-Chapter 1-
Marinette's POV
It was another rainy day. I held an umbrella over us as I was holding some grocery bags. We both were both talking to each other too. After, we made it to a bus stop. My mom and I were waiting at a bus stop for the bus. Every single Sunday, we would always spend the day with each other which I enjoyed so much. I was looking over the distance and I saw an elderly man walking across the street while the green light was still on. I looked away after that.
Wait a minute, did I just see someone crossing the street while cars are still coming? "Hold this." I said to my mom as I handed my mom the grocery bag. I quickly ran across the street to go save the elderly man. "MARINETTE!" My mom yelled, "THERE ARE STILL CARS COMING, YOU CAN'T JUST CROSS THE STREET!" I ignored what she was saying and quickly grabbed the hand of the old man and started running across the street with him, but the cars were coming too fast. As I was running, I tripped and fell on the ground, so did the old man.
I guess this is the end of me. I panicked as I put my hands over the old man making sure he wouldn't get hurt. I heard a car come, then stop although I did hear it hit something. I looked behind me and I saw...
My mom.
I screamed as I tried lifting her up. "MOM!" I yelled, but she didn't even respond. I looked back at the old man, but he wasn't there. "WHERE THE HELL DID, HE GO?!" I yelled. He saw someone get hit by a car, and just left?! Who does he think he is! The person in the car quickly came running out their car as they crouched down right next to my mom and me.
"OH MY GOSH!" The person screamed, "I'M VERY SORRY, IT'S JUST THAT IT WAS GREEN AND I WAS TRYING TO STOP, BUT I COULDN'T! LET ME CALL 911 RIGHT NOW!" They pulled out their phone and started to talk to someone "THE AMBULANCE IS ON THE WAY!" They yelled.
All I heard was mumbled sound. I couldn't hear a single word they were talking about; all I could focus on was my mom. I felt tears come down from my eyes as I looked at her. She was just there laying in the road.
I heard ambulance sirens in the background as I stood up. I looked behind me and saw 4 doctor looking people come for my mom. I watched as they took her away and didn't even say a word while they were doing so.
"I'M SORRY ONCE AGAIN!" The person yelled as they got back into their car and drove away. I was still there standing in the road as people started to drive around me. After, I rain home and started crying even harder. THIS HAS TO BE A DREAM, THIS HAS TO BE A DREAM! After, I ran home into the bakery, and saw my dad. He looked at me with terror in his eyes as he saw me crying.
"What happened, and where's Sabine?" My dad said concerningly.
"S-SHE GOT HIT BY A CAR!" I yelled in tears, "THE AMBULANCE TOOK HER!"
My dad looked at me as we stood there in silence. He came up to me and hugged me as I heard him crying too. "Go into the car." My dad said, "We're going to the hospital."
I walked with my dad to the car and sat in the back seat of the car. We drove to the hospital, and my dad talked to the front desk. I was sitting in the waiting room fidgeting with my fingers. After, my dad sat down next to me.
We sat there in complete silence; I didn't even look at him once. One the doctors came up to us.
"We tried our hardest..." The doctor said, "She was losing too much blood on the way to the hospital, and we didn't have any available blood so we could do blood transfers. I'm very sorry, but she didn't make it..."
I felt even more tears come down from my eyes. THIS CANNOT BE TRUE, IT JUST CAN'T! My dad hugged me as we stayed there.
After some time, my dad went up to the front desk and then we both left the hospital. The rest of the car ride home was silent. The thing that made it worse was that my first day of 9th grade was tomorrow.
As I got home, I quickly ran up to my room and slammed my door. I threw my purse on the ground and started crying extremely hard. I couldn't even think at that point, it was as if nothing even mattered anymore. I hugged my legs as I was on the ground crying. While I was on the ground, I saw a something shining through the corner of my eye. I looked around and saw that something fell out of my purse when I threw it to the ground.
I looked at what it was and saw a tiny box. I wiped my tears as I opened it. I saw sparkly earrings that were red with black polka dots on them. It must've been something that my mom sneaked into my bag while I wasn't looking. I put the earrings on as I saw a bright light appear in front of me.
"Hello!" A red bug with black polka dots said, "I'm Tikki, the Kwami of creation!"
