Chapter 19 ~ Salvation {III}
"Is that why you set them up together?!" Tamara exclaimed at Hunter while he sipped the hot chocolate while snuggling under his blanket, the cloth forming the outline of his cute perky wolf ears. (You can imagine how cute he looks)
Hunter frowned, irritated at all the questions.
"Answer me!"
"Oh, come on! I just wanted to test out whether he's a protector or not and this shit happens! Hayden blows my cover!"
Tamara plopped on the armchair across his bed and crosses her arms, anxiously tapping her leg on the wooden floor.
"We clearly asked him to remain in hiding but how did he go back to the asylum again?"
Hunter frowned.
"Oh, that is a little weird though. We completely destroyed the asylum,"
"Exactly. Tia is confused about it too,"
"You know what? I'll talk to Hayden about it. You should ask Tia to figure it out with Hoseok,"
"What? No! I can't convince her now,"
"Why?" Hunter squinted, trying to keep himself awake from all the crap he's been through.
"Because she's too guilty to talk to him!"

Calice took a seat on the couch, zoned out about something. After the incident in the woods, she found out about something peculiar and familiar. She knew what it was but couldn't quite remember what it was.
"Come on, you can tell me what occupies your thoughts," Chris said as he hopped out of the bathroom after a shower, his upper body bare and his lower body occupied by black tracks.
"Not like you didn't read them already just now,"
"Believe me, I didn't,"
"How am I supposed to believe that?"
"Because I was busy thinking about you in the shower with me, counting lilies,"
Calice slightly blushed, flustered at how Chris had gotten a little too smooth over those 500 years.
"Alright, I was thinking about the auras of those Geminus,"
"And?" Chris patted the handtowel around his neck, getting the muscles to relax and dry.
"It is as if a very deviant aura has latched onto theirs,"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean that this deviant is siphoning all their energy out,"
"Then how are they able to use their powers?"
"That's what a deviant aura does. It siphons all the pure energy and replaces it with the dark, evil one,"
"How do we get rid of that?"
"We rid the world of the one to whom that aura belongs,"
"And only Shamans are capable of doing that,"
"No,"
"Then?"
"Only witches are capable of doing that,"
"What? I thought witches didn't exist at all?"
"They did. They just blended in with the shamans,"
"And the only witch who can place her deviant aura on the others is her,"
Chris frowned for 2 seconds until he widened his eyes upon realising who it really was.
"No,"
"Yes,"
"We can't possibly fight her! She'll curse us!"
"Relax Chris, I'm well aware,"
"Wait, don't tell me you have a plan for her ready already,"
"I did,"
Calice took the stand and walked to the balcony while staring out onto the moon.
"Julia's dark self is immune to curses from anyone. If she comes across that witch, she can easily kill her but there's a twist,"
"And what might that be?" Chris took a seat on the foot of the bed, relaxing his palms on the mattress.
"She might have to kill that witch more than once, due to the overlapping of multiple protection spells,"
Chris nodded.
"What's the real story of this witch anyways, other than how she was banished from her coven for using dark magic,"
"It wasn't wrong. She did use dark magic, but not for the better, to consume auras that belonged to protectors,"
She turned around to look at Chris.
"I met her 600 years ago,"
Calice turned back to her human form as she finished massacring another village of those witches.
"Uh! That was a great feast," She huffed as she threw her head back, the corners of her mouth dripping with blood.
"I'm glad you're done. It's my turn now,"
"She suddenly approached me from the woods, her hands blazing with deviant energy, ready to curse me,"
The girl with the white hair enlightened her figure as she got ready to attack Calice.
"If it isn't the cursed witch of Versailles," Calice smirked, bracing herself.
"And if it isn't another protector aura I wish to consume,"
"I don't think you'll be able to do that. My aura is too strong for you,"
The witch giggled, not even a hint of changes in her sadistic smile.
"I don't think so,"
Calice frowned.
She opened her robe from her right side, revealing coloured gems hanging from her belt.
"Do not tell me those are-,"
"Alright, I won't,"
The witch grinned as her eyes glowed white and she used her other hand to increase the intensity of her essence and attacked her. A huge flash took place before Calice as the ground surrounding her blasted off into rocks and pebbles.
