EXT. Y/N'S APARTMENT- NIGHT

Y/n hops out the apartment building, her mouth waters just imagining the dishes that Tae Joon could be cooking. Her phone rings. She takes it out, its Yoo Shim.

Y/N: Hello?

YOO SHIN: Hello. Y/n it's me Yoo shin.

Y/N: What happened?

YOO SHIM: GIVE ME MY PHONE-!

Y/n hears Yoo Shim grabbing the phone from her sister.

YOO SHIM: Y/n.

Y/N: Yeah?

YOO SHIM: The landlord is coming tomorrow. Me and Hee Chul are staying at our parent's house tonight so-

Y/N: Got it. I'll tell her a pigeon broke the window. You're paying for the repairs.

YOO SHIM: Thanks.

Y/N: About the housekeeper-

YOO SHIM: Ah! Him! He cleaned the house in the morning just like you wanted.

Y/N: What?

YOO SHIM: You were the one who insisted that I book him for the morning!

Y/N: He came? And left?...He's not coming back, like now or something?

YOO SHIM: What're you talking about? You have to book him again. Why? Is the house dirty already?

Y/N: No... I'll call you later. Don't you dare come back home tonight!

YOO SHIM: What's wrong with you? Did you break something?!

Y/N: Yes! So just don't!

She hangs up.

Y/N: That means... that man... ahhh!!!

She stomps the ground.

INT. LEE KNOW'S OFFICE- NIGHT

Lee Know signs the last report from the piles he had to check. His phone rings.

LEE KNOW: I.N-

I.N: Y/n 's in danger.

LEE KNOW: What?

I.N: There is a man in her house, he's lying about being the housekeeper.

LEE KNOW: Did you call the police?

I.N: Y/n did, they're on the way. I'm too far from her house right now, so I need you to go help her now.

LEE KNOW: I'm on my way.

Lee Know hangs up and rushes out.

CUT TO:

INT. Y/N'S APARTMENT- NIGHT

Y/n forces herself into her own apartment.

Y/N: What am I even doing?

She slowly and quietly walks to the kitchen, opens the drawers and takes out a key.

Y/N: Ok. Just lock him in the room...I can do that...I can do it!

She walks to her room. Tae Joon doesn't notice her.

Y/N: You're not a housekeeper, are you?

Tae Joon freezes, he turns and smiles sinisterly. Y/n smiles nervously, Tae Joon rushes to her. But Y/n slams the door shut and locks the door using the key with trembling hands.

Y/N: Close! Close! Close!

TAE JOON: WHERE IS THE HANDLE IN HERE?!

Y/N: Done!

She steps away and grabs a pan. She stares at the rattling door as Tae Joon tries breaking it down, surprisingly it doesn't.

Y/N: WHO ARE YOU?!

TAE JOON: RUN AWAY WHEN YOU HAVE THE CHANCE!

Y/N: WHY ARE YOU HERE?!

TAE JOON: TO KILL YOU!

Y/N: If you wanted to you wouldn't have waited for so long.

TAE JOON: How surprising!

Y/N: WHAT DO YOU WANT?!

TAE JOON: Why didn't you tell, that officer about the man you chased!?

Y/N: Huh?

TAE JOON: Right! It's your best friend's father.... you would not want your sweet best friend to get hurt-

Y/N: How does he know?... Why does everyone stalk me? ... YA! STOP CHANGING THE TOPIC!

TAE JOON: I wonder how your best friend will react....

Y/N: STOP!

EXT. Y/N'S APARTMENT- NIGHT

Lee Knows jogs to Y/n sitting on the steps, outside her apartment building.

LEE KNOW: Are you okay?

Y/N: Yeah...

The officers force Tae Joon into the car.

LEE KNOW: Did he hurt you?

Y/N: No... the officers came here faster than I expected.

LEE KNOW: Thank God.... Did you call Hyung?

Y/N: Yup, he's the first person I called.

LEE KNOW: Oh... ... where is he?

Y/N: I don't know.

LEE KNOW: You didn't see him?

Y/n shakes her head. Lee Know's phone rings, it's Jae On.

LEE KNOW: Hy-

NURSE: Hello. This is nurse Kim from Seoul National Hospital....

Lee Know freezes hearing the news. Y/n looks at him confused, Lee Know runs to his car and drives away.

Y/N: What happened to him?

