into a hug instinctively.

Y/N: ...We can catch the murderer...

LEE KNOW: And all of this will be over...

Y/N (thinks to herself ): You'll know what happened to your dad.

LEE KNOW (thinks to himself ): You won't be in danger any more.

Tears of relief roll down both their faces. Y/n realizes her arms are wrapped around Lee Know. She senses Lee Know getting conscious about the hug too. They both take a step back and avoid looking at each other.

Y/N & LEE KNOW: Sorry.

They smile awkwardly. He looks at the invitation in his hand.

LEE KNOW: I'll give this to Hyung...

Y/N: He woke up?

LEE KNOW: Yeah.

Y/N: Congrats.

LEE KNOW: Thanks.

There is awkward silence.

Y/N: Ok. Um...I'll be going now.

LEE KNOW: Yeah.

She bows and walks away leaving the atmosphere very awkward.

CUT TO:

INT. SEOUL NATIONAL HOSPITAL, JAE ON'S ROOM- DAY

Jae On puts the invitation kept in a zip lock bag on his lap.

JAE ON: Perfect.

LEE KNOW: What's the plan now?

JAE ON: We need Y/n.

They look at Y/n and I.N sitting on the couch and enjoying eating tangerines.

I.N: I've never liked tangerines so much.

Y/N: You ate 15 last month.

I.N: I don't remember.

They continue munching on the tangerines. Y/n stops seeing Jae On and Lee Know staring at them.

Y/N: What?

JAE ON: Do you think she can remember?

LEE KNOW: Maybe.

Y/N: What!

JAE ON: You need to go to the award ceremony.

I.N: Because?

LEE KNOW: Her memory can be jogged if she sees the guests. Maybe she'll recognize the murderer.

JAE ON: Like the invitation. Seeing it helped her remember.

Y/n nods her head.

I.N: You want her to meet the murderer in person?!

JAE ON: It's our only choice for now.

I.N: Don't you think that's too risky? What if things go haywire?! And he tries to k-

Y/N: Can you breathe?

She looks at Jae On.

Y/N: I don't know if it will work.

JAE ON: Neither do we. But we should try at least. We will make sure you don't get hurt.

I.N: How will we get her in?

Y/n avoids looking at Lee Know.

Y/N: I can be Lee Know's date. Your aunt already thinks I'm his girlfriend so, I guess I can continue pretending.

I.N & Jae On look at Lee Know for an explanation.

LEE KNOW: Long story.

He rubs his forehead.

JAE ON: Okayy...

I.N: Girlfriend?

Y/N: Don't ask me. I don't know either.

They get back to eating. Jae On makes a call. Lee Know looks at I.N and Y/N enjoying the tangerines.

CUT TO:

INT. Y/N'S ROOM - NIGHT

Y/n and I.N are watching a video. Her phone rings.

Y/N: Hello.

LEE KNOW: Hi, about the event.

Y/N: Yeah?

LEE KNOW: Nabi said she will help. She knows a lot of designers-

Y/N: No! I have a really nice dress already. I can get myself ready.

LEE KNOW: But-

Y/N: I got this. Bye.

She gets back to the video.

I.N: What dress?

Y/N: The dress I've to wear to the event.

I.N: I don't remember you owning a dress. Ever.

Y/N: Neither do I.

I.N: So, what was that about?

Y/N: It would be weird for me to try those outfits and stuff in front of Nabi. I really don't like those.

She shivers at the thought of it.

I.N: Let's do it together. I need to get an outfit too.

Y/N: Why do you need a dress? Are you trying to do something rebellious?

I.N: You know what I meant.

Y/n smiles.

CUT TO:

INT. STORE- AFTERNOON

Y/n dials I.N's number.

Y/N: Ya, where are you?

I.N: I'm on the way, I'll be there in 30, max 45 minutes.

Y/N: I'm not staying in this place for that long. You know what? I'll get this done. You take your time.

She hangs up without hearing his response.

Y/N: Excuse me, I'm looking for a dress for a very, very big event.

STORE ASSISTANT: Yes. this way.

Y/n follows her to the rows and rows of evening gowns.

