5|Addison
CHAPTER 5
Hey are you busy? –Chase
"You're always on your phone get off it." I rolled my eyes at Isabella's comment.I wasn't always on my phone and whenever I was, I was talking to Chase.
Her car broke down so I was her ride for the morning which explained why she was in my room. I sighed at the text that Chase had sent. I didn't really want to cry but I could feel the tears forming in my eyes. "Hey," she said quietly as she got up from my bed and stood up in front of me.
"Don't say anything," I whispered and she sighed but nodded her head.
She just wrapped her arms around me and I sighed as I returned the embrace.
When we pulled away, I wiped my tears away and typed out a reply to Chase.
Yeah, I am busy right now but I will call you soon. I love you. –Addie.
Okay, I love you too. –Chase
His reply came very quickly unlike mine. I just couldn't help but feel that I was sort of neglecting him. I didn't want to make excuses but I really didn't even have time. All the unpacking and adjusting to life here in San Francisco was getting hard.
I slipped my phone into my back pocket and looked at Isabella who wanted to know what was wrong with me.
"Sorry," I said quietly and she scoffed, rolling her eyes.
"You don't need to apologise," she replied and I sighed loudly. "I get what it's like to miss someone." I didn't want to push her to talk because she clearly wasn't doing that to me. "Is it your boyfriend?" She asked quietly.
"Yeah."
"Is the long distance thing hard?" I sighed as I nodded my head.
"It's way too freaking hard. I barely have time to talk to him as it is." She gave me a small smile and patted my shoulder.
"It'll get easier, don't give up on him." I would be lying if I said that thought didn't come up because it did, but a two year relationship wasn't something I could easily throw away.
"I never had you down as someone who gave advice," I mocked and she rolled her eyes at me.
"And the heartless Addison I know is back." I rolled my eyes at her and folded my arms across my chest.
"Shut up, I'm not heartless."
"A few minutes ago I could vouch for that but now? I don't think I can." I rolled my eyes at her because she could really be annoying sometimes.
"Let's just go Isabella," I sneered and she rolled her eyes at me but followed me down the stairs.
We walked into the kitchen and Greyson looked at us. "Hi Ella," he said and she smiled at him. They were already getting along like a house on fire.
I knew my mother went to work early but I didn't know where my dad was. "Where's dad?"
"He also went to work."
"Where's Adrianna?" I questioned.
"In her room," he answered while texting and I nodded my head. If she wasn't here then I would have made him leave the house but seen as he wasn't alone, I wasn't going to overreact.
"Okay, come on Isabella," I said and she groaned before following me. I turned to look at Greyson and said "make sure you get to school on time, I don't want mom and dad on my case." He rolled his eyes as he mocked me and I ignored him, walking out of the house.
When we got to school, Isabella walked to her locker and I stood next to her. "Hey," Luciana said as she joined us and we both returned the greeting.
In the mornings, I learned that this was where Luciana and Isabella met up. "What happened to your car?" She asked, looking at Isabella. "I didn't see it in its usual spot."
"It wouldn't start, I need to get it fixed," she answered.
"You could have caught a ride with me you know," Luciana said in an obvious tone.
"I know but I didn't want to bother you so I decided to bother Addison and it was a little test to see if she was a true friend or not." They both laughed and I scoffed, feeling very offended at the pair of them.
"Oh so then what would you say?" I mocked, looking at them.
"I'm not sure yet, I would say I need more time to come up with my answer." Isabella was so annoying and I seriously questioned why I even put up with her sometimes. But then her and Luciana were my best option so I had to stick with them.
"You're hilarious," I sarcastically said and she gave me an innocent smile.
"I'm glad we agree on something there," she said and I decided not to even say anything.
I closed my locker and watched as a boy approached them. "Hey Isabella," he said and Luciana glared at him.
"Get lost," Luciana snapped.
"I'm not even talking to you," he replied and Isabella clenched her jaw as she turned around to look at him.
"Don't talk to her like that," she snapped.
"I'm sorry," he replied and I just watched the interaction between them. It was obvious that neither of them liked him. "Can we talk?"
