9. Chocolates & Bunny Grin

"What do I do with this?"

Jungkook was fumbling on a piece of cloth that Taehyung kindly provided, absolutely unsure how to operate this piece of clothing.

"That's an apron Jungkook."

"It sure looks like one but how do I use it?"

"Over your waist? Like this?" Taehyung pointed at himself and instructed Jungkook to follow. Too bad, the younger was equally dumbfounded in wearing an apron as he was before. No clue.

"Are you sure you're a top ranker?" Taehyung sasses playfully as Jungkook's doe eyes grew twice in size. "I'm just kidding Bambi."

That damn nickname.

It surely sent waves down the raven head's body making him slightly shiver in giddiness. As he was trying to digest the situation, Jungkook didn't realise the swift action by the older who was already fiddling with the given apron, opening it wide in front of the ravenette.

"C'me here."

"Huh?" The younger was dumbfounded. Jungkook watched Taehyung with arms extended to either side of his body with a knowing look on his face.

"Over here. This is how you wear it." Taehyung leaned in to wrap the black apron around Jungkook's petite waistline making the younger's breath hitch with the sudden proximity.

The ravenette himself is not much of a social person. His social circle and his boundaries are pretty limited to a handful of individuals he truly has spent years knowing. It took Jimin half a year to befriend Jungkook before they both could have a friendship skinship. Having someone new he knows for the past one week and feeling the spark between them isn't doing Jungkook any good in keeping his sanity in check.

The closeness of the brown head's face was prominent with the hot air brushing against Jungkook's right cheek making it hotter than intended. The younger stood like a robot, hands to the side in the air while Taehyung secures the apron around his waist with a knot behind the smaller of his back.

"That's how you do it."

Taehyung looked at the younger through the side of his eyes indicating he is done. With a final knot on the tie, Taehyung obliviously swiped both palms of his hands around the younger's waist until it was rested on Jungkook's tummy where he patted against the rock hard surface. "You're all done my sous chef." A boxy decorator his face while Jungkook nodded.

The raven head didn't feel like he was invaded nor does he feel like his personal space was abused. He was merely feeling the jitters on how casual and comfortable it feels to be around Taehyung. The dangerously warm feeling isn't something the younger used to and it most certainly throwing Jungkook into a labyrinth of his insecurities.

"What can I do?"

"Um let me think. Do you want to cut out the modelling chocolates with a shaper? Kids love them as a side treat."

Taehyung took a basket of animal shapers for Jungkook while the younger nodded, as excited as ever to assist.

After a good hour of working in silence and content, Jungkook decided to break the ice.
"Why do you decided to pursue patisserie if you're not into dessert?"

Jungkook was carefully placing an adorable looking bunny moulded chocolate on a tray finishing off his final piece. He was curious from the second he heard that the older doesn't enjoy dessert. To own a bakery and pursued pastry for his profession, it surely looked very ironic to Jungkook how the older didn't take a liking.

"Well. It's not that I hate them. I just don't eat them as deliciously as others would enjoy? I'm not much of a coffee person either but that shouldn't stop me from making others enjoy them."

Taehyung spoke after a while of pause. It's not something new when someone he just acquainted with would ask such questions if they come to know about his likes and dislikes. To be honest, it's not that often as the young patissier doesn't expose much of his details. Jungkook was a sweet exception.

"I guess it makes sense. So you do it for the sake of making others happy?"

Jungkook was saying it nonchalantly. However, Taehyung on the receiving end sends a weak smile. "Did I say something wrong?" The younger grew concerned.

"Nothing. That's precisely what I wanted to say. I don't hate my job. I love what I do. I have a lot of passion for baking and just seeing it brings a sweet smile to those who enjoy them. That's a satisfaction I wanted. You can say in a way I'm selfish like that."

"You're everything but someone selfish Tae." Jungkook isn't the one to certify or label someone accordingly. He has the purest heart with the intention that will never think about harming another soul. "Besides, it's still your passion. You don't necessarily need to be a sweet tooth to become a dessert chef or patissier. That's overrated."

