Chapter 9

Unedited

"So you just had sex with Royal Highness for someone that isn't your sister. Na wa oh, why you no leave her make she fuck am by herself" Chika, Ejiro's neighbor and friend complained and Ejiro turned back at the door.

"Shhhh" she placed her index finger across her lips. "She wouldn't have been able to do it" "Is she a virgin?" "No"

"Then why now?"

"I don help am, I don help am, why you dey complain like say na your toto I use?" She asked busting into laughter and Chika laughed. "I know how you hate that Ochuko now"

"It's just one sex"

"One sex that can make you have AIDS. I hope you used condoms?"

"Before nko?"Ejiro asked, "Where's Osas?" "She's cooking in the kitchen, she said she wants to surprise me but I told her not to stress herself."

"Person come your house, you dey tell am make she no stress herself. Ejiro, you dey Sabi mumu oh" she snapped and Ejiro slapped her arm.

"Ouch!"

Osas walked into the room with a pot of stew and the aroma filled the environment.

"That smells good" Ejiro commented, "I hope it tastes good too. Make I rush go bring plate come" Chika answered running off and Osas smiled.

"I already told you not to stress yourself. You need money for yourself too, you can't just waste it on one stew"

"How many strew I cook?" Osas hissed, "It's just the little I can do for the help way you render. I really appreciate it"

"You're welcome. At least you'll have something to send to your brothers in Benin"

"Yes"

Obianuju folded her hands as Raymond drove her to work, it was a really long journey as all attempt for him to start up a topic with her became futile.

"Obianuju" he called out and she looked out the window, "If you're upset with me, just come out and say it"

"Up..... Upset? I can't believe you used the word upset! I'm not even angry, I'm furious! You came home last night after I spent hours waiting for you! Hours Honey! You ate the food and then you crashed on the bed"

"Shouldn't I have eaten the food?"

"You! You're not getting the point here! I waited but it would have also been better if you didn't eat the food at all! And what's it with you calling me by by name, you know I hate it!" She snapped letting out a loud frustrated sigh.

"I'm sorry"

"What are you apologizing for?"

Raymond shook his head, women wahala!  "Okay.... Are you on your periods?" He asked and she hissed, "You would have obviously known of you had bothered checking last night but you didn't!"

"Are you angry because I didn't check?" He teased her and she looked away then it hit her, only two things were capable of making his wife lose her cool.

Her periods and ovulation!

"Shit!" He cussed, "You're ovulating right?"

Obianuju rolled her eyes and tears poured down her eyes. "I waited last night so you could..... " She trailed off, "It's like you don't wanna try anymore! Just let me know if there's another woman, let me know what to do! You know what? I'm on my way to work and I need to be in the right frame of mind to do my job well so, Raymond, I'll advise we drop this topic"

"There's no other woman Nuju, sorry Babe,  it's just you! I swear on everything I believe in"  he answered pulling off besides another car.  "This ovulation day still continues, we can still try something today, I promise to make it up to you"

Obianuju pushed the door open and he felt guilty. "Not even a kiss?" "Good bye Honey" she replied leaving and he exhaled.

Just as she walked towards the Osaze Benjamin's foundation building, a call came in from her friend. "Hey" "Have you seen her?" "Seen who?"

"Rashida, the woman I sent so you can hiring her cleaning services"

"I hope she's efficient cause Mr Osaze has been firing"  "She's good, she's really good"

Obianuju exhaled, "No wahala, I'll talk Osaze into it" "Great. Thank you" "No qualms" she replied then entered into the lobby to see a woman in her early thirties seated there.

Osas folded her legs eating the rice and stew on the floor. "I don't understand why men are so funny? See as him been dey pursue me like fly way see shit"

"That's Mr Goriola for you!" Ejiro answered rolling her eyes. "He chases anything in skirt!"

"I don't know why he has that face"

"What face? Super star face? The man is handsome sha"

"Not handsome"

"Deny that he's not handsome" "He is handsome, not like Osaze sha" she replied and Ejiro stared int interest, "Who's Osaze? Is it Osaze the footballer?"