CUT TO:

INT. ICU- NIGHT

Lee Know tears up seeing Jae On's unconscious body lying in the ICU. He sits on the chair outside; the doctor's voice rings in his head.

DOCTOR: We were worried the injuries from the accident were very severe but he did well in the surgery... We have to wait for him to pass the critical stage for us to be sure of anything.

Lee Know ruffles his hair.

LEE KNOW: What do I do? What do I do?

He breaks down.

CUT TO:

INT. I.N'S HOUSE- NIGHT

Y/n nervously stands in front of Mr. Kim, I.N's step dad and even more nervously in front of Ms. Yang who is not happy to see Y/n.

MR. KIM: Of course, you can spend the night here! I heard about the break in. Are you sure you're, okay?

Y/N: Ah yes!

MR. KIM: I.N will take you to the guest room.

Y/N: Thank you very much.

MR. KIM: I.N's told me a lot about you, I'm glad we could finally meet in person.

Y/N: The pleasure's mine.

MR. KIM: Tell us if you need anything.

Y/N: I will.

She bows respectfully to Mr. Kim and even more respectfully to Ms. Yang before following I.N to the guest room.

CUT TO:

INT. GUEST ROOM- NIGHT

Y/n and I.N walk in.

Y/N: Thanks for letting me spend the night. It must've been hard convincing your mom.

I.N: Eyy. I didn't tell her you were the one sleeping over.

Y/n laughs and sits on the bed.

I.N: I'm glad we caught that man.

Y/N: Right.

I.N: You still don't remember who you chased into the alley?

Y/N: NO! I DON'T!

I.N: What was that?

Y/N: Wh..what?

I.N: You always get so defensive when I bring that up...

Y/N: No, I don't...

She looks away nervously.

I.N: Are you hiding something from me?

Y/N: No.

I N: You are. Aren't you?

Y/N: I'M NOT!

I.N: Y/n.... You think I won't know when you're lying to me?

Y/N: I know you kn-

I.N: Then tell!

Y/N: I'm sorry...

I.N: Wait. You're accepting you're hiding something?

Y/N: I'm sorry.

I.N: What is it?

Y/N: I can't tell you.

I.N: What do you mean? What can't you tell me!?

Y/N: It's too dangerous. You'll get hurt.

I.N: I'll get hurt?! You not telling me is hurting me!

Y/N: I don't want to tell-!

I.N: Ya. You know I'll understand anything you tell me.

Y/N: I know!

I.N: THEN I DONT GET IT! WE'RE SUPPOSED TO TELL EACH OTHER EVERYTHING!

Y/N: WE'RE ALSO SUPPOSED TO PROTECT EACH OTHER!

I.N: Protect-?

Y/N: I'm not telling it.

I.N: You're making me really mad...

I.N: I'll only say hurtful things if I stay.... get some sleep...

He storms out the room. Y/n sighs.

CUT TO:

INT. SECRET ROOM- NIGHT

A man watches the cctv footage of the ICU ward of the Seoul National Hospital. A lady walks in.

MAN: You're here!

OMMA: I see you heard about Jae On. Was it really necessary?

MAN: Oh! He was getting on my nerves. He had to pay for that.

OMMA: Red, this is the 5th truck you made me dispose off. Don't you have people for that?

RED: Sorry. Want a drink?

OMMA: Yes please.

She sits at the table.

CUT TO:

INT. I.N'S HOME- DAY

Y/n walks out the guest room only to be stopped by a bun packet that pops in front of her.

Y/N: Huh!

She smiles and looks at I.N.

I.N: I'm sorry for last night.

Y/N: Me too.

I.N: I'm still mad tho.

Y/N: Continue being, I won't stop you.

I.N: But after this is over, I won't let you die until you tell me what it was.

He smiles at her.

I.N: Take it, my hand hurts!

Y/n grabs it.

I.N: I heard my mom talking about Lee Know. His brother got into an accident.

Y/N: What? Accident?

CUT TO:

EXT. SEOUL NATIONAL HOSPITAL- AFTERNOON

Y/n walks towards the hospital, 2 small kids stop Y/n.

KID 1: Ahjumma!

Y/n looks at him offended.

Y/N: What? Ahjumma? Ya! I'm only a few years older than you!

KID 2: Whatever! That's superman right!?

KID 1: It's not!

