"Holy f***!"

I shouted, an arrow flying past my arm and tearing my sleeve.

A thin cut starts appearing on my arm, a hiss of pain escaping my lips as I touch the wound tenderly. My hand is covered in blood.

The owner of the arrow stands over me, a smirk on his handsome face.

"Guess I've found you, Y/N."

"S-Sha-Lin.."

I manage to grit out, cradling my injured arm.

"So, will you join us? I mean, we need all the help we need, and-"

"I'm sorry Sha-Lin, but I'd rather stay neutral."

Sha-Lin's smirk dropped.

"Huh, I see."

His voice falls flat at the end. The warmth in his eyes are gone.

Sha-Lin and I were child-hood friends, but when the war between the Resistance and Magistrate started, we kind of drifted apart.

"I guess I'll be leaving now."

He turns his back on me, and I call out with obvious desperation in my voice,

"Wait- you hurt me, and now you're going to leave me here to die?"

Sha-Lin sighs, and just kept walking.

I watched him leave, and then I mutter to myself,

"Rude..."

I tear a part of my shirt off, and wrap it around my wound. The white fabric turns red, and I tie a little knot to keep it in place.

"Sh*t... What am I gonna do now..?"

Suddenly, a bright flash of light appears in the sky, and I stare up, awe-struck as a man wearing robes floats down from the heavens.

"Um.."

"Hello. I am Jenos."

The man - or god - says in a calm, deep voice.

He spots my injured arm, and he immediately drifts over to me to help, with a... rabbit in his hand?

Jenos casts a mark on me, and I feel the strength returning to my body.

"T-Thanks..."

I sigh out in relief, and he nods.

"No problem."

He unwraps my bandage with tender, calloused hands, and I look at where the wound used to be.

"It's all gone..."

I say in amazement, examining my arm.

"Yes."

He says simply, and I hug him.

"Thanks so much, Jenos. I might've died without you!"

"Ah, i-it's no problem."

He says, a little flustered.

"By the way, that little rabbit thing you have there is adorable..."
