PAAYA HAI MAINE FIR TUJHE!  CHAPTER 9

Recap : Ansh’s birthday

The door opened with a crack sound taking everyone’s attention. RagAnsh looked towards the door with hope in their eyes, their hands entangled with each other. Everyone else too looked on.

A man entered the house with luggage. Ragini moved towards him. There was fear and anxiety written on her face. She knew it was sanskaar’s luggage.

Ragini : excuse me? Where’s......?

Man : sir asked me to drop the luggage here. He left in the middle only.

Ragini stumbled hearing this. Laksh too did the same. He had asked the driver to drop off the luggage and got off the cab. His luggage came but he never. She covered her mouth to suppress her sob. Dp held her from behind. She looked at him and hugged him tightly. Dev took Ansh in his arms.

Ragini ; Papa...  Sanskaar.

Dp : Have faith beta... he’ll come...

Dev asks Ram to call Sanskaar. Ram tries his number which is now switched off. Everyone panics. Ansh sobs in Dev’s arms. He tried his best to calm him down, but fails. The guests looks on. Ragini composes herself and moves inside towards Ansh. She takes Ansh from Dev’s arms and wipes his face.

Ragini : Anshu.. cut the cake. Your friends are waiting. Common.

Everyone looks on. They were worried for her. Dp and Ram kept trying Sanskaar’s number. Ansh cried looking at his mom. She nodded at him. Ansh takes the knife in his hand, Ragini holds his hand and they are about to cut the cake but a loud voice stops them. They look towards the gate.


“Are you going to cut the cake without me?”


Everyone sighs in relief as they see Sanskaar standing at the door of the house with a huge chocolate bouquet and a bag of gifts in the other hand. His face had a huge grin. Ansh saw his papa and ran towards him leaving all behind. Sanskaar smiled looking at his son. He kept the bag and bouquet on the table and came on his knees to catch him. Ansh crashed into his chest, with happy tears in his eyes. Sanskaar, protectively took him in his embrace. He kissed on his head and wished him.

Ragini looked at the duo with teary eyes. Dev side hugged her. She thanked the God for bringing back Sanskaar. She sobbed in Dev’s embrace. He looked on happily as he consoled Ragini. She never knew she would feel two opposite things at the same time. Happiness to see him back and anger for his prank of being late. Everyone smiled looking at Sanskaar.

Ansh ( breaking the hug ) : I’m very angry on you Papa.

He pouted. Sanskaar looked at him, sheepishly. He picked up in his arms and came towards the cake table. He took blessings from everyone.

Sanskaar : champ. You can pour all your anger on me later.. but first let’s cut the cake. I’m very hungry. Please.

Sanskaar knew he was very late. Family’s questions, he could answer later but firstly the party needs to be continued as the guests were waiting and getting late. Ansh looked at his pouty face and nodded. Ragini too wiped her tears and stood beside Ansh. Sanskaar looked at her but she passed an angry glare at him. He slightly sticks his tongue out and brushed his hair.

Ansh made a wish, blew the candles and cut the cake with his parents by his side. Everyone clapped and sang the birthday song. Ragini fed the cake to Ansh and so did all the family members. Sanskaar forwarded a piece to Ragini, she opens her mouth but he eats the piece himself. Ragini’s lips form a big “o”. Sanskaar chuckles.

Ragini cuts the cake in pieces and distributes among kids and guests. Ap, Sujata, Shomi and Sona helps Ragini. Sanskaar sits down with Ansh in his lap. He gives him the bouquet and the gifts.

Sanskaar : Champ, i brought everything you wanted. Happy Birthday!

He kissed him on the cheek.

Ansh : Papa, you were the only gift I wanted.
He hugged Sanskaar. He kept his hand on Ansh’s head.

Sanskaar ; don’t worry champ. I’ll always be with you!

They eat the snacks and cake.

All the guests have left. The party is over. Sujata pulled Ragini and made her sit on the couch beside Sanskaar. Everyone else was also seated there.

Sujata ; ginni. Now sit silently and eat something. You haven’t eaten anything.

Sanskaar ; haw.. ginni. Have you kept any fast or what? Why haven’t you eaten anything?

Everyone smiles seeing sanskaar’s concern.

Ragini too blushes but composes herself. She makes a straight face, ignoring him.

Ragini : Dad ( Ram ), tell your son.. no need to talk to me...

Sanskaar :: now what I did?/

He asked cutely. Ansh giggles.

Ragini : dad, ask him? why he did that prank? Why he came late/?

Sanskaar : giini, i went to collect chocolate bouquet for champ that’s why i sent the driver before. It was not any prank, ginni. I had asked the shopkeeper to send it before only but he forgot so I went myself....

He said keeping his hand on her shoulder. But she jerked his hand away. he pouts.

Sujata : but she’s right beta. You should have come here first..

Ram : your phone was also off.

Sanskaar  because it died, dad...

Ragini glares at him angrily.

Sankssar : i mean the phone got discharged.. and i’m sorry na... common ginni....

She still makes an angry pout while he tries to woo her. Everyone smiles. Unaware of the fact that Ragini was in love with him, he was making all possible things to make her smile at him. Whereas she was enjoying his attention, like husband to wife attention. Dev signed Ansh to keep quiet as he was going to blurt out the truth.