Kid 2 points at a man standing on the ledge of the rooftop.

Y/N: Huh?

KID 1: Superman won't stand like that for 10 minutes!

KID 2: Then its batman! He's waiting for the bat signal!

Y/N: He has a point.

KID 1: You tell us, who is it?!

Y/N: Well... That's not batman either, that's...that's... ... LEE KNOW!

She runs into the hospital.

CUT TO:

INT. ROOFTOP- AFTERNOON

Y/n stumbles onto the rooftop.

Y/N: WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!

Lee Know looks at her.

LEE KNOW: Nothing.

Y/N: Why aren't with your brother!?

LEE KNOW: I needed space.

Y/N: He will be fine.

Lee Know laughs sarcastically.

LEE KNOW: There is a big chance he might not wake up and if he does, he could be paralysed. He'll be fine? Sure!

Y/N: It wasn't an accident, was it?

Lee Know nods his head.

Y/N: Let me help you investigate.

LEE KNOW: No thank you.

Y/N: Why? Because I don't remember?

LEE KNOW: No, because it's not long till we both end up like that.

Y/N: Exactly why you should investigate with me.

LEE KNOW: I'll do it myself. You just leave and don't talk to any of us again.

Y/N: Huh?

LEE KNOW: Act like you don't remember us and get back to your life.

Y/N: Get back to my life like nothing happened? Seriously?

LEE KNOW: Yes.

Y/N: YA! This is not about your dad anymore. Everyone is involve-

LEE KNOW: THAT'S WHY LEAVE!

Y/N: WHY IS YOUR ONLY SOLUTION FOR ME TO LEAVE?!

LEE KNOW: YOU'RE BEING DRUGGED WITH GOD KNOWS WHAT! YOU ALMOST GOT ATTACKED IN YOUR OWN HOME! AND YOU'VE BEEN KIDNAPPED MORE THAN ONCE!

Y/N: I want to find the person who did this to me!

LEE KNOW: Let me do it! It started with my father anyways-

Y/N: Ya. Get a hold of yourself. Why do you think you can protect everyone by pushing them away? Why can't you take the responsibility-

LEE KNOW: I CAN'T! SO, LEAVE. GO!

Y/n sighs. She looks away annoyed.

Y/N: Fine. You do whatever you want, I'll do it myself.

She storms out.

LEE KNOW: Y/n-

CUT TO:

INT. PRISION – VISITING ROOM

Y/n nervously looks around as Tae Joon glares at her.

TAE JOON: You've been coming for a week now! Do you have to spoil all of my days?

Y/N: Oh! We're talking! Why did you turn yourself in? I found out you called the police before I did.

TAE JOON: Your grades are misleading.

Y/N: No. The shopkeeper told me.

She laughs, Tae Joon looks at her confused.

Y/N: Anyways... Your family hasn't visited you yet...do they even know you're here?

TAE JOON: I don't have a family.

Y/N: Liar. You have a mother.

Tae Joon gets even more infuriated.

TAE JOON: Don't bring her into this.

Y/N: You're like me.

TAE JOON: What are you trying to do? Manipulate me? Blackmail me?

Y/N: I'm also raised by a single mom.

TAE JOON: What're you trying to do?

Y/N: Can you let me speak?... Look I'm not that smart. I hate maths and I can't manipulate or blackmail anybody even if I want to. And I'm really bad at lying.

TAE JOON: So?

Y/N: What I'm good at is understanding, because I've been through the tough side of life sooner than most people. I'm very good at understanding feelings.

TAE JOON: Are you trying to sound like a saint?

Y/N: I work really hard to help my mom, if she ended up getting sick, I would've done what you did to me too.

TAE JOON: Who told you about my mom?

Y/N: The guard. I become friends with people really quick.

TAE JOON: Great.

Y/N: You had a lot of time to hurt me, but you didn't, it's not because you couldn't. You chose not to hurt me.

TAE JOON: Just because we may have the commonality of loving our mom a lot you think I'd tell you everything?

Y/N: No. But I think this will make you.

She presses a photo on the glass separating them. It's a photo of her omma and appa standing with a 16-year-old boy carrying 6-year-old Y/n.

Y/N: You're our neighbour from before, right?

TAE JOON: Wait...

Y/N: Wah. You grew up to look much worse.

TAE JOON: That's really you?

Y/N: Yup. I look awesome now, right?

