Things you need? A reliable source of photos and Phonto. There aren't any special affects, and I find it to be aesthetically pleasing, effective for getting views, yet simple all at the same time.

T I P: Try to find a picture that is already 2:3, or 256x400 pixels!!! Cropping it can decrease the quality, like what happened in the "Rose Water" picture.

I searched "Rose Gold" and "Aesthetically pleasing on We Heart It for these photos, but tumblr and Google would do just fine!

My only advice (other than that tip) is to use a simplistic font, and try to place the title correctly. The first one (Rants) has, in my opinion, the perfectly placed title. Having trouble? No worries. On Phonto, if you press the text, you can go to the Move button and move it small space by space with the white arrows. Very helpful.
