CHAPTER 32

I was going bowling with Madison.

She had suggested it and I happily obliged.

It would be nice spending time with Madison alone, just the two of us. We had been hanging out in large groups to draw suspicion away from us and that seemed to be working very well.

I picked Madison up at her house and she was wearing a black mini shirt and a grey shirt. "Is this a date?" she asked and I smirked at her.

"Do you want it to be?"

A small blush formed on her cheeks as she leaned in closer. "It isn't about what I want."

"Okay then yep this is a date," I said, making her smile.

She looked down at the floor and I knew she had a lot of thoughts on her mind. "What are you thinking about?"

"Nothing."

Bull.

I cupped her chin and made her look at me. "Tell me what you're thinking because believe it or not I can't read your mind."

 "I just," she started but didn't continue.

"Hey," I said, making her look at me. "I won't judge you Mads you can tell me anything."

"I've wanted this for so long," she mumbled and I smiled at her.

She couldn't get any cuter.

"Come here," I said as I leaned in forward and closed the distance between us.

When we pulled away, she had a smile on her face which I returned.

"When Addison finds out, she's never going to talk to me," she said quietly and the guilty feeling came back again.

No matter how guilty I felt I couldn't deny the fact that I liked Madison.

It was more than liked.

These feelings were way too strong and I knew that Madison felt the same way.

"I know but let's not think about that now," I replied as I brushed her hair away from her face.

"I really like you Chase, you don't even get it. This isn't a joke to me-"

"Hey, hey, I know," I said, wanting to put her fears at rest. "This isn't a joke to me either okay? I like you a lot"

She blushed and smiled at me again.

"Are you ready?" I asked as I held out my hand and she smiled at me, nodding her head.

She slipped her hand in mine and we walked to my car.

I quickly walked into the passenger seat and opened the door for her. She smiled at me before sitting inside and I closed the door before getting inside.

The radio started playing Bruno Mars' Just the Way You Are and it brought back memories.

I remembered a few months ago when I played this song for Addison because it conveyed all of the feelings that I had for her. She was one happy girl that day.

Boy, how things had changed since then.

The drive there only took ten minutes.

When we got out, I walked around to her side and quickly opened the car door for her and she smiled at me. "You're a gentleman aren't you?"

"That's me," I joked and she giggled.

We walked inside and got our shoes before heading down a lane together.

She was up first and I watched as she swayed her hips seductively before throwing the ball. I gasped once it hit all ten balls.

"How did you do that?"

"It's a secret," she replied as she tapped her nose and I just rolled my eyes at her.

"Mads-"

"Your turn," she  said with a wink and I rolled my eyes as I grabbed a ball and rolled it, only to hit two balls.

She laughed and I could feel the heat rising my cheeks. "Don't laugh at me."

"Aw," she said as she sat down beside me.

"Seriously stop laughing."

"Bless you," she replied as she stroked my cheek and I pouted, causing her to kiss it away.

I rolled my eyes at her but I was glad she was having fun.

She sat on my lap and I sighed loudly. "It's not a big deal, it just gives me an excuse to teach you," she whispered in my ear before kissing my cheek and I smiled at her.

I draped my arms over her waist as I held her closer to me.

Half an hour into our date, Madison was talking to a young man who started flirting with her.

He was rubbing his hand on her forearm and it made me feel weird.

The only thing I could see was red and I wanted her to stop talking him but she didn't think anything of it as she just ignored it.

I walked over to them and draped my arm over her waist pulling her closely to me. The man looked at us and then thought we were together, getting the hint and I clenched demy jaw.

"Sorry," he said looking at Madison before walking away from us.

"What the hell was that?" Madison snapped and I sighed loudly.

"I'm sorry-"

"You don't get to say sorry," she hissed and I sighed loudly.

"Look, why are you being like that?" I asked quietly and she rolled her eyes at me, shaking her head.

"You are acting like I'm some kind of possession Chase and I'm not."

"I am sorry-"

"No I don't want to hear it, I am not doing you Chase so is it wrong that I like the attention that I get?" I sighed as I put both of my hands on her shoulders

"You have my attention-"

"You're not mine. You need to give attention to Addison and Addison only."

I sucked in a deep breath because I was feeling guilty again. I hated feeling like this but there really was nothing that I could do to take the guilt away.

I knew this situation was a tricky one and that I was hurting Addison but none of that seemed to matter right now.

"Madison," I said as I cupped her cheek and she held my hand that was on her cheek as she kissed my lips.

"I might be a lot of things Chase but I am not a cheater and this is wrong. I should never have agreed to this. You're dating one of my best friends."

I sighed because when you looked at it like that then it was bad.

"I've wanted to say this for a long time but I love you," she said quietly. "But I can't do anything with you because you're already taken."

"Mads don't do this-"

"I have to-"

"Madison-"

"No," she said stubbornly as she just walked away.

I bit my lower lip as I watched her leave and felt a small part of my heart break.

Once I got home, Rosemary walked towards me. "Ask him then," my dad said and I looked at both of them.

"What?" I asked quietly.

"It's the holidays," she started and I raised my eyebrows at her silently wondering what else she was going not say.

"And?"

"And is Addison going to visit it not?" I sighed loudly as I folded my arms across my chest.

Oh God.

I really couldn't deal with this right now.

"No she isn't coming," I replied before walking into my room and closing the door.