Moments later:

Y/n walks out of the changing room, her arms up not wanting to touch the dress.

STORE ASSISTANT: Is it very tight?

Y/N: No, but I think I might chop it off anyways.

STORE ASSISTANT: It looks good on you!

Y/N: It's like 20 kilos!

She walks back in and changes. She walks out wearing a frock like dress.

STORE ASSISTANT: You look good.

Y/N: I look like a 5-year-old.

Y/n changes again. She tries on different outfits, every time rejecting them. One eternity later (at least for Y/n), she walks out wearing the most comfortable outfit so far. Y.N looks at herself in the full-length mirror satisfied.

Y/N: I'll take this.

I.N runs in. She smiles showing off her outfit. He smiles giving her 2 thumbs up.

Y/N: Your turn.

She smiles and walks back into the changing room.

CUT TO:

INT. RESTAURANT- AFTERNOON

I.N and Y/n walk into the restaurant holding their shopping bags. I.N talks to the hostess as Y/n looks around, she freezes seeing Lee Know seated at one of the tables.

Y/N: What the-?

She looks at her bag.

I.N: Let's go.

Y/N: Let's eat somewhere else.

I.N: Why? You liked this place last time-

Y/N: Let's go-

She tugs on his arm, desperate to leave.

I.N: What's wrong?-

Y/N: Let's just g-

JAE ON: Hey guys.

I.N: Omo! You got discharged?

JAE ON: Yeah.... Looks like you went shopping.

He points to the bags.

I.N: Yeah. Just some stuff.

JAE ON: Are you okay?

He looks at Y/n.

Y/N: Yeah. Why won't I be?

She laughs. For no reason.

JAE ON: Um...I'm here with Lee Know. You guys wanna join us for lunch?

I.N: Sure.

JAE ON: Come on, he's seated over there.

I.N smiles and they follow Jae On. Y/n clearly forcing herself. They reach the table, Lee Know is surprised to see I.N and Y/n.

JAE ON: I invited them to join us.

Lee Know smiles nodding his head. Y/n and I.N sit in front of Lee Know and Jae On. The awkwardness between Y/N and Lee Know doesn't go unnoticed by the other two. I.N starts reading the menu.

I.N: What do you want?

Y/N: Whatever you're having.

I.N: Fine.

He calls for a waiter and orders. I.N and Jae On manage to start a conversation while Lee Know and Y/n sit in awkward silence.

LEE KNOW: So.... How's your wound? Does it hurt a lot?

Y/N: No. It's fine. I'm just upset I had to fall in that dirty alley.

LEE KNOW: Ahh.... .... wait alley?-

The waiter arrives with the food.

Y/N: Thank You.

They all start eating, except Lee Know.

LEE KNOW: What alley?

Y/N: Where I got stabbed, duh.

JAE ON: Why aren't you eating?

Lee Know turns to him.

LEE KNOW: Hyung, where did Y/n get stabbed?

JAE ON:

Y/N: What lift?

JAE ON: Where you got stabbed....

Y/N: You mean alley?

LEE KNOW: You don't remember being stabbed in the lift?

Y/N: No, because I was stabbed in the ally.

I.N: What is happening?

JAE ON: There was no way she was stabbed twice.

He rubs his forehead. I.N's spoon drops.

I.N: What if the one in the lift is fake? The stabber pretended to stab her.

JAE ON: We will need experts to check that. Because it clearly showed she was stabbed in the lift. The timeline could not have been messed with. Things happened too smoothly.

Y/n looks at her plate.

I.N: Why does this keep happening?! I swear I'm going to kill that idiot.

He clenches his fist.

Y/N: Enough about that...Let's just eat.

She picks up her chopsticks.

I.N: WHA-

LEE KNOW: HOW DO WE JUST EAT?!

I.N is shocked.

JAE ON: Lee Know-

LEE KNOW: First kidnapping. Then drugging, now this!

Y/N: Is this even surprising? Whatever happened, happened! It will all end in that award thingy anyways! So just eat.

She starts eating first. Jae On and I.N look at both of them surprised.

CUT TO:

INT. Y/N'S ROOM- AFTERNOON

Y/n puts her shopping bag in the tiny closet. She flops on the bed.

