Kiss
For many days Shane wandered in the forest, breaking the sacred rule that said that a lone wolf who abandoned his pack like him had to stay in his territory. But in his territory there was Chase.
Chase who saved him.
When he thought that he'd been apart from him for enough time, he went back to the place which he felt like it was home more than his bed or the cave where he was born. The door of the hovel was ajar as always, but there was no smell of meat.
Had he already forgotten about him?
He grumbled his disappointment in a canine way and smelled and marked again the house and the hovel. The human was inside, his smell was unmistakable.
He ran to the door and hit it with his head. It opened immediately with a creepy creak. He trotted to the human.
Chase was sitting in the middle of his room, with his legs crossed, on the wooden floor.
- I was waiting for you - he smiled, then snorted. - I beg you not to break through my door everytime you enter. Scrabble and I'll open it.
The wolf wagged his tail and sat in front of him, then yawned. A moment before the dark haired boy was counting his sharp, white teeth in his red mouth, a moment later in the same mouth there were normal human teeth, apart from the canines which were longer and sharper.
Chase stared at him, before forcing himself to look away.
- Are you not embarassed? - he asked, even though he was the most embarassed.
- Of what?
- Of b-being naked...
Shane shrugged and looked at his hand. How much time had passed since the last time he transformed himself into the human form because he wanted to?
Chase stood up and rummaged his closet, then throw a black vest and a pair of jeans at him, before sitting down again.
The brown haired boy wore them. They suited him.
- You can keep them, if you want.
He arched an eyebrow.
- What can a wolf do with clothes? - he asked. The silence wrapped them, along with the discomfort, like a dark cloud.
- Wolf, uh? - said eventually Chase. The wolf-boy nodded.
- You shouldn't have seen me...
- I know. Why did you transform yourself?
- I didn't want to. The virtually deadly situations cause the unintentional transformation. An injured wolf can resist for a longer time and has more chances to survive, but has enough chances to find a crazy hunter who can decide to shoot him because he's weak and vulnerable - he paused, curling his lips up and showing his canines. - An injured human dies more quickly without help, but it's more pitiful and has more chances to find someone to save him.
- I didn't save you out of pity - commented the boy with red eyes.
Shane didn't reply.
- How did you get... that? - Chase pointed the scar on his chest, the one which he cured.
- It was a deer...
- Ah...
The brown haired boy shrugged and curled up his nose.
- Are you afraid of me? - he asked. There was no smell of fear.
- Why should I be?
And he leaned towards the wolf-boy, before kissing him softly on the lips. Shane found himself, surprised, to reciprocate that kiss. It was like when he was a wolf and he ate something delicious like a baby deer or a chubby bunny: a delicious, intoxicant, addictive sensation.
The dark haired boy broke off the kiss and stared at him.
The boy with golden eyes touched his own lips with his fingers, out of breath. Then he closed his eyes for a long second and took off the vest.
Chase felt a shiver run down his spine. What was he about to do?
Shane pushed him on the floor and kissed him again, pushing his tongue between his lips while he unbottoned his jeans. The dark haired boy put his hand on his soft brown hair.
And suddendly the wolf-boy stood up and turned around, letting his pants fell on the floor. Disappointed, Chase saw him transforming himself in a wolf and turning towards the window in his room.
The animal jumped on the bed and then jumped out with an elegant jump. The dark haired boy leaned out the window.
- Shane! I love you! - he shouted. The wolf wagged his tail and grumbled.
The human didn't ask him if he'd come back. Shane always came back.
