Another village was destroyed by the knights who called themselves holy, carrying shields with large black crosses on them and white robes that were usually dirty with soil, grass, and blood.

You weren't there, your village was far and safe but for how long, their horses could reach you in a day, if not days. They weren't there but you feel their breath close to your neck... it was not the time to think about those, you had to deliver water to your siblings.

You put on your cloak and closed the door tight, entered the farm, and grabbed a bucket. It wasn't the best, you were using that for pigs and sheep but you weren't in place to buy or make a new one.  "Swayxtix oh I pray thee, make my way full of light and ease," you murmured.

The weather wasn't looking good, it was almost clouds wanted to cry. "I have to be quick" you thought and began to walk towards a hill, where the well was located. The hill was the thing divided the village and the forest, that was the reason why grass began to shorten and terrible smells of dead animal bodies started.

You took a stick from the ground to climb better, carefully putting it to the ground and support yourself rather than breaking the pebbles with it. You almost reached the peak, with few steps you were able to see both forest and your house, you waved hoping that one of your siblings will wave you back but they didnt see you.

You slided through the downhill and felt on your ass at the end. "Ouch" you squealed and walked the rest of the way with rubbing your right back. You didn't need to enter the forest so you just walked from the side, the well was at the end of the line.

"A bird with yellow feathers,
came to my window last night,
his duty was bringing letters
It couldn't be someone else than my knight-" you started to sing a random song from your mind to spend some time and relieve the fear you had these days. Finally, you only needed to take a turn to reach the well.

You passed the big Oak tree that you accidently hit with your bucket. "Sorry" you apologised and kissed the wood. With a smile on your face you walked to the well. You noticed there was already a bucket so you pulled the rope, pulled it and pulled it, when it came you noticed there was a bird in there, inside the bucket, swimming in water. You took the bucket and immediately help the little fellow.

"Aww, you felt in there?" You dried him with your skirt.

"Help... me"

You turned your face to the well again, there wasn't anyone.

"Did you just speak little bird?" You asked the still unconscious animal in your hands.

"Please..."

You walked around the well and found a wounded young man, with white hair like old man or the gods they spoke of during the rituals. He was wearing a white robe and nothing was there next to him, you gently put the bird on the ground and checked the young man

"Where does it hurt?" you asked him panicked, he showed his stomach, you pulled up the robe and saw a cut, it didnt seem serious but surely hurts. You ripped a piece of cloth from the skirt you used on the bird and pressured on the wound. It was like the story of the maiden, who aided the god of light. You started to believe this mysterious man is not from around but up.

"Can you get up?" you asked the man and offered your stick. He grabbed him tight and put his other arm around your shoulders. You gently took the bird in your pockets and started to lead the god of light to your humble house.