Y/N: Ahhh! I'm so tired!

She touches her stab wound.

Y/N: How does it even make sense?

Her phone rings. She takes it out her pocket and smiles reading the caller Id.

Y/N: Omma!

OMMA: Happy birthday!

Y/N: Eyy... it's next week.

OMMA: I don't care. I already sent your present.

Y/N: What is it? What did you get me?!

OMMA: Check your balance if you want to know.

Y/N: Omma. You did not have to.

She gets serious.

OMMA: You deserve it. Go treat yourself to something nice.

Y/N: Thank you.

OMMA: I'll call you later. Love you.

Y/N: Love you too.

Omma hangs up.

Y/N: Why did she? Aish.

She wipes her tears and dials another number.

Y/N: I.N. I'm rich!

INT. SECRET ROOM- NIGHT

Red watches the news on one of his many TV screens.

REPORTER: Lee Group has been nominated for the Company of The Year, at the prestigious Annual Asian Business Awards. Due to the unfortunate demise of Mr. Lee Sun Ho, his youngest son, Mr. Lee Know will be representing the Lee Group at the awards.

RED: Finally, news is worth watching.

He picks up his phone and dials a number.

RED: It's me. Is she ready?

He smirks.

CUT TO:

EXT. STREET- NIGHT

Y/n and I.N walk through the street market with ice cream in their hands.

I.N: You were scared in the restaurant, weren't you?

Y/N: Well. It is scary. So yes, I was.

I.N: I'm glad this can end soon.

Y/N: Me too.

They walk in silence for the next few minutes.

I.N: Right! I wanted to ask. Since when do you like Lee Know?

Y/N: WHAT?!

I.N: You can tell me.

Y/N: I don't like that stalker.

I.N: Yes. Yes.

Y/N: Ya. I don't.

I.N: I said ok.

Y/N: I really don't!

I.N sarcastically nods his head.

Y/N: Do you want to die?

She wraps her arm around his neck and drags him along.

I.N: Ok! Ok!

Y/N: I'm not letting go!

I.N: This only proves my point-

She tightens her grip.

Y/N: I will really kill you!

She bumps into a passer-by, making her let go of I.N.

Y/N: Sor-

She looks at the girl she bumped into and stops herself. I.N's smile fades seeing the girl too.

Girl: Hey I.N.

I.N: Hi Young Chae.

YOUNG CHAE: It's been a while.

I.N: Yeah...

YOUNG CHAE: Well, meet my boyfriend, Tae Kwon.

I.N bows, Y/n does not bother and glares at her.

YOUNG CHAE: It looks like you've stayed the same.

Y.N: Is that a compliment?

YOUNG CHAE: Obviously. I've always liked you.

Y/N: I can't say the same.

YOUNG CHAE: Huh?

Y/N: Nothing.

TAE KWON: It's nice to meet your friends.

Young Chae smiles at them.

Y/N: You still think you can smile? You jerk.

Young Chae's and Tae Kwon's smiles slowly fade.

I.N: Y/n-

Y/N: Ya, Tae Kwon, was it? Be careful of this girl, she may look like a nice girl but she's just a heart stomping, two timing jerk who has no conscience at all.

TAE KWON: Don't talk disrespectfully about my girlfriend.

Y/N: We'll see for how long you can call her that.

I.N: Stop Y/n-

Y/N: You see that mannequin? That'll be a better girlfriend to you.

TAE KWON: You are going too far-

Y/N: I have no idea how I haven't killed this jerk yet!

I.N: That's enough Y-

Y/N: Ya! Young Chae, how dare you smile and act like you did nothing?

TAE KWON: No wonder she dumped him. How much you must have tortured my girlfriend when she was dating him?

He pats his girlfriend on the head, Y/n is amazed.

Y/N: Match made in heaven, Mr and Mr's jerk face.

TAE KWON: WHAT?!

They both step in closer to throw some punches. I.N pulls Y/n back.

I.N: We don't need to kill anyone today-

Y/N: Trash belongs with trash.

TAE KWON: I agree, you are trash.

