"Jungkook?"

Taehyung was at a loss when he received the call and did nothing but to immediately rush back home to his boyfriend. Regret washed over the brown head on the drive back home as he cursed at himself for leaving Jungkook alone, who was newly discharged from the hospital.

"Jungkook?" Taehyung yelled for the second time as he approached his bedroom when he did not hear a response from the time he entered the house.

"Tae?"

"Gosh Jungkook!" Taehyung crushed the younger in his arms without any precautions as he was too worried about the younger who called out for an urgent matter.

"Ouch!"

"Omg, sorry love! I'm so sorry! Are you alright?" Taehyung released the wounded body from his arms as he looked into the precious Bambi eyes which turned glossy.

"Pain."

Taehyung cupped his boyfriend's cheeks delicately and apologised for the hasty act as he did it out of pure concern. He wasn't aware how he must have irritated Jungkook's wound unconsciously.

"But Bambi, are you ok?" He has yet to get the answer to his question so Taehyung asked again making sure his eyes are scanning every inch of his boyfriend trying to find the discomfort or cause of pain.

"I'm alright."

Taehyung blinked his eyes rapidly. "But you called me for an urgent matter, are you not in pain love?"

"Not physically. But over here." Jungkook pointed at his heart with Taehyung's brows furrowing even further. What is Jungkook trying to say?

"I missed you."

The brown head's entire self melted into a tiny puddle. He can't believe the amount of love Jungkook is showering him with and all the adorable acts he is displaying at the moment.

"You scared the hell out of me Kook. I was speaking with the boys when you called. I ran out of Namjoon's house because I was so damn worried about you." Taehyung relaxed when he finally managed to gain his confidence that Jungkook is not in dire pain that requires medical attention immediately.

"I didn't mean to scare you but I just find it embarrassing to say it out loud when you're with the boys. I'm shy."

So that's the whole problem about it. Jungkook was feeling the empty nest syndrome as soon as Taehyung walked out of the door and waited for a couple of hours before ringing his boyfriend. Jungkook figures they would have somehow finished or about to wrap up their discussion when he decided to call Taehyung.

Sure enough, within the next 30 minutes, Taehyung is in his arms.

"You're so silly love. Next time, please don't scare me that way alright?" Taehyung gently bopped Jungkook's nose as he isn't about to attempt anything that requires him to touch Jungkook further.

Not now.

Anyways, with the light-hearted giggles waving through the room, both Taehyung and Jungkook found a sweet position to cuddle without the older crushing the raven head male into pieces. For the next few days, they have to be diligent and careful with Jungkook's recovery so that it doesn't leave any permanent damage which they might regret.

"Tae?" Jungkook called out after a few moments of silence once Taehyung finishes updating him about the happenings at Namjoon's.

"Yes, Bambi?"

"Are you going to speak with Lucas again?"

Taehyung stopped stroking the younger's hair as the name of the man he despises rang through his mind. He isn't so sure anymore about how he will be dealing with Lucas. Taehyung wanted Lucas to pay but he knows that the more he aggravates and present himself out there for his cousin to match, he will never be able to put a stop to it. On the other hand, Taehyung can never let go of Lucas for what he did to Jungkook.

The brown head's silence scared Jungkook.

"Will you hear me out?" Jungkook adjusted his head a little higher as he watched Taehyung's tensed up face up close. The younger continued when he saw Taehyung looking intensely at him without a word to spare.

"I think he doesn't need any more attention from you Tae."

The older furrowed his brows.

"I know you're very angry over what he did. I don't think so that was very nice of him to make me a pawn in getting back to you and subsequently manipulating me like a little fucker he is. But. He is not even worth an ounce of your energy and mental space Taehyungie."

Jungkook's right hand with bandages reached out to his boyfriend's soft cheeks as the raven head stroked very gently with the little energy his fingers could muster recalling the muscle strengths.