"No!" Osas laughed then she exhaled, "I met him on the bus on my way to Benin, na him sit down for my side" she answered with a smile.

"Wait.... I thought you said the only person you ever liked was from when you were little"

"No, I don't like him, I just dey wonder where him go dey now, how him be.  I really disturbed him on the bus oh." She laughed at the thought of it and Ejiro joined her.

Raymond returned to the foundation during his lunch break with a flower in his hand. Obianuju almost smiled on seeing him, but she managed to wear a blank look.

"Babe, I haven't been able to think all morning. There's this guilt in my mind that if I don't let it go, it'll devour me and ruin my entire day" he confessed now kneeling before her. He had no choice but to apologise or else he'll still return back home meeting the same problem!

"I'm sorry for being a real dick! I got home tired and I failed in dispensing my duty as a husband. You're right, I shouldn't have even eaten your food but it tasted delicious anyways" he answered and she chuckled.

"I love you Obianuju and I'm really sorry. Accept my apology" he handed the flowers to her and she sniffled it.

"Awwwwn"

"I won't go to the club with the guys, I promise to come home directly and do you right? However way you want it, we can go all night"  he exaggerated moving his lips close to hers.

"However way I want it?" She asked and he smiled kissing her and she moved her head backwards.

"No kissing in the office"

"I almost forgot. Is Osaze around?"

"Yes"

"Let me just breeze in quickly then" he answered and she smiled watching him walk in.

"Oh...sa...ze!" He called out and Osaze lifted his head after being distracted from writing. "Hey Ray. How are you?"

"Me?" He asked shaking his friend's hands then he sat on the chair across his desk. "I'm frustrated by my precious wife. Don't let her know"

"What's going on?"

"She has been going on and going on about having kids. You know we've been trying for two years now? Mehn, all I ever hear is her cry for a baby. Why do you think I hang around with the guys till it's late?I just want to make love with my wife and not because I want it feterlizing her eggs. It's becoming annoying and we've been quarreling."

Osaze stared at him, his face as expressionless as ever! "I'm not a marriage counselor. Maybe you should try talking to her" "You don't understand women and their mood swings. It's like they see their periods every day! It's annoying. Enough about me jhoor! How are you doing?"

"I'm fine"

"Why don't I rephrase it, have you been sleeping?"

"A bit" he answered and he shook his head. "Go for therapy, you will not hear, I think it's better you go back to London"

"Why do you all want me gone so badly"

"You were better when you got back but when you're dealing with all these cases. You sink into depression the more! I prefer the Osaze with the sound mind"

"I'm not crazy"

"Yet. How long till your sanity dies off. Do you know the importance of sleep to every individual and what happens when he or she doesn't get enough sleep? Years of sleeplessness! Dude it's not healthy"

Osaze exhaled, "I'll be fine, I've gone past that!" "It's a lie! You're only just living past it, pretending it doesn't exist when every night you get haunted by the thought of it"

"Raymond, it's okay!" He snapped then he hissed afterwards.

"That's not what's bothering me"

"What's bothering you! Your job? Girls are getting molested so easily these days. The rise of rape in 2020, I don't even know what the world is turning into"

"That's not it" he answered unconsciously then he realized it made him sound as though the incessant rise in rape was of not business to him. "That's part of it but.... Not entirely it." He added making his friend stared in wonder.

I'm looking for someone"

"Who?"

"A girl I entered into the same bus with"

"Was she raped?" He asked and Osaze gave him a stern look. Does everything have to revolve around rape?

"Sorry now, you sef don vex. I'll keep quiet and let you do he talking, what's up with this girl?" "Her name is Osas, remember when I had to travel to Benin to help that lady"

"The abortion case?"

"Exactly, she's the one. Coincedentally, she sat close to me in the bus and it's her first time in Lagos" "Oh... The village girl Kubi had been talking about. I thought you said she was a talkative? Why are you worried?"

