-Chapter 2-
Marinette's POV
I screamed as I saw it appear in front of me. "Shh! Tikki said to me, "Don't let your parents hear you! They cannot know about me."
I stopped screaming when she said parents. I ended up finding myself crying again. "Oh no!" Tikki said, "Did I say something wrong?" I didn't even look at her.
"Please tell me what's wrong, whatever you go through, I go through it too." Tikki said as she came closer to me.
I looked up at her, "I-It's nothing. It's just that something happened..." I said back to Tikki.
"Okay, well this is harder than I thought. I don't care how little it might be, I just want to know why you're crying."
I looked at her as I wiped my tears, "I saw someone walking out in the road, so I went to go save them, and a speeding car came then... my mom saved me." I felt more tears come from my eyes as I said that, but I continued to keep wiping my tears.
Tikki came up to me and hugged my cheek. "That must be hard..." Tikki said to me, "But you're not alone anymore. You have me now! Your new best friend that will never leave you no matter what." Tikki said as she smiled.
I smiled a bit when she said that. I had no idea how she even got here, but it was as if I knew her forever. I never had any friends either since I just didn't know how to, so I guess this was a great start for me.
"I have no idea what the time is, nor what year it is, but do you want me to explain who I am and why I came here now, or do you want me to tell you tomorrow?" Tikki said to me.
"I don't plan on sleeping for a while, so you can tell me it now." I said back to her.
"Well, I'm Tikki! The Kwami of creation. I transform you into someone who can defeat your opponent. From what I heard from the guardian was that there was a new villain in town named Hawk Moth and you'll have to defeat him in order to gain peace in Paris! I have no idea when he'll start, but if you ever see a villain creature or whatever you call those things where people come into a screen, all you'll have to say it Tikki, spots on! Do you want to say it for practice? Also, to de-transform you have to say Tikki spots off."
This was all too much to even process. So, I'm some type of superhero now?
"Well, if you're not going to say anything then at least say Tikki, spots on then after say Tikki, spots off as a practice." Tikki said to me, breaking the silence.
"Tikki, spots on." I said as a red light appeared over me, after Tikki disappeared. "Tikki," I hollered out, "Where are you?!" She didn't say anything. I didn't feel any different, and I looked at my hand. My whole hand was red with black polka dots on it. I screamed as I walked over to the mirror.
"SO, WHAT AM I NOW?! YOUR CLONE!" I yelled, but of course, I had no idea where Tikki was. "Spots off." I said as I saw Tikki appear in front of me, and the suit came off of me too.
"You did it!" Tikki said to me.
"WHERE WERE YOU AND HOW DID YOU JUST RANDOMLY APPEAR IN FRONT OF ME?!" I yelled at Tikki.
"Calm down," Tikki said, "When you say Tikki, spots on, I disappear because I get transformed into your earring so you can get your powers. Although you weren't able to use your power of lucky charm and to capture a butterfly in your yoyo, you'll eventually be doing it soon.
"AM I SOME TYPE OF SUPERHERO NOW?! I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO DEFEAT A VILLAIN; THEY SCARE ME ALL THE TIME INSIDE OF MOVIES!"
"This is not a movie, Marinette. This is reality and I believe in you that you can do it. After when you defeat Hawk Moth, you don't have to worry about it anymore. Got it?"
I didn't even say anything. It was really too much to process, after what just happened, I'm apparently a superhero now.
"Marinette, I won't force you, but don't underestimate yourself; I believe in you." Tikki said to me.
"I'll do it." I said back to Tikki.
"That's great! But I have one last question."
"What is it?"
"What year is it?"
I laughed as Tikki said that. "It's 2023." I said back to Tikki.
"Really? It was as if it was 1954 a second ago! Anyways, from looking outside I can tell it's getting pretty late. You should get some rest."
"Yeah, I guess so since my first day at school is tomorrow." I said as I walked to the bathroom and did my night routine.
After, I got on my pajamas and went on my bed. Maybe life isn't as bad as I thought it would be, as long as I have Tikki by my side, I think I'm good.
***
It was the next day. I looked over on my pillow and saw Tikki laying there and sleeping. I smiled at her as I got off my bed. I got my clothes on, and I was ready to go to school, but I looked at Tikki. I picked her up slowly and gently tapped her. "I don't want to wake you up, but I have to go to school, and I don't think I should leave you here alone." I said to Tikki. She rubbed her eyes as she flew into my purse. I smiled and went downstairs into the bakery.
I looked at my dad and saw him baking croissants as he handed me one. Then, I looked next to him and didn't see who I wanted to see. It seemed empty without mom being there too. My smile faded while thinking about that thought.
"Have a great day at school, Marinette." My dad said to me as he gave me a sad smile.
"Bye, dad." I said as I walked out the bakery.
It was still raining, but I didn't even bother to carry my umbrella; I just quickly ran to school. After I got into the building.
There were lots of people there; I started to freak out as I saw them. They were all talking with other people, and they wore cool out fits while I just wore a simple one. I saw some of them look at me and I quickly looked away.
I felt like I was some type of random kid that was a loner on the first day of school. Everyone had friends and it was as if I didn't.
I looked at a paper I had in my hand that had the classroom number that I was going to on it. I quickly walked to my class and entered it. As I entered the classroom, I saw someone who I was not expecting to see.
Chole.