"What a smart little dog, didn't even move,"
The witch neared the smoke and took out a transparent stone to take her aura in. She raised her palm towards the aura and curled her fingers slightly but before she could take a bite of that aura, she suddenly felt fingers wrap around her heart, squeezing it close to exploding.
"Augh!"
Her heart burst as she vomited blood all over. Her body plopped on the ground, lifeless, staring at the sky.
"Serves you right,"
Present day
"And then I walked away, unaware of her body being overlapped in protection spells,"
"She tried to consume your aura as well?" Chris asked.
"She could be after the Geminus,"
"We'll figure something out," She turned around and prepared to sleep.
"Oh, by the way, I needed to talk about something,"
"Sure, go ahead,"
Chris got up and went onto the bed she was lying on. She turned over to face him, the top of her arm resting on the large pillow.
"So even you know, that the male twins suddenly switched their natural roles with each other,"
"What about it?"
"If their behaviour can prove the opposite of what nature does then what makes you think my feelings are led on by the moon and not you?"
(Play audio here: Daylight - David Kushner)
"They're family, it's different,"
"No, that's not the difference I'm talking about,"
"Elaborate,"
"There is a difference between fate and love,"
Chris turned back over on his back, looking at the mirror on the ceiling.
"Just think about it. Many wolves defy their fate and mate with the ones they fell in love with rather than those who are fated to them,"
Calice frowned, partly agreeing with it.
"Can I pull a sensitive topic? If that isn't a problem with you?"
"Alright,"
"Take your mother's example. She also fell in love with the hybrid before she was fated,"
"And?"
"She mated with him even after the moon sealed her fate,"
Calice looked at him with a tint of concern and agreement. She sat up followed by Chris.
"I finally understand," She looked into the empty space before she glanced back at Chris slowly.
"Here's the truth to why I treated you like that though,"
She turned towards him, crossing her legs.
"I thought fate was making you fall for me and that you had eyes for Tia,"
She took his hand and clutched it hard into her little palms as tears began falling from her eyes.
"Hey, hey, hey Lily,"
Chris slipped a few strands of her hazel hair behind her ear with his other hand, comforting her.
"I don't even need to understand or forgive you here,"
Calice looked at him, confused.
"Because no matter what you do, I always find myself treasuring you more,"
"Even if it hurts you?"
He chuckled as his tears trickled down his cheeks.
"Yeah,"
Calice smiled and led her hand to his cheekbone, wiping off his tears.
Chris paused as he looked at her lips and leaned in, his smile fading along with hers until their lips met in a union undescribable by the cupid himself. Calice's grimace intensified as she felt the cynical feeling lift off her heavy heart. Her hand slithered to his cheek, her thumb in front of his ear, while four of her fingers hold the part behind it.
He accepted her tongue as he snaked his palms to the back of her waist and pulled her onto his lap, making her feel his clothed girth. One of his hands travelled to the top of her rib-neck tank top, reaching for her zip before pulling it down.
She leaned down towards his neck, pecking his tattoo restlessly. She felt him peel her top off her skin, exposing her shoulder.
"Uhh," She moaned as he attacked her neck hungrily, a few flicks of her hair covering her eye.
He pulled her top up before she raised her arms, taking it off and tossing it aside. His eyes glistened with hunger looking at her cross-sleeved bra and the anchor tattoo at the centre of the chest. He held her close as he swayed her down onto the mattress, placing her back on it, and looking deep into her eyes. He led his lips to her forehead, pecking her there. He stayed that way for a few seconds there, looking into her eyes.
"I love you, Chris. So much,"
He attacked her lips as he tasted her mouth before dragging them down, to her anchor, then to the centre of her chest and unclipped her bra, making her remove it. He then went on to the Lily tattoo on her waist and unbuttoned her pants. He sat up and pulled them off without much effort, gently stroking the outside of her thigh and going back to the tattoo on her waist.
"Mmh!" She hummed as she arched her back.
He looked at her pleasured figure and smirked as he bit the thin material of her underwear and pulled it off.
"Uh! Chris!"
"Hush, my Lily,"
She looked at him, knowing nothing could prepare her for what was about to come next,"
"Tonight, salvation is ours,"