"It's Lagos, she'll be prone to dangers"

"Kidnappers and ritualist everywhere!" Raymond agreed and Osaze felt uneasy, "That's not making me feel better" he confessed and Raymond laughed, "Sorry. She couldn't have come to Lagos without having a place to stay"

"On Saturday, she was found outside Reiner Hotel in towel with a luggage" "How did you find out?"

"It was on the news. I'm being judged by my conscience cause if I had gotten her number, I would have at least had an idea what's going on."

Raymond creased bis brow, "And this is what's making you all.... I don't mean to sound insensitive but come on, to have you thinking this way. What happened in that bus? Are you sure you didn't like develop feelings for her?"

Osaze frowned. "Not funny" "Sorry, just kidding. Well that will really awkward cause Kubi is so into the girl too but sha.... " He scratched his head, "I don't even know what to advise you. Just try to take it off your mind, you're already dealing with depression, don't add this one to it"

Osas and Ejiro walked into the club to resume their duties when Ochuko walked towards them, he had a toothpick in his mouth and Osas forced a smile being fully inducted about him. "Good evening" she greeted.

"I want see you for my office"

"Huh? Me?" Ejiro asked, "No. Osas" he answered and she shook her head. "Royal Highness, no, we agree"

"For my office, now" he requested leaving and Ejiro gave Osas a look, she knew what he was capable of. Manipulating till one gives into his crazy conditions.

"No go" Ejiro begged and Osas chuckled. "I already told you, he's a womanizer"

"I go fit handle am"

"If him try shit...."

"I go dey fine, no worry" she assured then she made her way into his office and found him with a cigarette in between his fingers.

Ochuko puffed out cigarette smoke into the air. "You just get your job, you no fit even pay homage to the king" he said and Osas looked around, "Wait oh. As how?"

"To me now, to pay homage to me"

"As how?" She asked and his free hand undid his belt. "You sabi blow?" He asked and Osas shut her eyes in digust.  "Blow wetin? I no even blow trumpet!"

"You know wetin I mean, no dey pretend"

"I no understand why I dey listen to this. You summon me come here as wetin?"

"The supervisor and the person way give your job"

"I no understand"

He moved closer to her, "Ejiro no tell you wetin she do for you to get the job?" He asked and she shook her head. "Na lie" she answered and he laughed inhaling in cigarette then he puffed it out on her face.

"No blow that thing for my face, I no like am. You fit smoke anything way you want, no ever blow that shit on top my face"

"You no get fear? I say na me by the Alpha and Omega for this place"

"I hear you the first time way you say am. I no like make people dey blow cigarette for my face, na small thing dey make me vex"

Ochuko scoffed, "Na me you de talk to like that?" He asked and she exhaled, "See, I no want wahala. Make I just go" she turned to leave and he held her by the arm.

"I never talk to you finish"

"Hmmmn, Royal Highness about wetin them call you. Leave my hand make I pass, na small thing dey make me vex" "You want get liver, e be like say you never ask around who I be for this town"

"I no care who you be. I just want go back to my job"

"Careful, or else, that job way you dey see now, you no no go get am again" "Is that a threat?"

"Take am however way you want but you fit apologize now, make we agree on top one matter" he ran his fingers across her face and she pushed them off.

"I need to get back to my job" she turned and he held her hands again,
"You na small fry, if you want carry this kain attitude for this place, you go burn for this Lagos"

Osas hissed leaving the office.

Ejiro exhaled on seeing her then she walked up to her, "Did anything happen?" "Wetin go wan happen before? Na true say you sleep with am to give me my job"

"That big mouth! He doesn't even act like a man! He wasn't supposed to say anything"

"Why you do that kain thing?"

"Twenty thousand naira, that was why I did it! For where you want see another job like this one? Even some graduates never collect reach 20 k before"

"You for no do am?"

"You for sleep with am

"I would have start looking for another job."

Ejiro folded her hands, "Is that the thank you I deserve?" She asked and Osas groaned. "Thank you" "You're welcome. So what did Ochuko want?"

