FADE IN:

EXT. AMUSEMENT PARK - NIGHT

Y/n avoids Lee Know as they all walk out of the Dark House.

LEE KNOW: Sorry... I'm really sorry... I was just glad that you remembered.

Y/n stops – what's he talking about?

She looks at I.N and Jae On.

JAE ON: You lost your memory again.

Y/N: No, I didn't, I remember everything.

LEE KNOW: When was the last time we met?

Y/N: Yesterday, we all had lunch together.

I.N: That was 2 days ago.

Y/N: Oh.

She smiles and looks at her shoes.

Steady - she tells herself.

I.N puts his hand on her shoulder; feeling her body starting to tremble, he steps closer to her side. That's all the support Y/n needs to get back to her cheery self.

I.N: Anybody want ice cream? My treat.

CUT TO:

EXT. ICE CREAM TRUCK – NIGHT

Y/n stands at the counter reading the menu on the wall of the truck, while everyone chooses their ice cream.

Y/N: Ya, what do you think Mango Mint Choco Chip ice cream tastes like?

LEE KNOW: I'm not sure.

Y/n straightens - I thought you were I.N.

Lee Know smiles at her and looks at the board.

How long have we been standing like this? - Y/n stares at him for a second.

Why do you look different?... Why do I feel different? - She looks away from him and toward the tables.

Y/N: I'll be at the table.

Lee Know smiles as he nods making Y/n's heart skip a beat. She hurries to an empty table and plops into the chair, patting her cheeks.

CUT TO:

EXT. PARKING LOT – NIGHT

I.N and Y/n are walking behind Jae On and Lee Know.

Y/N: Are you sure about this?

I.N: I'll handle it. I'll feel better if you stay with me.

Y/N: Your mom hates it-

I.N: I'll handle it.

He smiles at her.

Ahead, Lee Know slows down and waits for I.N and Y/n to catch up, as Jae On continues to walk toward his car. The three walk together in silence.

I.N picks up his pace and walks ahead, giving Lee Know and Y/n some space.

Y/n and Lee Know continue to walk in silence.

Why do I feel different with you - Y/n thinks without looking at him.

LEE KNOW: Y/n, we are fine right?

Y/n digs her hands deeper into her pockets.

I'm not mad at you, you took me by surprise, that's all.

She nods looking at him. Lee Know sighs relieved, Y/n smiles.

LEE KNOW: I was so worried, I'm glad everything is fine now.

Y/n can't help it. She blushes, hoping it isn't noticeable.

LEE KNOW: We have to be careful till Saturday and all of this will be over after we nab the murderer.

He smiles looking at her.

Y/N: Yes.

Lee Know walks with a spring in his step. Y/n's smile drops.

Of course, it's about the event - She hits her head – What was I thinking?

She looks ahead and finds I.N holding the car door open for her. She smiles and gets in the car. I.N slides in next to her. Y/n watches Lee Know get in the front seat.

But I still feel different - She smiles.

CUT TO:

INT. GUEST ROOM - I.N.'S HOME

I.N knocks on the door before entering. He's wearing his school uniform.

I.N: Are you ready to-

He stops seeing Y/n asleep comfortably tucked under the sheets.

I.N: Aigoo.

Y/n wakes up, probably for the first time in a really long time, peacefully. She turns and sees I.N.

Y/N: Sup!

I.N: Are you that tired?

Y/N: I don't know.

She notices his school uniform and sits up.

Y/N: NO!

I.N: Chill.

Y/N: No, I didn't know when to wake up, this heavenly room has no stupid alarms.

I.N: I threw it out last night. You're not going to school; you'll be resting today.

Y/N: But-

I.N: No buts, you're resting today.

Y/n tries raising a halfhearted objection, but stops, glad that she gets to skip school.

I.N: You hungry?

Y/n holds her stomach and shakes her head.

I.N: Go back to sleep then. I'll wake you up after I'm back from school.

Y/N: Thanks.

She beams sliding back down under the sheets.

I.N: You have been through enough.

He says getting serious as he pulls up the sheets for her.

I.N: Kidnapping, stabbing...

Y/n sighs.

I.N: Loosing memory, falling in love...

Y/N: What?

I.N: What?

He smiles, tucking her in tightly.

I.N: I didn't say anything and you're not blushing.

Y/n pulls the sheets over her head.

I.N: Don't go anywhere when I'm in school.

Y/N: Yes, yes.

She answers from under the sheets. I.N walks out the room, smiling, and closes the door behind him. It doesn't take long for her to doze off again.

A knock on the door wakes Y/n from her sleep.

Y/N: What the-? He's already back from school? I went to sleep-

The door opens and Mrs. Yang enters, snapping Y/n out of her slumber. She stands and bows.

Y/N: Good morning-

MRS. YANG: Sit

Y/n obeys.

Mrs. Yang pulls up a chair to the bed and sits, crossing her arms.

MRS. YANG: When're you going to stop following I.N?

Y/n looks down at her fingers, locked together, on her knees.

MRS. YANG: For how long have you been doing this now? .... 5 years, right?

Y/n still doesn't reply.

MRS. YANG: You're some piece of work... Did you forget how much you owe I.N?

She scoffs.

MRS. YANG: I.N almost got beaten to death, trying to save you from your bullies... and instead of being grateful you think you can mooch off of him?