"Glad you got it Bambi." The brown head chuckled lowly as he wrapped his silver bowl with cling wrap, allowing the dough to rise for the baking tomorrow. It's always a routine that Taehyung dies before closing the shop. On days where Jin decides to stay, the older will lend a hand with cleaning and preps. On days like today, the older friend has flown out of the door before the end time saying he is on a follow-up date with someone.

"Yea. I know how it feels. To make others happy selflessly." This time, Taehyung is not about to miss the cues on Jungkook. From his trembling smile to his monotone, the younger was hiding more than he is saying.

"And how did you end up with majoring in business? Keller is a fucking good school. It's either you pay with cash or you pay with grades." Taehyung commented.

"I was on the latter side I guess?"

"See! I knew you have the brains." Taehyung decided to keep it light and airy between them when he notices Jungkook was crawling back into his shell. For the older, the younger raven head surely looked like a puzzle with many missing pieces. As much as Taehyung want to paint the picture in front of him, he isn't sure if it will be a beautiful picture to envision. The more he speaks with the raven head, the more intrigued Taehyung gets in deciphering about the said male.

"Why do you keep calling me Bambi? That's not my name." Jungkook wanted to clear the air but he can't do it without a constant heat creeping into his cheeks.

"I'm right, aren't I?"

"Huh?"

"My bakery's air conditioning is heating up. I need to call the serviceman. You look like it's getting hot in here." Taehyung opened his apron and cleaned off the countertop while Jungkook fiddle on the chocolate moulds he was working on.

"Done?" The young patissier asked the ravenette who was standing with his apron on. "You may take it off as well. I'll get it cleaned. Do you know how to untie it?"

"Yes!" The reply came a little too quick as Taehyung nodded, unaware of the younger's distress state.

With a good few minutes of packing and cleaning, Taehyung was closing the door to his bakery shut, falling into his normal routine to end the business for the day.

"Do you do this alone every day?" Jungkook was aimlessly kicking the pebbles at the doorstep while he waited for the older to secure the locks.

"Sometimes Jin will be here. But most times, he leaves ahead of me."

"You didn't want to hire another person?"

"Didn't have the resources to. Besides, it's manageable just by myself and Jin. We are not a huge business."

"I bet you will be soon. I've seen the crowd for V's Bakery. It's insane. You're so talented Tae."

"Thanks." The older turned back with a smile hugging the curves of his lips, enjoying the genuine compliment from the younger friend of his. "And I call you Bambi coz you look like a deer with doe eyes. It's adorable. You're adorable. I guess I'll see you around?"

Taehyung pocketed his bakery keys as he watched the moonlight shadowing their figures, in particular giving the raven head's defined face a good glow. If Taehyung is a person with a faint heart, he'd probably passed out by the striking beauty.

"Yea. Thanks for the coffee. See you."

Jungkook was mentally holding himself in a piece and congratulated himself for not stuttering this time. The younger might be a fearless boxer but once he is out of the ring, he is a timid bunny. His duality till this date confuses his friends and even science can't possibly justify it.

It was a casual crossroad departure in which both males just start to bud into their friendship. What will this encounter hold for them both in their life journey? Only time will tell.

.

"Pack a bunch of this please." The male said as he extended a bunch of sunflower for the florist to wrap in the brown paper.

"Oh but sir, the gentlemen over there wanted to have a couple of these flowers as well. I'm sorry I didn't know you've taken it when I promised to pack for him." The young lady at the floral shop apologised when she noticed another customer had swiped all her sunflowers.

"Oh." The male held onto the bunch and thought for a second before handing the florist a couple of stalks. "Go ahead, I'll get the remaining 10 then. Would you be able to pack them for me please?"

"Yea! Thank you sir. It'll be right up."

As the said male was waiting for his 10 stalks of sunflowers, he noticed a brown head man approaching him with a couple of flowers in his hand. "I heard you gave these to me. Thanks for letting me take the flowers. I needed them for my bakery."

"Glad to do so. Hope you have a good business today."

"You too have a good day." Taehyung responded as he was ready to kickstart the day.

As the young patissier walks to his bakery with fresh flowers in hand, he smiled knowingly that the sun couldn't have shone brighter today than the bunny grin he witnesses last night, on his new friend.
