35|Addison
CHAPTER 35
"Addie!"
I could hear Christopher's small voice. I still didn't know how long they were all staying. Adelyn was a lead consultant at her own hospital and Blair was a dentist at his own dentist so they could take time off whenever they wanted.
"Addie!" Christopher still said and I bit my lip.
"Why did you wake me up?" I questioned. To say that I as annoyed would be an understatement.
"My mom told me to."
"Why would she tell you to even wake me up?"
I turned to look at my bedside table and my eyes widened once the time said 11. I was so late for school and it was the first day back.
Now I knew why Adelyn made Christopher wake me up.
I quickly got up, picking grey shorts and a white top before going to the bathroom to shower.
Twenty minutes later, I walked downstairs ready and Adelyn rolled her eyes once she saw me. "If mom and dad were here they would completely flip," she said and I rolled my eyes.
"Well they aren't are they?"
"Shut up Addison, with the time that you have woken up you really shouldn't speaking." I ignored her comment and made a coffee for myself.
"Why didn't Grey wake me up?" I asked and she shrugged her shoulders.
"Tabitha came over pretty early so he forgot all about you."
"Great," I sarcastically said as I waited for the kettle to boil.
"I swear if I hadn't sent Chris to wake up then you probably would have stayed sleeping," she commented and I smiled because that was probably true.
I really didn't even want to go to school today.
When the kettle boiled, I made my coffee and just sat at the table sipping it. "You have school you know," she said and I rolled my eyes.
"So? I want to enjoy my coffee," I replied and she sat down opposite me.
"So I heard you're dating a guy called Chase," she started and I knew that Adrianna and Greyson must have told her that.
"Yep."
"So how are things between you?" She asked and I sucked in a deep breath. I hadn't told anyone just how bad things were between us and I wondered if Chase had told anyone about it.
I hoped he didn't because our relationship wasn't anyone else's business.
"Is everything okay between you two?" She asked and I nodded my head.
"Yeah why would you ask that?"
"I don't know, Ri doesn't think you're okay," she replied and I sucked in a deep breath.
"What has she said?" Adrianna really spoke too much sometimes.
"Just that you weren't happy," she replied and I sighed loudly.
"I'm going to go to school now, I'm already late." I stood up and was about to walk past her bit she grabbed my hand.
"You know you can always talk to me you know that right?"
"How would I? You didn't stay in contact for five years," I said emotionlessly and she rolled her eyes.
"I know and I'm sorry," she insisted and I looked at her.
"Yes I know I can talk to you, I don't know why I said that," I said and she just gave me a small smile before pulling me in for a hug which I returned. "I'll see you later," I said once I pulled away from her and she smiled at me.
I got inside my car switching the radio on before pulling my car out of the driveway.
It took me ten minutes to drive to school and when I did, it was already lunch.
I debated on just sitting in my car or going somewhere else but I knew my parents would have killed me for that so instead, I took a deep breath as I got out of my car.
I waked to the reception and signed in.
The woman who was working there really did give me a dirty look and I wasn't just imagining it.
She was probably questioning wee I was this late on the first day back to school. I really didn't care though as I just ignored the look and just walked to the cafeteria where everyone would be having lunch.
I walked over to my usual table and saw that Dominic was sitting beside Luciana, obviously and Darren was sitting next to Shane.
I sat down beside Veronica and they all looked at me. "What?" I said a little annoyed.
"You're late," Isabella replied and I shrugged my shoulders.
"I woke up late."
"This late?" Shane mocked and I rolled my eyes at him.
They were making fun of the fact that I was late but I really didn't care.
"There's literally like five minutes of lunch left," Luciana commented and I rolled my eyes.
"Can you please stop mocking me?" I impatiently said and she smirked.
"Dominic, this is Addison, Addison, this is my boyfriend Dominic," she said introducing us and I nodded my head at Dominic, acknowledging his presence.
I didn't really make any comment and he didn't say anything either.
"And this is Darren, they guy I was telling you about," Shane said and I glanced at Darren.
He had dark coloured hair and he was about Shane's height. He just looked more closed off.
I compared him with Dominic who had blonde hair and hazel eyes.
My phone vibrated and I got it out to see a text from Chase.
We need to talk.
He didn't even sign it off. I thought that was enough to just tell me that something was wrong.
"Addison!" Shane said loudly and I looked at him. "You know it's rude to text when you have company," he mocked and I clenched my jaw. I wasn't even texting, it was Chase who was doing that.
I didn't say anything, I just got up and left the cafeteria because everything was feeling slightly claustrohphic.
I sighed as I walked into the bathroom and sighed loudly.
I waited for another text to come in for him to just explain what he was saying but unfortunately he didn't come.
"Hey." I turned around to look at Veronica who walked inside and I didn't say anything.
"What are you doing here?"
"I came here to check up on you obviously," she replied and sighed loudly.
"Well now that you have done that you can just go back to the cafeteria-"
"That isn't going to happen," she insisted as she sat down near the sinks to get a good luck of me.
"It isn't a big goal."
"Oh really so if it isn't a big deal then why did you just walk out?" She said and I shrugged my shoulders.
"I think my boyfriend is going to break up with me," I said quietly and her face fell as she stood next to me.
"Why would you think that?"
Instead of saying anything, I just showed her the text that Chase had sent me.
"That doesn't mean anything," she insisted. "Why would he dump a girl like you?" She replied and I scoffed. I appreciated her comment but it really wasn't changing my mind.
"I respect that Vee, but it's obvious."
She sighed as she just wrapped her arms around my neck and sighed. "If he dumps you Ads then he is a weirdo and if I ever meet him I will kick his ass," she whispered and I smiled at her.
"Thanks Vee," I replied confidently when we pulled away and she winked at me.
"He'll be an idiot to just throw away someone like you away," she replied and I smiled at her.
"So this is where you two are hiding away," Isabella said as she stood next to us.
"I just have a headache," I replied and Veronica played along with me.
I turned to Isabella and pulled her in for a hug. She was caught off guard but she returned it.
Isabella was a rising star. Everywhere you went, her picture was on magazines and billboards.
"Congratulations," I replied and she chuckled as she pulled away from me.
"When we walked into school this freshman walked inside with a magazine in her hand and asked her to sign in it for her." I chuckled while Isabella blushed.
"Aw."
"I seriously don't even know how this happened," Isabella said and I put my hand on her arm.
"You're talented Isabella that is how it happened," Veronica replied and I nodded my head, agreeing with her.
"You know Bels, you can't just sleep around anymore," I replied and she rolled her eyes.
"I know," she mumbled.
"And you can't just let anyone in anymore," I warned and Isabella frowned at me.
"I know that too," she snapped and I rolled my eyes, wrapping my arm around her.
It turned into a group hug because Veronica joined in and I had no idea how long we stayed like that.
All I knew was that it took my mind off Chase,
