Chapter 18 ~ Salvation {II}

"So, you mean to say that the shaman has another purpose for capturing the hybrid?" Tamara asked as she sat on the wooden bridge by Hayden in front of the lake.

"Yeah, and I had a reason for blowing Hunter's cover,"

Tamara frowned.

"It's a long story but I'll tell all of you at once. I don't want to overweigh your shoulders Tam-Tam,"

"I understand but at least tell me why?"

"Let's just say, I am doing what I was made to do,"

"And what might that be?"

"I'm protecting you. All of you,"

Australia, 1958

"Let's hope this plan of yours works,"

"No, let's believe it will, Hayd," Tamara said as Hayden chewed on the last of his ration.

"Let's shower 'em,"

Their auras began expanding all at once and slowly flashed into a blinding light.

"What's happening?"

The hall turned white for a split second as the aura leaked out of the windows, everyone exclaiming at the element of surprise. The host flickered his eyes open and looked back, just to see a copper puddle dribbling on the floor along with rusted alloy. He realized it was the metal from the cage and the chains.

"The wolves! They're gone!"

The chandelier lights suddenly flickered as whispers and voices reverberated through the hall.

"Looking for me?"

The doctor suddenly felt his throat being grabbed from behind, his body being pushed towards the floor. His knees slammed on the floor as he heard a shingling sound surrounding his neck. They were claws, ready to slit his throat if he moved.

"Now now, I wouldn't want you to die so easily,"

He looked up, a pair of boots he had never seen occupied his vision. His gaze followed upwards, to the black stockings, reaching something like a suit with a blue and black cape, with white hair occupied with blue streaks and glowing blue eyes, the same attire covering Tia's body, looking like part-armour.

(Note: Tamara's attire is royal blue and looks exactly like this, because of their Gemini replicas.)

"How did y-you-,"

"Set free?" A playful smile caged Hayden's lips as he finished Dr Max's statement, his arm still occupying his throat.

"I'm afraid your research about the protectors is incomplete," Hunter said.

The feeble human frowned as if requesting an answer.

"Tonight is Pacio, the night we reach our full potential," Tia took a seat before overlapping her leg over the other and sipping the champagne.

"Which means tonight is perfect for us to make a run for it," Hayden let go of his neck, shoving him further away.

"What? Too stunned to see the protector crests?"

Hayden's crest

Hunter's crest

Fear consumed the human as he tried to stumble away and grabbed a knife to attack them.

"Oh, I would definitely do that if I were you,"

He stopped and dropped the knife, confused as to why they weren't attacking him.

"Doc, we have the whole night to play fetch like little pups but that's the point," Tia neared him and grabbed his throat.

"We're not pups,"

The human's eyes closed as Tia put him into a slumber of nightmares, replacing him with themselves within all the torture he put them through. They could feel him screaming as they pulled out his organs in his nightmares and experiment on him.

While his slumber took over, they began slaughtering everyone in the hall as the people screamed and began to make a run for the doors. Hunter stood at the center as he raised his palm to the doors, slamming them and locking them as he smirked. The outside of the hall was occupied with deafening silence as the inside shattered itself into all that silent noise, like a soap opera.

That night, blood formed an inner whirlpool, a slaughter uncovering inside the hall of screams. The moon wasn't smeared with revenge, instead, it was smeared with delight that her pups were strong and fearless at this point. They knew their fates were going to be sealed tonight but they had no other choice. That was the only way they could set themselves free.

"Even if he does try and neutralize us, it'll only overpower us more,"

"And why is that?"

"Because reaching our full potential will complete our moons, which means-,"

"-we'll be immune to it all as our fates get sealed,"

"It's happening!" Hunter exclaimed as he threw his head back, looking at the moon and felt the flow of power in his veins growing faster as his ears grew on the top of his head along with the others and the moon ink occupying their arms, signifying they were going to be fated with another protector each as they continued taking lives, licking blood off their teeth, twisting them all until their screams died down.

Tamara smiled in delight as she ripped a woman's heart out, blood spattering across her nose and cheekbones, her fangs sharpening at the sensation. She looked at Tia, devouring a man, her jaw clutching his neck before she pulled away harshly, looking up at the moonlight and closing her eyes upon feeling her hunger lying back into slumber. She dropped his body down, his head rolling away from his body and dived onto the ground from the top floor, joining Hunter, who was playing fetch on another level. Hayden dived to the lowest floor as well along with Tamara as they cleared out the remaining floors.

"They'll find the corpses in the morning," Tamara said as she stroked the blood off her upper lip with the pad of her thumb and took a suck at it before running her tongue over her lips.

"Let's make a run for it," Hayden said as he attained his full wolf form, a crescent moon shining on his forehead, neon purple in color.

He made his way out with Tia while the two remaining wolves arranged the bodies on the floor into a heap and put up a mark of the specimen on the top of the heap. Only god knew which body the wooden stake went through while planting it.

They smirked at each other before walking out the huge doors closing behind them.

"The best night of my life remains,"

"That night, something weird happened," Tia continued fixing the fire as Tamara made herself warm on the couch.

Tamara frowned as she looked at Tia.

"What?"

"I thought I was getting fated to a protector,"

"Wait, don't tell me your fate didn't get sealed,"

"It did,"

Tamara was even more curious to know what her sister meant at this point.

"The moon sealed my fate with a descendant,"

"What?! How is that possible? And who is this descendant?"

"Hoseok,"