Shomi : ginni.. enough now. He’s right beside you.. fight with  him later. First have something.

She forwards the plate with cake to her. Ragini looks at cake and wets her lips with her tongue. Sanskaar drools over her. He eyes her lovingly. Sujata brings the dinner for her. Ragini cuts the cake and eats it. Sanskaar too takes the remaining piece and eats it. they both eat together. Everyone smiles looking at them.

Ragini has come outside to see off AP-DP. Shekhar and family had already left. They were really happy for Ragini.

Dp : ginni.. now you have realised your feelings... talk to sanskaar and start your new life.
Ragini hugs him, blushing. Ap caresses her face.

Ap : yes beta. Its high time now that you start your life again. Sanskaar also deserves your love.

Ragini blushes hearing this. They bless her and leave from there. She walks inside the house smiling. Ansh had already fallen asleep on the couch. Ram and Sujata had retired to their room. Ragini picks up Ansh and takes him to the room. She wanted this night alone with Sanskaar but well......

She comes to the room with Ansh in her arms. She finds Sanskaar already sleeping like a baby on his side of the bed. He was so tired after the long journey and then the party. She smiled and made Ansh lie beside him. She then got him changed in night clothes. She kissed both of them on their foreheads and slept on her side after changing. She was holding sanskaar’s hand. She felt different as this was the first time SHE kissed him on his forehead. Her cheeks turn red thinking about this. She smiles profusely.

The morning rays reached Sanskar’s face making him move in the sleep. He opened his eyes and saw his beautiful wife lying just beside him. A beautiful smile crept over his face. Ansh was not there. He tried to get up but was pulled back because Ragini was still holding his hand. He looked at her amused. He closely looked at their entangled hands. It was her who was holding his hand. His heart fluttered. But his heart skipped a beat when he saw the ring on her finger he had gifted her but which she never wore. Maybe she just wore for the function, who knows. He kept his imagination on the side.

He looked at her face. There was calmness on her face instead of worry lines, which he often saw on her forehead. He didn’t understood what was going on with her. Yesterday also she behaved differently around him. it was very unusual of her to be blushing around him and showing him attitude. But yesterday he was too tired to think about any of that but today, he can’t let go off the signs still he didn’t wanted to hope for anything.

He caressed her hand with the hand she was holding. He looked at her lovingly until she opened her eyes, feeling him. she smiled looking at him. His whole weight was on his elbow.

Ragini : good morning, Sanskyy...

Sanskaar : good morning, Ginni...

She got up from the bed but stopped as she realized that her hand was still in his and this time he was holding it tightly. She bit her tongue but didn’t turned towards him. She was standing, he came behind her standing on his knees on bed.

Sanskaar : Ginni, is there something I should know?

His hot breath touched her neck, giving her chills. She closed her eyes, her breath stuck in her throat. Sanskaar lifted her hand up. She looked at the ring and then looked down. Sanskaar slowly moved forward, now his front and her back were touching.

Sanskaar : Ginni...

Ragini : sanskkyyy... i think.. I... You..

Sanskaar : yes ginni.. say it...

He was getting desperate. He inhaled the fragrance of her hair.

Ragini : i.. I think, Sanskyy.. that you and I should brush our teeth...

Saying so, she ran inside the washroom leaving Sanskaar shocked and sad. He pouted. Ansh came there running and got on his back.

Ansh : papa.....

Sanskaar : hey champ. Where did you went?

Ansh  : huh.. it means you forgot papa.. today I’m going for camp na...

Sanskaar : oh yes. Of course champ I remember. Have you packed everything?

Ansh : yes. You and Mumma were sleeping so Dadu- Dadi helped me.

Sanskaar : okay great! Come lets go down... we’ll drop you at school...

Ansh : offo Papa... first go and brush your teeth.. mumma told you na...

Sanskaar sighs and pulls Ansh’s cheeks. He laughs and runs out from there.

Sanskaar : mumma ka chamcha.....

He chuckles and knocks on the door and calls her out. She comes after 5 minutes, bathed. Sanskaar stared at her with a twinkle in his eyes. Ragini blushed seeing him and went from there. Snaskaar brushed his hair.

“ was she really blushing or was it again my imagination? She seems different? Whats wrong??”

He goes inside thinking about her!

Sanskaar came back from work in the evening. He was tired so slouched on the couch and called out for his mom. But to his surprise Ragini showed with a glass of cool lemonade. He noticed the watch on her wrist and the ring on her finger, which he had gifted but never wore. He was confused but his heart was beating fast. Was his wait finally over? Or not?

Sanskaar : where are mom and dad?

Ragin i : voh.. Savita Masi is not well so mom had gone to her house for two days and dad has gone to Bangalore for some business meeting.

Sanskaar : oh i see.....

He drank the lemonade and stood up next to her. She smiled and looked into his eyes for the first time, as a wife! There was a different kind of glow on her face. He could see her real smile which reached her eyes. He lifted his hand to reach her face when the door bell rang, breaking their trance.

The episode ends with RagSan looking at the door..............................