Y/n's chest tightens as the image of I.N's bruised face, with blood shot eyes and bloody nose flashes in her mind.

MRS. YANG: He's always in danger when he's with you, and he doesn't even know it. I don't know how you've fooled him, but you better stop. Mooch off of Lee Know instead.

CUT TO:

EXT. PRISON - AFTERNOON

Jae On walks toward the prison, with a few files he needs to hand over, he bows to a few officers escorting a free prisoner out. He stops abruptly, recognizing the former prisoner.

JAE ON: Tae Joon?

He rushes to him.

JAE ON: Ya! Ya!

Tae Joon turns around.

TAE JOON: What? Are you going to arrest me again?

JAE ON: Why're you out?

He looks at the officers for an answer knowing he won't trust Tae Joon's.

OFFICER: The victim withdrew her charges against him, his record is clean, there's no other reason for him to be here.

JAE ON: Y/n did what?

TAE JOON: Why're you so worked up about it?

JAE ON: Mind your own business.

Tae Joon glares at him.

TAE JOON: I don't like you either officer.

The officers lead Tae Joon out.

JAE ON: Why did she withdraw the charges?

He dials Y/n's number.

The number you have dialed is currently unavailable pl-

He hangs up and stops, before dialing her number again.

Let's not rock the boat, her stress levels are high as it is. I'll deal with him after the event - Jae On thinks.

INT. LEE COMPANY OFFICE - AFTERNOON

Lee Know keeps checking his phone. – Why won't she answer? I.N said she's skipping school today.

He looks at his watch – 11 am. Maybe she's still sleeping.

His phone rings – Finally.

LEE KNOW: Hey Y/n.

Y/N: Lee Know, I remember everything... you don't have to worry, okay? I'll recognise the murderer and it will all be over on Saturday. So please, stop calling me. I want to sleep. Thanks, bye.

She disconnects the call.

Lee Know stares at his phone. - I guess calling 10 times was too much.

CUT TO:

INT. I.N'S HOME – AFTERNOON

I.N rushes through the living room toward the guest room. His mom stops him holding his hand.

MRS. YANG: You're home. How was school?

She takes his backpack.

I.N: Great. Did Y/n eat?

MRS. YANG: She left.

I.N.: What? Why? ... Did you tell her to leave?

She sits on the couch.

MRS. YANG: She wanted to leave.

I.N finds that hard to believe.

MRS. YANG: Go freshen up, you need to eat.

I.N.: I'll just check on Y-

MRS. YANG: She looked like she needed space, so give it.

I.N does not raise another objection.

I.N: I'll go freshen up.

She smiles at him and watches him walk to his room.

CUT TO:

INT. I.N'S ROOM - AFTERNOON

I.N locks the door and takes out his phone. He calls Y/n, extremely concerned about her.

I.N: Pick up. Pick up-

Y/N: Hi!

I.N: Ya! Where are you? I told you not to go anywhere!

Y/N: I'll be back later.

I.N: Where are you?

Y/N: Um...

I.N: Y/n?

He senses her getting serious in the silence.

Y/N: I need some space... and some time.

I.N: Can you at least tell me where you are?

Y/N: I'm on my way to my apartment.

I.N: Don't stress too much about anything, okay? You know you can call me anytime, right?

Y/N: I do.

I.N: Good.

CUT TO:

INT. LEE FAMILY HOME - NIGHT

2 days later:

Lee Know and Jae on prep to discuss the plan with Y/n and I.N.

I.N: Hey.

He says walking in.

LEE KNOW: Where's Y/n?

His disappointment is palpable.

I.N: Um... she needed some rest...

LEE KNOW: Is she sick?

I.N: No, she's just tired. I'll tell her the plan.

JAE ON: Fine by me. Please sit.

He looks at Lee Know, not getting any objections, he turns back to I.N.

JAE ON: Tomorrow we travel to Shanghai in the company plane. Did you get the passports?

I.N hands him, both, his and Y/n's passports. Jae On checks it and puts it on the coffee table.

JAE ON: In Shanghai, we will check into the Grand Plaza Hotel and get ready for the event. Both Lee Know and Y/n will be wearing trackers, spy cameras and wireless earpieces.

I.N nods.

Lee Know picks up the passports and looks at Y/n's photograph, it's been 2 days since he spoke to her. He looks at I.N, desperately wanting to ask about her, but swallows it and decides to focus on the current conversation.

JAE ON: At the event, once Y/n recognizes the murderer...

LEE KNOW: Hyung, will have people on the ground, following him and tracking him. Making sure he doesn't get away.

I.N: Can you do that? I mean, we'll be in a foreign country.

JAE ON: I have some connections in Shanghai, I can manage.

LEE KNOW: We just need Y/n to identify the murderer.

I.N: Okay. I'll tell Y/n.

He stands to leave.

I.N: See you at the airport.

Lee Know walks with him.

LEE KNOW: Are you sure she's, okay?

I.N: Yeah. All of this is a bit too much for anyone.

She's fine - Lee Know tells himself.

I.N: She just needs some space, we should understand.

Lee Know nods - She's fine.

CUT TO:

INT. Y/N'S ROOM – NIGHT

Y/n sits crossing her arms, looking at the family photographs spread out on her bed, each photo bringing back longing memories. She pulls her arms tighter to her chest, her hands squeezing her shoulders, as a gazillion tears start flowing down her cheeks.

She's not fine.