"I want it to be gone Tae. I wish you would just focus on yourself, on what you wish for and on your happiness. You have done so much for me. You brought me out from my shell and you're still here with me. I don't want to lose you. I am selfish and I am telling you that I want you to myself."

Not knowing when and what was the trigger, Jungkook is now tearing like a river. He can't help but release his pent up emotions thinking about how much this man means to him and his life.

Taehyung slowly but surely became a lifeline, healing that Jungkook never knows he needed.

"You love me that much?" The brown head's eyes glossed with tears. The moment is so precious and pure that Taehyung wishes he can tattoo it forever in his heart. The image of his sweet precious Jungkook.

"I love you Tae." Jungkook buried himself on Taehyung's chest, hugging him close despite the discomfort on his chest from the internal swelling he experienced. No pain can hold his emotions back as he craved for the skinship with his beloved.

"I love you too Jungkook. You're my family."

Taehyung hugged the younger close, confessing the love he knows he can cherish forever. Having Jungkook all to himself meant only one thing. It means that Taehyung is now not alone and he will have someone to return home to every single day for the rest of his life.

The future is unknown but if you ask Taehyung right now, he can tell you that he sees Jungkook being a prominent part of his life which he is about to undertake after losing his everything.

"I promise I will not go after Lucas. I have you now Bambi. If this is what you want then it means the world to me to cherish your wish. You have to continue your journey with VANTE, you will earn well from their program and the certification from VANTE will be valuable for your future."

That's right. VANTE holds a special power in the corporate world and the mere 6 months which Jungkook get to spend with them will determine his course of life which Jungkook was dreaming to have.

"I will. We are not kids Tae. I think it's only fair to think practical and be civilised." Jungkook agreed for he knows Namjoon is still in the corporate as one of the directors in charge and he will not allow Jungkook to be bullied. Lucas is still not under any panel to make an influence so he will be the least of their worries. For now.

"I agree. I will tell Joonie about this and he will look after you. VANTE is very reputable Kooks and vice versa, you're the top scholar from Keller's. They will need you for testimonials and mentorships for the juniors, they will not cause you any discomfort."

Jungkook nodded at Tae. For this, he is assured that VANTE will be a good avenue where he can be exposed to the real corporate world and not lose the opportunity to learn from the best.

"Joon told me I will be reporting to him. Is that right?"

"Well, you're not supposed to but I think he made it work somehow. After all, he can bend the rules like how he bends Jin in-..."

"Okay, that's a little too much." Jungkook gasped as his cheeks turned red when he used his bandaged hand to cover Taehyung's intoxicating lips which summoned dirty words. "Tae!" The younger further gasped and rolled over hastily resulting in pain when Taehyung kissed his palm and licked the bandage to annoy Jungkook.

"Come here and cuddle me. If I live you alone then you are going to break all the remaining bones in your body."

Taehyung carefully turned Jungkook over and pulled him into his arms despite the agony in Jungkook's face which soothed itself by the passing minutes as Taehyung softly rubbed Jungkook's back, easing his discomfort.

"You're my healing exilir Jungkook. You mean so much to me. Thank you for choosing me."

His words rang like a lullaby to Jungkook as the younger drifted off to sleep, making Taehyung smile widely with his boxy grin despite not having his words replied by the younger.

What mattered the most to Taehyung is that he found the one to love and every single hurdle in front of him looked a lot less smaller and manageable by the presence of the younger in his arms. With the same sweet thought in his mind, Taehyung closed his eyes, calling the waves of dream to bring him a peaceful sleep as the lovers united once again with each other, dancing in the dreams.

Epilogue next!
I have thought about making a nasty confrontation between Lucas and Tae, but then I also didn't want to spend the time elaborating.
JK is a sweet and pure soul in this chapter.
And, Taehyung is not vengeful.
It will defeat my purpose to keep them all lovely and intact if I make a confrontation chapter.

Epilogue will see some time skips. You'll be gasping when you read my first paragraph.
It's a surprise.
