Tears rolled down the girls cheeks as she saw her brother. He stood frozen, with one hand on the door handle and the other hanging loosely by his side. His eyes were wide and he seemed lost before he composed himself and rushed to his sisters side.

"Hey! Hey!" Luke cooed. "You're okay. You're alright. Everything's gonna be fine."

Elena buried her head into her brothers shoulder. Her salty tears soaked through the blue fabric of Luke's t-shirt. Her shoulders shook as she sobbed and the t-shirt muffled the sounds escaping from her mouth, as she clutched at the bottom of it with her hands in fists. Luke rubbed circles on her back with one hand, and clutched her tight with the other, whilst also trying to hold back tears of his own.

"You're safe now. I'll look after you. You're okay."

Time seemed to stop as the two siblings stayed in one another's embrace, each one of them broken. Elena's sobbing finally ceased, yet her breathing was still in short, rapid breaths.

"You good?" Luke asked, although how could he expect her to be good? They'd just lost their parents, and both siblings were far from good.

Elena nodded, lifting her head away from Luke's shoulder and wiping her eyes.

    "Where's Mom and Dad?"

Luke's heart almost stopped. She doesn't know. She didn't know that their parents were dead. He opened his mouth to speak but no words came out.

"Please, Luke. I wanna know. Nobody's telling me anything."

Elena's begging was enough to snap Like out of his daze. "God, Elena, I'm so sorry-" The man began, but he stopped as Elena's eyes began to fill with tears once again.

Luke gently pulled Elena in for a hug, and tear streamed down her face as she buried her head into his shoulder. Luke continuously rubbed circles on her back, in hopes of comforting the girl. But how do you comfort someone whose just lost their parents when you're still grieving yourself?

When Elena's sobs died down, she sniffed before mumbling into her brothers shoulder, "Whats going to happen to me?" Her voice was quiet, timid, and it broke Luke's heart to hear her sounding so broken.

"I've already sorted that." He spoke softly. "You're coming to live with me."

"Are-are you sure? I mean, you've got work, and-" Luke cut off Elena's rushed talk.

"And you come first, Lena. Besides, I can still work. Calum's already said we can take a break for the next two weeks."

"I'm gonna see Calum?" Elena had missed the rest of the 5 Seconds Of Summer band, and her most beloved memories mostly consisted of the boys. Yet, they'd moved away, and a FaceTime every once in a while was her only form of contact with her brother and his best friends.

Luke grinned. "You'll be living with him! And the rest of us!"

Elena crinkled her nose in confusion. Huh? Her mind was still slightly hazy from the pain medication, and it took her a few moments for everything to click.

"Oh!" She spoke, drawing out the syllable.

Luke chuckled in response, before ruffling her hair. "I'm gonna go talk to a nurse, okay? I'll find out when you can leave."

His sister nodded in response, a small grin on her face as she thought about seeing her brothers bandmates again. They were more then friends to her, they were her older brothers, and she'd known them for years.

Elena's fondest memories contained the four boys, and although there were a seven year age gap between her and the youngest band members, they couldn't be closer. Calum and her brother had often picked her up from school, blasting loud music that was ten years old, which more often then not left Elena red with embarrassment as she hurriedly hid in the back seat of the car. At the time, Elena had hated it, but afterwards she would hold the memory close, a fond smile on her face every time she recalled it.

Michael was nuts, and Elena loved that. The two were forever getting into trouble as one encouraged the other, both as childish as each other. The pair knew no bounds when they were with one another, and the rest of the 5SOS band had soon learned not to leave them alone when they were together. Otherwise, you were asking for trouble.

Although Elena hadn't known Ashton Irwin as long as she'd known the rest of the boys, she still adored him just the same. He was snarky and sarcastic, with a quick-wit and the ability to win almost any argument. Elena took a liking to him immediately, and the two would often for hours on end, offending each other in the process.

Elena would be lying to herself is she said she hadn't missed her brothers.

Luke's head poked through the hospital rooms door, a silly grin covering half of his face. He strolled towards Elena, before plopping himself down into the chair beside her.

"So?" Elena asked. "When can I leave?"

"The doctor said that because you were lucky enough to come out of the crash with only a minor amount of damage..." Luke dwindled, dragging out his reply.

Elena huffed in frustration. "When can I leave?"

"Three days." Luke replied, chuckling at his sisters impatience.

"That's ages!"

Elena threw herself back onto the sterile sheets of the hospital dead, before groaning as pain flared up in her side. Luke immediately rushed forwards, stretching out his arms to assist the girl.

"Hey! You need to be gentle! The doctor said you have a few broken ribs and a couple of stitches. You don't wanna reopen those!" He cautioned the girl.

Elena winced in response, before a nurse walked into the room.

The nurses smile was too big, too fake.  It didn't carry to her eyes, and it was more sympathetic then anything. It got on Elena's nerves.

"I'm sorry. I hope I didn't disturb you. I need to give her some more pain medication." Her voice was sticky sweet, dripping like treacle.

"I don't wanna." Elena whimpered. "I don't wanna, Luke. Please, don't let her."

"She's got to, Lena." Luke sat down in the uncomfortable plastic hospital chair. He brushed a strand of Elena's hair behind her ear, an attempt to calm the girl.

The nurse manoeuvred herself around Elena's bed. She reached up to the hanger holding the IV drip, pulling off another tube that was connected to Elena's arms. She pressed a syringe into it, and Elena's brow creased as she  tried to figure out where it had come from.

Elena flinched when she felt the sting of the pain medication enter her blood, and soon enough her eyelids began to droop. She began to feel drowsy, and she let Luke guide her backwards onto her pillow. As Luke pulled his hands away she reached out to grab one, a small whine playing at the edge of her lips.

    "Don't leave me, Lukey."

A small smile danced on Luke's lips as Elena pronounced the nickname she'd given him at the age of two. He tightened his grip on her hand, as if to reassure the girl that he was still there, before he replied, "I won't."

"You don't have to do it." Luke's gentle reminder was followed by a hand resting on her shoulder. Elena continued to stare forward at the church before her.

Elena didn't feel like herself, but she hadn't for the past three days. She felt uncomfortable in the black dress she was wearing; it wasn't what she'd usually wear. Elena had wanted to wear a pair of jeans and a black top to the funeral - something her parents had seen her wear on the daily - but Luke had insisted otherwise. He had said she had to wear the dress.

Tears pooled in Elena's eyes once again as she thought about her parents. She had to go. She had to be here. She wouldn't be able to live with herself if she didn't go in.

"Yes, I do." Her voice was barely a whisper.

Luke grabbed her hand, and she squeezed it tightly in return before the two made their way into the old building, being greeted by people offering their condolences as they made their way to the front row of pews.