He tears up.

Y/N: I didn't even recognize you. It's been so long.

TAE JOON: I'm so sorry. I didn't know. If I knew it was you, I wouldn't have done it.

Y/N: If you are, tell me who sent you.

CUT TO:

EXT. PRISON BUILDING- AFTERNOON

Y/n walks out the building with a smile on her face. It drops when she sees Lee Know standing next to his car.

LEE KNOW: I thought it was his family that took the visiting slots.

Y/N: You know now.

She walks past him.

LEE KNOW: Want me to drop you? Your house is quite far from here.

Y/N: No thank you. I'll take the bus.

LEE KNOW: Did you find anything?

Y/N: Even if I did, why would I tell you?

She bows and walks away. Lee Know continues to wait by his car.

10 minutes later:

Y/n walks back to him.

Y/N: There isn't a bus for the next hour.... Does the offer still stand?

Lee Know nods and she pretends to act unaffected and gets into the car.

CUT TO:

INT. SEOUL NATIONAL HOSPITAL ICU- AFTERNOON

Y/n stands next to Jae On's bed.

Y/N: Did he get any better?

She looks at Lee Know at the foot of the bed. He shakes his head.

Y/N: Mr. Lee, you better wake up. Your brother has gone crazy in a very short period of time.

Lee Know sighs.

Y/N: You need to help me knock some sense into this stalker.

LEE KNOW: I was crazy.

Y/N: Don't trust this stalker.

LEE KNOW: I think he understood.

Y/n glares at Lee Know.

Y/N: I'll make sure he does not become a mad man, so recover peacefully but quickly.

She bows and walks out, Lee Know follows. In the corridor Y/n walks past the lifts confusing Lee Know.

LEE KNOW: Where are you going? The lifts are th-

Y/n is way ahead of him.

LEE KNOW: Wait for me!

He reaches her. Y/n suddenly turns around making Lee Know flinch.

Y/N: Please sit near the ICU. And stay there.

She walks away somewhat scaring Lee Know.

CUT TO:

INT. OUTSIDE ICU- AFTERNOON

Lee Know sits on the chairs in front of the ICU and waits for Y/n.

LEE KNOW: Why did she make me sit here? ... Is she even coming back?...

Y/n walks into the room, Lee Know notices the over-filled bag she's holding. Y/n reaches him and puts it on him.

LEE KNOW: What's this?

He looks through the bag to see all the snacks from the vending machine.

Y/N: I know you haven't eaten.

Lee Know's look softens.

LEE KNOW: You didn't have to get me everything.

Y/N: I didn't know what you liked.

LEE KNOW: Thanks.

He smiles. She bows and turns to leave.

LEE KNOW: Help me.

Y/n stops.

LEE KNOW: Help me investigate.

Y/n turns around.

Y/N: The risks won't reduce.

LEE KNOW: I know. But whoever did this should be the one suffering not us.

Y/N: Ok then. We'll talk after you finish eating all of this...

She points to the bag.

Y/N: I need to go now.

She bows and leaves. Lee Know opens the cover again and smiles.

CUT TO:

INT. SECRET PLACE-?

Omma storms in.

OMMA: What's your plan? Y/n's investigating the case.

RED: Good afternoon.

OMMA: No one cares. What's your plan?

RED: Can you calm down? It's me. And let her be, don't you trust your daughter?

OMMA: If she finds out anything what are you going to do?

RED: What else?

OMMA: Kill her?

CUT TO:

INT. ICU- WAITING AREA – SAME DAY NIGHT

Lee Know stands up when the doctor walks out the ICU.

DOCTOR: I'm pleased to say he's passed the critical stage. He'll be fine. We only have to wait for him to wake up and then we'll work on rehabilitation therapy if he needs it.

Lee Know relaxes. He shakes the doctor's hand.

LEE KNOW: Thank you doctor! Thank you!

CUT TO:

INT. VIP FLOOR CORRIDOR- NIGHT

Lee Know happily presses the lift button. Ping! The doors slide open. Lee Know sees Y/n emotionlessly standing in the lift.

LEE KNOW: Y/n!-

She takes a step out holding her waist. Blood drips to the ground.

LEE KNOW: What? Y/n?

She falls, Lee Know catches her and stares at the stab wound on her waist staining her shirt red.

Y/N: He...Help....
