Chapter 9

LOATHE

She was still in her office when her father paid her a visit, as they both had a conversation about business and deals it ended up on YN, Steven and Jungkook as always any convo between them would end.

Jung :" I don't understand why do I still see Jungkook around you even when Steven is back."

" You don't need to understand dad." Her finger tips flipped the pages over a file putting her concentration on it, but she knew better what she was doing and how she wanted it to look like.

Jung :" Steven is going to be your husband. You are basically cheating on him."

"Isn't it fair. I saw him cheating on me too."

Jung :" What... When?"

" that day the incident happened. When you went to meet Jungkook and oppa."

Jung :" You've been mistaken. He was with me that whole day. He is serious about Marrying you."

" ofcourse" Her fingers stopped working for a moment before she whispered again "ofcourse."

"you don't need to worry about anything." Her emotionless voice ringed his ears as he stood up taking his leave. She bit her inner cheek so harshly she could feel a metallic taste on her taste buds as she saw through her peripheral vision her father stepping out of the room. Her eyes seemed numb as they stopped on her cellphone placed on the table in front of her. A storm going on within her brain walls and it all ended on one decision.

The next moment she picked up her cellphone and called one certain person who didn't take much time before picking it up. She could already sense the victorious and a very mocking smirk dancing on his lips.

" we need to meet, Jungkook."

JK: "Darling, I'm not good at reading eyes. You need to talk." He was seated in his office chair with his legs on top of the table, feet crossed. He had this amusement lacing his voice watching the girl sitting crossed him on the chair in his office

"It's going to be painful." a smile appeared on his lips taking into her words, a smile so painful for her to watch knowing the hidden meaning behind it. It screamed on her face-

Jk: "Don't worry, pretty familiar with the word by now."

'word' - that's how he preferred to define an emotion, his emotions. His eyes slowly drifted off her towards his hand that randomely rolled a pen around it's fingers. A sudden chill ran down his spine almost - almost fearing what she had to propose knowing her it wasn't going to be easy. Specially after everything the went through.

" Apply to court to Re-open the case." the force with which Jungkook's head snapped was enough to cause a whiplash. His eyes took in the seriousness her barely illuminated eyes held.

JK :" You're asking me to go through everything all over again." His fingers curled into fist, voice louder than before as he necked ahead to pierce an eye contact with the other.

YN :" I want oppa to get justice --"

"How considerate of you, thank you so much. I have to agree that was quick." The irony of the moment how he chose that sarcastic, hatred tone to reply that ignite a flame of pain within her heart, she didn't know existed anymore.

YN :" You initiated the fight Jungkook. Why? "

" Told already about numerous times, Steven said shit about you. "

YN :" Said what?" He squinted his eyes, patience dancing on the edge of thin string not able to understand what was the use of starting this sensitive conversation once again.

" I don't remember."

YN :" Jungkook plea--"

" I said I don't remember!" He yelled eyes piercing through her soul as his voice slowly drained at the end. "I... am not lying."

YN :" Think about it Jungkook."

JK :" Just say what you are trying to say YN, don't test my patience."

YN :" Steven told me he was going to LA to set a deal with HVAC Co."

"It was with Empor Co. Ltd. Where is Steven coming in between."

YN :" Exactly, he lied. I wasn't into business back then. He had no reason to leave when he just came from LA to marry me. I was too gone to realize at that point. Why did he leave without Marrying me..." Silence fell apart for a moment recalling the worse memories of their lives. Regardless of how much he hated it, he was suddenly interested to know where it was going. A sudden spark rose within him which took years to fade.

" He fled. Even when the case was over. He fled and I can bet everything on that. About dad.... I thought, going through crisis your company ultimately started weakening for the time being and dad did his best to distract himself with work and that's how our company rose to yours level. I was wrong. Before coming to you, I checked the transaction report three years ago and a huge sum of money was transfered to company's account... Without any specific reason behind it. "

"It was self defense" He muttered under his breath as if the voice was forced out of his throat. As if he wasn't speaking his own words anymore. The same words screamed at his face years ago, repeatedly to the point he couldn't separate their words with his own anymore.

"They are going to declare it self defense again and I.... have no courage to go through this again." First time in years he spoke the truth, he wasn't strong, the cold facade he built was all a lie. The pretty cold lies you feed yourself to escape the reality.

YN:" Let me do it if you can't. Your testimonies must be in their database. You won't need to give them again. Maybe once or twice you will be distur--"

JK :" You're still Marrying Steven?" She shut her rambling hearing his voice which sounded hurt.

"yeah"

"Even knowing he was wrong? "

"Even knowing he was wrong." He balled his fists so tightly to possibly bleed by the force of his own nails.

"For not taking your side, for standing beside dad. For Jinwoo." a punishment. The possible extreme of humiliation she had to face held no value in front of the betrayal the other faced - according to her ofcourse.

"Deserved." He muttered under his breath shifting his eyes elsewhere. Fortunately or not she heard those words that stung. "Leave, Do whatever you want."

For a moment or two she stayed, her eyes lingered on him expecting one last glance but maybe it was too much to ask. A little control on herself wouldn't be wrong after all it took to build that cold wall around her heart. It was not supposed to melt now.

He heard her heels clicking against the floor leaving the office, soon enough silence devoured the room once again leaving him to loathe her choice. The thoughts encircling his head were not going to leave him in peace. Even after falling apart he couldn't bare a touch on her by someone else.

"Don't do that.... Please."