"What else? Na wetin to chuuk prick put inside him dey find. Him no know say my Toto is covered with the blood of Jesus" she answered and they both busted into laughter.

"Him fit fire you oh"

"Make him do am, no be my business.  I no dey like men like that, if him wan carry shit come my side. I go treat him fuck up!"

Ochuko made way into Davina's office, he found her writing on a notebook. She raised her head, looking towards his direction. "Ochuko, I hope there's no problem?" "Nothing Ma, I just came to report one of the workers" he scratched his nose.

"She's rude, very very rude! I was talking to her and she walked out on me, just like that" "What's her name?"  She asked hoping her guess was wrong.

"One babe way them call Osas"

Davina paused throwing her face at the wall then she looked back at Ochuko. "I can't fire her" "Why?" "Mr Goriola fancies her and there was a little issue last night. I was going to give her last night but he took the blame. I'm sure he's going to come looking for her today. I won't want to look bad in the eyes of our prominent customer"

"Wetin dey inside the girl sef? Breast she no get! Fine she no fine"

Davina scoffed, it wasn't hard to tell the story, he was probably angry at her because she rejected him. She has always known Ochuko for being the kind that hates being told off by women.

"So you can't do anything"

"Do I need to repeat myself?" She asked and he shook his head walking out of the office and she rolled her eyes. "This Osas girl, she's something isn't she?"

August 12

Chika walked into Ejiro's house laughing, she had a flier in her hands. "What's funny?" "Is it not Iya Ramota's second daughter" "Rashida? What happened?"

"She got fired"

"And that's funny, why?" Osas asked and Chika laughed. "It's the way she was carrying her face and complaining. She said she didn't do anything and her boss fired her"

"Ehya"

"Don't say Ehya oh, she should be happy that the man was generous enough to give her her full salary! She's just shouting about how harsh the man is. If not that I'm picky about where I work, I would have just worked there for three days and then leave. Even if it's half of the salary, I'll be more than happy to collect!" She confessed and they all laughed.

"What's in your hands?" Ejiro asked and Chika passed it to Osas laughing. "There are opening in the company, if you're interested."
Osas scanned through all the positions, "I no get certificate" "There's a post for cleaning services, it will really fit you Osas" she teased laughing and Osas frowned at her.

"Ishi!"

"Maybe if you try wear wig for this your hair, them fit give you better position" she joked, "Upon the wig way you dey wear, you never still work for oil company" Osas snapped and Chika frowned.

"You take am personal?"

"Why I go take am personal?" She asked and Chika left then Ejiro busted into laughter while Osas stared at the flier.

"Osaze Benjamin Foundation" she called out then she recalled Osaze's name was Osaze Benjamin. Could it be..... She trailed off in thought.

"The guy way I meet for bus, his name is Osaze Benjamin, e possible say na him fit get this work place ?"

Ejiro chuckled, "The possiblity is slim. There are about a hundred or more Osaze Benjamin in the country. If you have doubts, check Facebook" "I no dey Facebook"

"I still don't understand why you're not on Facebook yet. You can get a small phone"

"Phone no dey my mind yet. My brothers first. I go put am for next month plan"

"Repairing that your phone won't take #500 naira."

Osas laughed, "I no want repair, I want new phone. The screen of the phone naim be my other inspiration to hustle" she replied and her phone rang.

"Hello" she said after answering the call. "Hey Osas, it's me Favour"  "Babe, how you dey?"

"I'm fine. Sorry I didn't call all this while, I've been feeling guilty" "How Joy? How Justice?"

"Same old. I didn't sleep last night"  Favor yawned, "How are you? Are you back in Benin? Mom has been awfully quiet"

"No. I still dey Lag, I'm still waiting for one month so I can meet the man's wife"

"That was why I got your number. She's back"

Osas blinked her eyes in shock, "How you take know?" "Call it one the pecks of being jobless. I was job hunting around that axis and I decided to stop by and ask. She's back, you should check her out"

A smile curled up Osas' lips, "Oh Favor, thank you so much. I appreciate it" "You're welcome, it's the least I can do. Save the number, it's mine"

"I no fit save am"

"Jesus!! Don't tell me you haven't repaired that phone" she asked and the tone of her voice made Osas laughed hard.