Y/n steps ahead again and I.N tries pulling her back. She pushes his grip away making him bump into one of the tables of a street vendor.

I.N: I'm sorry-

MAN: What do you think you're doing!

He tries moving away while bowing 100 times at the same time.

MAN 2: Ya!

The small group of hefty men stand up from their chairs.

I.N: Let's get out of here Y/n-

Y/n is oblivious to I.N's situation and is busy arguing with Tae Kwon. He tries pulling her away, she pushes him even harder this time, resulting in him being pushed to the middle of the street. Y/n hears the loud screech of the breaks of a car and a thud, making her freeze. Young Chae gasps, Y/n turns and looks at I.N lying on the road.

Y/N: I.N....

She rushes to him and kneels down. She looks up and down scanning his body for injuries.

I.N: I'm fine...I'm fin-

He sits up. Y/n checks his back and her breath stops. She touches the back of his head.

Y/N: You're bleeding!

I.N: Calm down...

She starts having an asthma attack.

Y/N: I'm really sorry. This is because of me...I'm really sorry...I shouldn't have...

I.N: Y/n...Y/n! It's just...

Y/n's asthma attack worsens. She loses consciousness.

CUT TO:

INT. LEE FAMILY HOME – NIGHT

Jae On is busy with preparing for the event as Lee Know lies on the couch emotionless.

JAE ON: Um...Lee Know we need to get Y/n's passport ready.

Lee Know has no idea his brother even spoke to him; he continues staring at the celling.

JAE ON: Lee Know?

Lee Know presses a pillow against his face and groans.

JAE ON: What's up with him? ... Ya, we need to get her passport for her to come with us-

Lee Know suddenly sits up throwing the pillow away.

LEE KNOW: HOW IS SHE NOT WORRIED SHE GOT STABBED TWICE!?

Jae On is startled, making him almost drop the papers in his hands.

LEE KNOW: WHAT IS WRONG WITH HER?! FIRST, SHE WANTS TO HELP THEN SHE WON'T EVEN TAKE CARE OF HERSELF!

He looks at Jae On.

LEE KNOW: Am I exaggerating?

Jae On slowly shakes his head.

LEE KNOW: RIGHT?! WHAT IF SHE DIED?! WHAT DOES SHE WANT ME TO DO THEN? AND SHE SAYS I'M THE CRAZY ONE!

JAE ON: Yeah..... Yeah.... But about her passport, could you ask her?-

LEE KNOW: WHY SHOULD I? SHE SHOULD CARE FOR HERSELF FIRST BEFORE I DO!

JAE ON: Ok I'll do it myself.

He takes out his phone and dials Y/n's number.

LEE KNOW: I'LL DO IT.

Jae On puts his phone down cautiously and raises his hands in surrender. Lee Know furiously dials her number.

LEE KNOW: Wah...now she won't even pick up her phon- Hello.

He tries acting cold.

LEE KNOW: Hello, I.N? ..... Y/n what!?

CUT TO:

INT. SEOUL NATIONAL HOSPITAL, EMERGENCY ROOM - NIGHT

Y/n gains consciousness. Her gaze falls on I.N looking down at her, making her sit up straight.

Y/N: Are you okay?! How's your head? I'm so sorry!

I.N: Y/n next time don't panic so much. I was the one who came in front of a car but you were the one who had to be admitted to the hospital.

Y/N: Are you sure you're okay?

I.N: Duh. I'm I.N.

Y/n turns him around, to reassure herself that he's not hurt. She gets worried seeing a bandage on the back of his head.

I.N: The doctor said I'm totally fine. Relax.

Y/n gives a weak smile. Lee Know and Jae On rush in.

LEE KNOW: Are you okay? Did you get hurt?

He checks Y/n. She is confused with Lee Know's behaviour.

LEE KNOW: Are you okay?!

He looks at Y/n.

Y/N: Yeah but-

LEE KNOW: Thank God.

JAE ON: What happened?

I.N: Fight. It's not a big deal.

JAE ON: Are you okay?

I.N: Yeah.

Y/N: Excuse me...

LEE KNOW: What, do you need something?

Y/N: Who are you?
