31|Addison

CHAPTER 31

I was lying down on the couch as a movie I hadn't seen before played in front of me.

Adelyn walked inside and switched the TV off before sitting down beside my stretched legs. "Did you want something?" I asked rudely and she rolled her eyes.

"How long is this going to go on?" she asked and I slowly sat up.

I had managed to avoid having this conversation with her but I didn't know how much longer I could avoid it.

"Look I'm sorry for not visiting or staying in contact," she said as she brushed my hair away from my face. "Seriously I'm sorry Addie but you're my baby sister and I love you. You can't ignore me for ever."

"I can try," I replied, shrugging my shoulders and she rolled her eyes at me.

"So you would really try and ignore me then?"

"Yes, why do you sound so surprised?"

"I'm sorry I hurt you Addie but you can't just shut me out." I rolled my eyes and didn't say anything. "Plus I bought a house in Boston so you can visit whenever you want to see your friends and use the fact that you're visiting me to cover for you."

I didn't say anything.

Yes this was an advantage but I was still annoyed.

"You broke your promise," I said quietly and she sighed.

"I know and for that I'm sorry. I seriously don't even know what to do to get you to talk to me again."

"And how am I supposed to know it won't happen again?"

"With the way you're acting now do your really think I am going to do this again?" she retorted and I rolled my eyes. She had a point.

She opened her arms, signalling a hug and I rolled my eyes but wrapped my arms around her neck and she returned the embrace. "I freaking missed you. It was five fucking years Lyn."

She sighed as she just held me tighter.

Adelyn and I had always been the closest but after she got married, I got close with Adrianna and Greyson.

"I know Ads," she said as she rubbed her hand up and down my back. "I missed you too," she replied as she kissed my hair and I pulled away from her.

"Aw look who's talking," mocked Greyson as he sat beside us on the couch and I rolled my eyes.

"Did Tabitha get tired of you and dump your ass?" I mocked.

"Shut up," he snapped and I smirked, knowing he was offended.

"Tabitha is pretty cool," Adelyn said but I decided not to say anything.

I didn't think she would hurt Greyson but I wasn't the best of friends with her either.

My phone vibrated and it was a text from Shane.

Meet by George Street in ten minus. –Shane

I rolled my eyes because he wasn't even asking me he was basically demanding it.

"I'm going out," I said looking at them both.

"Mom and dad have gone out too," Greyson replied and I shrugged my shoulers. He just scoffed and Adelyn raised her eyebrows at me.

"Where are you going and who are you going with?"

"It's a little too late for you to be acting like the older sister," I mocked and Adelyn rolled her eyes. "Sorry," I added. "I'm going to meet a friend I don't even need your permission."

"I never said you did," she muttered and I rolled my eyes.

I just left the house without saying anything else.

Five minutes later, I met Shane who had Isabella with him. "Shane you idiot," I said instantly.

"What?" he replied and I just glared at him.

"What is she even doing here? Why did you invite her?" I was getting really annoyed because he didn't even warn me or tell me beforehand. That was nothing but sneaky in my opinion and I hated sneaky people.

"Just sit down okay?"

"Sit down?" I mocked and Shane looked at me silently telling me to be quiet and so I sat down opposite them.

"I just wanted you two to sort everything out between you two," he replied shrugging his shoulders."

"Tell your friend to apologise for the stupid stunt she pulled," I replied, looking at Shane.

"Tell your friend to apologise for calling me a slut," Isabella said and Shane scoffed as he looked at me.

"You called her a slut?"

"It is true, she'll sleep with anything that has legs," I replied and he clenched his jaw.

Isabella stood up and Shane grabbed her hand. "No, Isabella you're not leaving."

"Why would I want to sit here and listen to her insults?" she snapped and I rolled my eyes at her. "You know that was my cousin," she added as she looked at me. "And I told you to hang out with Veronica because I was busy organising a present to give to you."

She put a blue long case in front of me and I bit my lip. "Open it," she demanded.

I opened it to see a gold necklace that had my name on it and I sighed loudly. I looked at Isabella who had a hard look on her face.

"Next time try not to jump to conclusions," she snapped rudely.

"Isabella," Shane said and I sighed not even knowing what to say to her.

"I'm sorry."

"I don't care," she replied as she shrugged her shoulders and I sighed loudly, looking at her.

Shane stood up and whispered something in her ear before walking away from us.

Isabella sat down and crossed her legs as she looked everywhere but my eyes. "I'm sorry," I said and she didn't say anything.

"Why do you feel the need to keep saying I'll sleep with anything that has legs? You say that all the time and it is nothing but insulting," she snapped. "Are you just saying that because I don't have a preference?"

"I don't know why I say it," I answered honestly and she didn't say anything. "I can't accept it," I said, giving her back the necklace and she rolled her eyes.

"Just keep it," she said as she gave it back to me and I sighed.

"I am really, really sorry," I said but she kept quiet.

I got up and sat down next to her, wrapping my arms around her neck and she rested her head on my shoulder. "Do you think I'm a slut?" she whispered and that question made me realise just how much I had upset her.

"No I don't."

"You're just saying that-"

"No seriously I don't," I insisted and she pulled away from me.

"Then stop calling me degrading stuff. I would never ditch any of my friends for someone I'm dating." I sighed as I gave her another hug.

"I'm really sorry."

"Okay," she replied and smiled at her. "I'm still upset though," she added and I rested my head against hers.

"Is there anything I can do to cheer you up then?"

"Put on the necklace," she said and I smiled.

I sat up, picking the necklace up and giving it to her so she could put in for me which she did. "Thank you," I said quietly and she smiled at me.

"You're welcome."

*****

When I returned home, I quickly went to my room to get changed and to take a shower.

I got changed in onesie and when I returned back into my room, I saw jade laying down on my bed. "Oh my God!" I said as I bounced on my bed and she laughed at my reaction as he hugged me.

"You dyed your hair!"

"Yep, I am such a rebel," I joked and she laugh, pulling me in for a hug which I returned. "How long are you staying?

"A week?"

"Oh my God," I squealed again and she smirked at me.

"You better not ditch me for your new friends. Spence told me you made a lot of new friends." I smiled but rolled my eyes at her.

"I would never ditch you Jade," I said and she rested her head don my shoulder.

"I missed you."

"I missed you more," I winked and she chuckled.

My phone vibrated and it was a text from Luciana.

Party at my place on Wednesday! –L

I thought you got grounded last time? –A

My parents are out of town which obviously screams party! You better be there Addison. –L

Aren't I there for all your parties? –A

Fair point, I'll text you later.-L

I knew she was with her boyfriend and I rolled my eyes at her.

"Anything important?" Jade asked and I forgot she was even here.

"There's a party on Wednesday, do you want to go?" She chuckled and smirked at me.

"When have I ever turned down a party?"

"Good because we are totally going." She smiled at me and I wrapped my arms around her neck again, not wanting to let go.