After waiting for about thirty minutes, Osas was finally allowed to see Iya Beji in the living room. "I heard you have been waiting for long now. No vex ehn" "I no vex"

"My husband been tell me everything already say you want know about erm.... The adoption agency way being dey here"

"Yes Ma'am"

"The agency done scatter tay tay" she snapped her fingers, making Osas feel like there was no hope. "I just.... I just want information, how I fit talk to anybody way being dey work for here before"

"Why you need am"

"I dey find my sisters them, my Aunty bring them come. She being de work for the agency. I wan from her see my brothers and sisters"

"I still get Lisa phone number. You fit call her to arrange meeting with her"

"Why you no give me her home address? My phone no good."

"Are she no come vex for me"

"Abeg"

"You sure say you go fit see wetin you dey find? What if them don distribute these children? What if one dey Kaduna and another one dey Abuja or what if say them don die?"

"God forbid!"

"I no want discourage you but I want make you open your mind for the worst! You get pen and paper make I write the address?"

"No Ma"

"Duro naa (wait), erm Ayomide!" She called out and Osas decided to chip in a question to while away time.  "You sabi anybody with the name  Uyi? Na my Aunty name"

"Uyi, Uyi, Uyi, Uyi...." She repeated in thought, "Rara oh (No), I no think say I remember that kain name. E get full name?"

Eniola folded her hands staring at Osaze angrily after he pulled over at her house.  She had insisted on sleeping over at his house but he declined. "Why do I have him feeling like you don't want to have sex with me?"  She asked and he exhaled.

"Not that i don't want that....."

"Then what is it? I don't understand anymore. I want you" she rubbed his cheeks and he rubbed his forehead. He didn't know where to start from, "Just give me time to fix myself first"

"Fix yourself? What's wrong with you?" She asked leaning in to kiss him then he held his hands against her thighs. "I can help you"

Osaze pulled away,  "I can't explain but you might have to give me time. Please" he begged and she rolled her eyes then she leaned against him taking two pictures.

She kissed him on the cheek now taking another picture. "What's that?" "For IG, I really love to flaunt my boyfriend on Instagram. It's really advisable to flaunt your boyfriends. It's kind of a way of telling other girls, back off, Osaze Benjamin is mine!"

"Goodnight" She kissed him on the lips before getting out of the car. She bit her lips thinking of a better caption for her post.

"Awwn. I look good in this one, I'm deleting this other one!"

The DJ played Who goes Der' and Tacha stood in front of Chike grinding her ass against him and he smiled with his arms wrapped across her waist.

Osas who didn't feel too well,  stormed up the stairs, she has been in a bad mood since she got back from Iya Beji's house. The journey seemed to injured every hope she had.  What if she never finds her siblings and has been avoiding talking to people.

She had tears in her eyes and she needed to pour it out. She walked by Ochuko and he called her back. "Wetin I do again?"

He brought one of his cigarettes from it's pack then he put it between his lips, he got out a purple lighter, lit the cigarette and inhaled deeply and then blew the smoke back out. "Make we talk"

"You for talk since, which one be the action? I no get time waste"

"Make we talk" he requested again now dipping the lighter back into his pocket.

"Ochuko"

"No call me that name"

"Okay, our Royal Highness, I wan go toilet now. Just allow me go" she begged still withholding her tears,  and he held her by the arm.

"Ochuko, e be like say you don high small this evening" she snapped and he inhaled a and now blowing it on her face.  "How many times I don warn you make you no try that shit"  she asked and his free hands pinned her against the wall. "Wetin be your own self, person to dey try get your audience, you go dey do shakara"

"Ochuko, leave me now! Now way I dey try dey nice, leave me"

"I don't tell you say you na small fry, you go burn for this Lagos"

"You don dey sing that chorus since I enter, e never reach time to change am?" She snapped and he pressed her neck to the wall while Osas grabbed him by the balls.

