38|Chase
CHAPTER 38
"Absence makes the heart grow stronger."
I had to disagree with my dad's comment.
"That is not true," I said and he narrowed his eyes at me.
"What do you mean it isn't true?" He asked.
I knew my dad was suspicious of my relationship with Madison but he had never said anything.
Rosemary was also suspicious but she was a kid so she just spoke her mind.
She gave Madison dirty looks and always tried to make it seem like she did not belong to be here. She even asked her if she was going to be the new Addison but before Madison could even reply she said that she liked Addison better and that Addison was the only right person for me.
"What do you mean by that Chase?" He asked and I sighed loudly.
"Who said I mean anything?" I questioned.
"Because I know you and knew that your words meant something no matter how badly you want me to ignore that."
I sighed and he folded his arms across his chest.
All I wanted to do was watch TV but my dad had to come here and speak to me.
"I don't love her anymore," I whispered and his face fell.
He put his hand on my shoulder and took a deep breath. "It's okay son."
"I am a cheat dad," I mumbled and I covered my face with my hand and he sighed as he wrapped his arms around me. He cupped the back of my head and I buried my face in his chest.
"I'm sure Addison will understand," he replied and I sighed loudly.
"She is going to hate me for ever."
"She won't."
I appreciated my dad's comment but I knew that Addison hated lies and she also hated cheaters.
I remembered a time when Addison got angry when Piper's ex-boyfriend cheated on her two years ago.
"You are with Madison aren't you?" He said and I nodded my head.
"Your mother and I knew it," he said quietly.
"I'm sorry I'm a cheat," he mumbled and I folded my arms cross my chest.
"Do you love her?"
"Who?" I asked.
"Madison," he answered simply and I pulled away from him.
"Yeah," I said quietly as I nodded my head.
He gave me a small smile as he patted my head. "Then you need to end it with Addison."
"I know dad but how am supposed to do that? It is so hard. Every time she calls me or texts me, I feel so guilty because of Madison. Dad you don't get it."
"Go and talk to Madison then," he said and sighed loudly before getting up and leaving.
Ten minutes later, I was at Madison's house who had Piper and Leticia round. "Hey," I said and she smiled at me, walking over to me and pecking my lips.
It had been while and we were comfortable in front of our friends to show our relationship and or love for one another. It wasn't like anyone could eve do anything about it.
"Why are you here?" Leticia asked playfully and I smirked at her.
"Because I wanted to spend my time with Mads," I replied. "But don't worry I didn't know she had you girls round."
"You're not stealing her," Piper replied and I chuckled.
I loved the fact that Madison still had Piper and Leticia even if she didn't have Jade or Spencer. She clearly didn't need them because she was still living her life.
"You never know Pips," I replied and she gave me a small smile.
Madison grabbed my hand and pulled me outside. "What are you doing here?" She asked me as she wrapped her arms around my neck and I smiled at her.
"I wanted to see your beautiful face," I replied and she chucked as she buried her face into my neck.
"Aren't you a charmer?"
"Aren't I just? You're lucky you have me Madison."
She pulled way from me and folded her arms across her chest. "Only I don't have you doI?" She said quietly. She was being insecure and vulnerable.
"You do have me," I said as I cupped her chin and she rolled her eyes.
"No I don't," she muttered.
"Madison look at me." She looked up at me and put her hand on her hip. "You do have me."
"No I don't because you're still with Addison." My face fell as I folded my arms across my chest and sighed loudly. "I'm sorry okay I didn't mean to upset you. But you're with Addison," she added.
"I'll end it with her-"
"How long have you been saying that?" She asked quietly.
I just wrapped my arms rougher and she let me.
"Problems?" Leticia said as she looked at us.
Madison pulled away from me and sighed.
"Not really I'm just trying to get him to understand that he's still with Addison," Madison said quietly and Leticia sighed as she wrapped her arms around her.
"Aw Mads," she said quietly and Madison sighed. "Stop thinking that because you are just going to make yourself go crazy. You both need to enjoy life and you can worry about this whenever the time comes."
"I need to end it with her," I said softly.
"Are you guilty?" Madison looked at me and I sighed loudly.
"A little."
"Why would you feel guilty?" Leticia asked me and I looked at her.
"I fell for my girlfriend's best friend," I said in an obvious tone.
"Well Addison might have gotten with someone," Leticia added.
That thought hadn't crossed my mind.
I knew she hated cheaters so I didn't think she would ever do that. But whenever she had one drink at a party, she would go wild and she wouldn't remember anything so she could have hooked up with someone.
I just shrugged my shoulders because I didn't know.
"Mads I love you," I said standing in front of her.
"I love you too," she replied and I kissed her which she returned.
"I am going to leave you girls to it because I have ruined your hang out."
Madison smiled and kissed my cheek before I left.
I was in my car, driving on my way home once I saw Spencer walking. It was about to start raining because the clouds had gotten grey.
"Spence!" I shouted and she looked at me.
"Leave me alone," she said in a bored tone and I rolled my eyes at her.
"Get in," I insisted and she sighed loudly as she looked at me in disbelief.
"No."
"Come on Spence you know it is going to rain so stop being so stubborn and just get in." She rolled her eyes but slid into the passenger seat and I sighed in relief.
"I'm still not talking to you," she say breaking the silence as I started driving.
"Oh yeah because of my relationship with Madison," I sarcastically said and she scoffed.
"Relationship?" She mocked. "You call that a relationship? It isn't a relationship, it's a joke," she snapped rudely.
I turned to look at her, ready to respond. Before I could even say anything, she screamed "look out!"
I looked forward sand saw headlights speeding towards us. Before I could even react or steer away, the engine stopped.
"Chase do something!" She yelled. It was too late and within a second, I felt my body slam against the seatbelt as a lorry crashed into my car, causing it to roll over numerously as the shattering glass sliced my arms.