"No," Isabella replied instantly and he sighed. "I do not want to talk to you, not now, not ever now please get the hell out of my face because I am sick and tired of seeing your face."
He was about to say something but Luciana stood in front of him and he sighed before walking away.
The bell rang for our first class and Luciana gave Isabella a hug and whispered something in her ear before walking away. It was times like that that you saw just how close they were.
Isabella and I had the same class so I said "shall we go?" I waited for her response and she nodded her head but still looked upset. I had no idea who the boy was but it didn't take a genius to figure out that he was the one who upset her. I draped my arm over her shoulder and she gave me a weird look."What?" I asked as we walked down the hall as people stared at us.
"Nothing."
"You cheered me up this morning and I want to do the same thing," I replied and she gave me a small smile, draping her arm around my waist. "Besides, I like it more when you're a bitch." She chuckled as she shook her head at me.
We walked inside the classroom and sat at the back.
We were sitting in silence which was different to what I was used to. She looked like she had a million thoughts running through her mind but I wanted to wait for her to speak to me.
"He cheated on me," she blurted out randomly and I looked at her.
"What?"
"That boy you just saw, he cheated on me." I gasped as I just looked at her. How could someone cheat on her? Isabella was honestly one of the prettiest people I knew. She had light brown hair with light green eyes and she had a figure girls would die for. I knew if I was into girls I would probably tap that. Luciana had told me that girls and boys were both after her and that Isabella sort of slept around. It only made sense that she slept around because of her ex cheating on her.
I sighed as I moved closer to her and wrapped my arms around her neck. "You don't need him," I said as I stroked her hair and she smiled at me.
She quickly pulled away and then I frowned. "Don't look at me like that, I don't want people thinking I'm vulnerable. I can't have people thinking that." I chuckled and shook my head at her.
There was no one in the classroom but I slipped my hand into hers and squeezed it. "Guys like him don't deserve you."
She blushed but gave me a small smile.
*****
"So how do you like it here?" I look at Adrianna who joined me in the living room while I was watching TV and I just shrugged my shoulders. It was different to Boston but I hadn't decided if it was a good different or a bad different yet.
Adrianna and I were pretty close and we looked alike. The only thing that differed was our hair colour. She had bright blonde hair from our mother and I had dark brown hair from our dad.
"I'm not sure if I like it yet," I replied and she rolled her eyes at me.
She sat down next to me and said "It's not that bad."
"I really don't like it here, I didn't even want to leave Boston." She sighed as she just looked at me.
"You're going to college next year, you can go back to Boson of you want." I doubted I was going to do that. None of my friends were going to stay in Boston because they were applying to different colleges and I didn't even want to go Boston
"Don't look so glum," she said as she elbowed me and I didn't say anything.
My phone started ringing and Madison's picture popped up on my screen which she saw.
"Answer it, I know how much you miss your friends," she said and I gave her a smile and watched as she got up and left the room.
I answered the call and heard noises in the background.
"Mads."
"Hey," she slurred and my eyes widened.
"Are you drunk?"
She began muttering something and I sighed.
"Where are you Mads?"
She began talking in Spanish which she rarely did even though had a Spanish background. I only heard her do it when she was hooking up with boyfriend and I accidently walked in on her or when she was cursing someone out.
"Maddison tell me where you are."
She told me where she was and I put the call on hold as I called Piper. "Hey," she said.
"Piper where are you?" I asked curiously.
"At home, why?"
"Mads is at a party and she is drunk out of her mind. Can you go and pick her up?"
She groaned and I asked her what was wrong. Apparently Madison had been talking about this party for days and decided to go alone when everyone refused to go with her.
"I'm going to pick her up now."
"Okay I'll stay on the line with her till then."
"Great, thanks Addie," she said before hanging up and I started talking to Maddison.
It took ten minutes of her talking gibberish for Piper to turn up.
She took the phone off her and said that I could hang up now which I did.
When I got off the phone, I sat on my bed and sighed, realising just how much I missed them and Chase.
So I got a piece of paper out and I started writing a letter to Chase.
A letter that I would definitely post to him.