"Ochuko!" One of the male bartenders exclaimed on seeing him strangle Osas, apparently he didn't see the direction Osas' palms went.

Ochuko looked down as at his crotch and She scoffed, "Try shit and I swear I go do something way your generation go live to regret and even your generation no go fit testify cause them no go exist. Try am!" She snapped breathing fast both gazing into each other's eyes with hatred.

"How dare you lay your hands on a women Ochuko?" Madam Davina snapped and Ochuko pulled away slightly and Osas pushed him away. "Na me you push like that?"

"Wetin you go do?" Osas tightened her fist, "Because Madam dey here, you don get morale shey?"

Osas laughed, "Na your prick being de on the line, e be like say you don't forget abi make I remind you?" She spat and Madam Davina scoffed.

"What happened?"

"Madam Davina, I told you already now! This babe is too insultive! I go dey talk, you go dey walk away"

"Why I no go run? When your mouth dey smell?" She snapped,  "Next time you blow that shit for my face again ehn! I go show you madness"

"See as you be! Yansh you no get"

"Yansh I no get?  No be the same yansh you want? Mumu like you!"

"For this Lagos?"

"Wetin happen for this Lagos? Wetin you fit do? You just be like dog way dey barks, teeth you no get! Oga you no fit do nothing! Nothing was you fit do!"

"Small breast,"

"Like your Mama breast!"

"I'm right in your presence and you two dare to disrespect me!" Madam Davina busted into Bini dialect and Osas turned to her in shock. She thought she was an Ibo woman judging from the fact her son's name was Chike.

"You two are off duty. Get out and never come back till you've resolved your issue"

"Madam Dee"

"You two get the hell out of my club till you're sane! You both obviously insane!" She snapped now looking at the bar tender who was still staring, "What are you looking at?" She asked and he ran down the stairs.
Madam Davina walked away leaving the both of them together.

"See wetin you cause?" He asked tightening his fist and Osas moved closer to him, "I dare you Ochuko, I dare you!" She snapped busting into tears, "You get liver blame me when you're the one at fault! All you've been doing since I got this job is frustrate me, all I just want na to survive for Lagos. You think say na asewo carry me come Lagos, if I want join asewo, i for done go Italy since 2010!" She continued walking away.

Goriola walked towards Derik who was at the counter then he looked around the club. "I haven't seen Osas around. Where's she?" "She has been fired" he answered and Goriola scoffed. He didn't understand why Davina fired her still.

"Why?"

"Something happened tonight, I can't go into details"

Goriola scoffed, "Is there a way I can get her address?" He asked removing some money from his pocket then he pushed it tapping his thumb on it. "All I need is an address to where she lives"  "Osas is a nice girl"

"Please save the sermon. Are you going to do it or not?"

Ejiro and Osas slept in bed with a bed sheet over them, both staring at the ceiling. "I just wish say I see as everything take happen. When Fatai being dey gist me, I almost no believe. Mehn you have liver oh" Ejiro praised Osas before the went to bed and she chuckled softly.

"I can't believe you lost the job though, I'll try to talk to Madam Davina"

"Ochuko is a mad person; the madness is seasonal, I suspect his village people are chasing him" she joked and Osas chuckled a bit. "Are you not from the same village?"

"Yes but... He's crazy. I notice you've been withdrawn since we got back. What happened? Does it have anything to do with you meeting that Iya Beji?"

Osas nodded her head then she busted into tears. "What did she say?" "She give me one address and she also says somethings. What if my siblings are dead? Maybe I should begin to expect the worst."

The following day

6:47 am

Tacha woke up close to Chike with a smile on her face. "Morning Babe" he greeted and she smiled. "Hey" she leaned her head against his chest. "Last night was beautiful" she confessed and he smiled.

"I wish I can just remain here! I'm happy and at peace, that's something I don't get everytime"

Chike kissed her on the nose, "You can always come any time you want. If I'm not at the studio or the club, I'm usually here" "Sounds tempting" she confessed and her phone rang.

