Chapter 3 - Meeting up

Error's POV

I heard loud footsteps behind me. I hadn't left this version of the Ruins yet, so I got startled and turned around, only to see... Nobody. What was that? I questioned to myself, continuing forward. Suddenly, I could hear a loud giggle behind me. I turned around again, only to be hugged by... "Blue?? How'd you get down here?" I asked, trying to divert any attention that was focused on my skull, which was turning slightly yellow.

The giggling subsided almost immediately, and Blue looked a lot more serious than he was a few seconds ago. "The others thought you died. I knew better, but.. I had to follow you."

Hearing this, I hugged him tighter, curiosity replaced with a warm, tingly feeling that spread from my chest outwards. We kept that embrace for a little while, then eventually let go and faced the door in front of us. What adventures lie ahead? I questioned to myself as we pushed it open with a creak.

Jaiden's POV

I sat at my post, lazily drawing on a scrap of paper that was in front of me. For whatever reason, today fate had wanted me to draw one - no, two - skeletons. It was turning out pretty good already. One of them was happy and cheerful, while the other bashful and shy. The shy one was black boned, with a few errors here and there, while the happy one had blue eyes and a scarf which was the same color.

Of course I would be startled if those same two characters walked through the MS Paint Ruins door.

I decided to keep to the shadows behind them, suspicious but curious. Eventually I came to the conclusion to do the same to them as what I would do if a human fell down, I mean, I was too lazy to come up with another plan, after all. So, following behind them, I teleported above and crushed the branch behind them, escaping before they could see me.

The scarf one startled, looking behind him. "W-w-what was that?!" he exclaimed, stuttering. The other sighed and rolled his eyes. "That's something that every universe does, Blue, it'll be fine." I chuckled. The shy one was smarter than he looked. As they reached the gate, I put one disappearing ink balloon in each of my hands. Holding them out, I asked them in my dark voice "You don't look from around here.. don't worry, I can show you around, just grab one of my hands, both of you..." The scarf one, Blue, turned around, trembling, and grabbed the left hand. The other one, who I presumed from the 'error' signs around him was named Error, smirked and grabbed the right one. Both of them were splattered instantly.

"Pfft.. the disappearing ink trick. One of my favorites! My name's Jaiden, what're your names?" I said, chuckling. They introduced themselves as I knew their names would be. Error seemed nice enough, but a little bit nervous.. and also a bit of a smart ass. I knew I was gonna be good friends with him.

Blue, though, was a bit too hyper for me. He seemed more like my brother's type.

A/N
I'm making James Jaiden's brother, I don't care, I like that idea more. BACK TO THE STORY

Error's POV

Jaiden seemed nice, after she had stopped with the 'scary' shtick. It seemed like she took Sans's place, considering how laid-back she was. The disappearing ink trick was pretty cool, as most AUs stick to the whoopee cushion. Not that the whoopee cushion was bad, just kind of.. unoriginal, at least by now.

I decided to knit idly, using a pair of needles I always kept with me, and my strings. Jaiden noticed me and looked at the puppet I was making, lighting up. She pulled out a piece of paper and drew the character I was making, X!Chara, as a more detailed drawing. Yeah, we're going to get along great, I thought.
