Chapter 27
An ear splitting ring echos in my skull. I wake up, the ground cold and the sky dark.
A roar makes me jump, and I pull myself to my feet. "Guys?" I call out.
I begin walking, straying away from the glares of suspicious Endermen. "Brice?" I hear a voice call out.
"Seto!" I shout. "Seto, where are you?"
"Uh.. No idea."
"Hello?!" Jason yells out. "I've got Adam with me."
"Jason!" I hear Adam call. "Jason, I'm startled!"
"Alright, let's find everyone!" I call out, the sound of my voice bouncing off the Endstone.
I break off into a sprint in one direction, hoping I'm going somewhere. "Jerome!" I hear Mitch scream.
I run towards his voice, to see him on his knees over a cliff into the void. I go up beside him, to see Jerome on a ledge below.
"I tripped! Don't look at me like that!" Jerome says. I look over at Mitch, who has a terrified look on his face.
"I'll get him," I say, going through my backpack that I'm glad I brought. I pull out a rope, handing on end to Mitch.
I throw the other end down to Jerome and grab onto the rope behind Bajan. I feel a tug on the rope, but from behind me.
I look over my shoulder to see Tyler and Ian gripping onto the rope. "One.." I begin.
"Two.." Mitch says.
"Three!" Tyler calls, yanking on the rope. The four of us pull, helping Jerome up the cliff. He climbs up and I load the rope back into my backpack.
"Should we look for the others?" Ian asks. We all nod and begin walking.

I see a flash of orange and blue disappear behind one of the obsidian towers. I say to the others I'm going to see who it is and I run over.
I approach the pillar and turn the corner to have a sword aimed at my neck. The iron weapon is lowered by Vikk.
"Gosh, what the shrimp, man? We thought it was another one of those Ender buggers," Preston sighs.
"Have you seen anyone else?" Jerome asks the two as the four friends I was traveling with walk up.
Vikk shakes his head. "Not so far."
"I heard from Seto, Jason and Adam when I first came in, but I didn't see them," I say.
"Oi! Look at this party! Why was the Aussie not invited?" We turn around to see Lachlan approaching.
"Hey Lachy," Preston greets with a wave.
Tyler raises a hand. "Uh, should we not look for the others? Eight down, six to go."

We decided to split up to cover more ground, and I was somehow paired up with Preston. We were walking in quietness until he spoke up.
"Wait, so are you Austrialian, like Lachlan? Because you two got similar accents."
I nod. "Actually, yeah. I am, good observation."
He nodded and we kept walking in silence. But my mind sure wasn't.
Thoughts and questions were buzzing around in my brain like flies, so I picked one out of a jar. "Uh, this may seem weird, Preston, but what did you guys need information on about Seto?"
Preston looks up, brushing a lock of firey-orange hair behind his ear. "Uh.. If I tell you, will you tell Seto?"
I shrugged. "Depends, now spill."
The Texan sighed. "Seto was accused of murder, and we were sent to gather information on him, but we couldn't get close enough."
I stopped in my tracks. I couldn't imagine Seto a murderer. "Something else that's been bugging me..."
Preston haulted, noticing I stopped. "And what would that be?"
I looked back up. "Why'd Mitch and Jerome leave the Pack?"
He looked down, tapping on the Endstone with his sneaker. "The two were already friends with you, and when they heard we'd have to get you in on it, they freaked. We never saw 'em until when we went to the school."
"And why'd you guys, well, become you?"
Preston looks at me in confusion. "What do you mean?"
I cleared my throat. "Become.. Become such, bad guys."
He scratched the back of his head. "Do you really think we mean any harm? Like, I wouldn't assassinate a nine year old! I'm not like that.."
My mood drops even more, remembering when the man that stood infront of me held a knife to Mouse's neck. "Then.. why?"
He crossed his arms. "Why? Because we had to, you know, give you a scare. Or else we'd be dead."
"You remember that you shot me with an arrow and put me in a coma, correct?"
His eyes widen. "Really?! Wow, that's never happened before.." I raised an eyebrow, which made him put out his hands in a defensive manner. "N-not that I meant to! I swear!"
I sighed. "Yeah, yeah. But who made you do all this?"
"I... I don't know. Rob knows everything and he's who knows where. Fudge, he could be dead! This is a lost terrain!" Preston, to be surprised, was actually crying at this point.
He sat down in the stone, hugging his knees. "I j-just, I don't know man. I-I'm worried about him."
This was weird to see. I've never seen someone who has done so much to the people I know in a state like this. Preston lifts his head, wiping a tear from his face.
He stands, walking off and I sorta smile. "Let's find everyone."

"Wait, who's that?" I point out at the distance, to see a group of, three, I'm pretty sure, battling a horde of Endermen.
I see the blue of Jason's hoodie and I sprint over, Preston right behind me.
I jump onto Adam, which makes him screech. "Gah! Brice! Get off!"
Rolling my eyes, I jump off his back and walk up to Jason. He's whipping his iron sword around, getting teased by a single Enderman.
The Enderman stopped teleporting, and I haulted Jason before he killed it. I crouched down to the Enderman, who seemed more like a child and was looking for a game.
I patted it on the head and it let out a giggle, its purple dust flying around. Until an arrow is shot right through its skull.
I glance over my shoulder, glaring at Quentin who shot. The mudkip shrugged. "What?"