Her heart skipped on seeing the caller ID.  "Shit! It's Mom" she sat up. "I'm not picking up. I have to go" "I hope you won't get into trouble"

"I'm fine, I'll think of an excuse definitely" she replied kissing him on the lips.

8:30 am

Osas knocked on a door and Lisa opened up. "Um.... You're not the person I was expecting sha. Who are you looking for?" "One Lisa?"

Lisa rolled her eyes, "Are you one here to drop one of the children" "What children?" "The ones I'm doing coaching lesson for? Which other children again. Oya show me your ID or pass and where's the child"

"I'm not here for that"

"What are you here for then?"

"My name Na Osarieme, or Osas, I just wan talk to you"

"About what?"

"My aunty Uyi" "Uyi?" She asked then she scoffed, "I haven't heard that name in a very very long time. How did you find me?"

"It's Beji, bet Naija shop"

"Oh. Come in" she replied walking in and Osas followed her in then she shut the door now looking around the sitting room that has been turned into a classroom with two sets of black board in it.

There were five children in the living room. "Aunty good morning" "Good morning" Osas answered.  "Children, give me a minute, do your assignments while i talk to this Aunty" Lisa said to the children then she returned her gaze back to Osas now stretching her hands at the two seater chair and she sat down then she joined her afterwards.

"How do you know Uyi?"

"She's my Aunty, like my Mama sister"

"Oh Ese?"

Osas smiled, "How you take know her name?" "Well.... Uyi used to talk to about her. It was basically the only thing I heard, it was always her point of excuse whenever she needed time off to Benin"

"You know say she carry my sisters and brothers come twenty five years ago?" She asked and Lisa nodded, "Yeah"

Osas exhaled, "Thank God! Where I fit find them?" She asked and Lisa exhaled, "I... They were all adopted" "What?" "Your mother gave them out to be sold"

Her countenance changed, hearing it from Lisa's lips confirmed the rumours.  Tears poured down her eyes, "No be the adoption agency them do the thing. At least record supposed dey"

Lisa scoffed, "It wasn't exactly a legal adoption" "How you mean?" "Your Aunty Uyi, she.... She had already left the agency when she brought the deal to your mother. She found people that were willing to pay so much to have children"

"Where she dey?"

"I......" She hesitated, "I don't know, I have no idea" "You sure?" "Yes. What reason will I have to lie to you?"

"At least if I fit know where she dey, I fit reach her"

"It was a close adoption"

"As in?"

"She can't have any contact with the children neither can the children go close to her or know her. She handled as an entity  herself, so even if you find her, I doubt if that bitch will agree" she blurted out in rage then she exhaled on realizing she had said too much.

She turned towards the children then she hissed now facing Osas. "Sorry but... Your aunt and I used to be best friends but a lot happened in the past and now I don't ever want to see her in my entire life. You get?"

"So I no fit....." Osas paused, "Ever see my siblings again?" "Except by some miracle, sure. When did you get to Lagos?"

"Three weeks ago"

"Is that the only reason why you're here?"

Osas nodded, "And to find my Papa too, but If my sister own for dey impossible, he much more my Papa" she sobbed and the children turned pitiful gaze at her.

The moment Osas left the house, Mathias got out clad in a brown polo and shorts. Grey hair, on some corners of his hair. Lisa turned back at him, "I supposed you were listening to us"

"I only saw the lady crying. Who is she?"

"Uyi's niece"

"Osas?" He asked, "Yeah... That's her name"

Mathias smiled, "She's already grown up. The last time I saw she was very very small. How did she get here?"

"The old building"

"What does she want?"

"She came all the way to Lagos to find Uyi and then find her siblings. Poor child.  I told her the truth, that I have no idea where she is"

Mathias scoffed, "That's not the truth" "Would you prefer I tell her I know where she is? Please, let me save her so heart ache!" She waved her hands.

"It's a lost cause. I just pity her, we both know Uyi won't want to see her and she won't find her sisters easily"
