I waited in the woods impatiently, tapping my weapon against the bark of some random tree. My actions made soft noises that seemed to echo through the woods, which was a stupid thing to do since the noises could alert enemies, but I honestly could care less.

I was waiting for a Magistrate official by the name of Vivian, but she was taking way too long. I couldn't handle it anymore.

I turned to walk out of the woods, but suddenly someone called out to me,

"Wait a second!"

I panicked, and I looked around wildly for something to climb. I know, it's a weird first thing to look for. I'm a natural born climber though, and I feel safer in the trees. I slung my weapon over my back and prepared to climb.

As I scrambled up the tree, I could hear the same voice calling out to me.

"Wait a second, sir, I-"

I ignored the calls, and grit my teeth as I hauled myself up to the top branch. I let out a sigh of relief as I sat up there, feeling the gentle breeze ruffle my hair. It was calming.

"You! Up there! Come down!"

The voice called out again, and I groaned in frustration as I looked down at who it was.

It appeared to be a woman with red highlights in her hair. She had blue eyes that seemed to pierce me as she stared up at me in disbelief.

I rolled my eyes, and shouted down to her, letting a leg carelessly dangle from the branch of the tree,

"Why would I go down there? You might kill me, for all I know."

I could hear her let out a noise of disbelief as she yelled back,

"I'm Vivian, a Magistrate official! I will not harm you unless if you harm me."

When I heard her name, I was so shocked that I lost my balance. I tumbled off the branch, and as I hurtled down towards the ground, I squeezed my eyes shut.

I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die...!

When I hit the forest floor, all went black.

I heard the noise of soft whirring and a hushed voice when I came back to my senses. My whole body ached, and as I opened my eyes, I was surprised to see a concerned looking Vivian leaning over me. Two spinning... things with orange centers surrounded me, one on each side of me.

My left arm felt a bit weird, so I tried moving it. However, I couldn't. I looked down to my arm and nearly screamed when I saw that it was wrapped in white bandages.

"W-What happened to me?!"

I said, trying to sit up when Vivian pushed me back down, her eyes soft with pity.

"You fell, and broke your arm. You were fortunate enough that that was the only thing you broke. Good thing I sent out my friends to catch you before you could fall..."

"Your friends...?"

I asked weakly, looking around for other people when Vivian chuckled, the noise a light and pleasant sound. She pointed to the machines that were whirring next to me.

"Those are my friends."

"Ah, okay."

I said, trying not to be rude since she had saved me. I didn't really get why she called those machines her friends, but I guess that was a question for another time.

"You're pretty clumsy, I have to admit."

Vivian said softly when she finally decided to
let me sit up, her firm hand supporting my back. She was careful not to touch my weapon.

"Haha, yeah I guess I am pretty clumsy."

I said sheepishly as I rubbed the back of my neck with my unbroken arm. She smiled at me, and then asked curiously,

"What's your name?"

"Y/N. We were supposed to discuss something-"

Vivian cut me off with a single wave of her hand.

"You need to see a doctor for the arm. The meeting can wait."

I tried protesting, but she wouldn't listen to it. Vivian helped me up, and she led me out of the woods. Her friends followed us, and I wondered why she cared so much for me.
