CHAPTER 29

"Dad can I ask you something?" I was in my dad's study office and he looked up at me.

"What?"

Okay, he was still angry with me for dying my hair. "I'm sorry for changing my hair colour," I said and he put his papers on his desk as he gave me his full attention.

"And why did you just do it without getting permission from your mother or me?"

"It's my hair, I don't see why I need to get permission. Am I going to need permission to breathe now too?" I asked sarcastically and he clenched his jaw as he just looked at me in disbelief.

"Addison," my mother warned as she walked inside and closed the door behind her.

"Why is he making such a massive deal out of it?" I snapped and my dad scoffed as he shook his head.

"I think this long distance relationship is messing with your head," my dad said and I rolled my eyes as I turned around to look at him.

"No the only thing that has messed with my head is the fact that you decided to move the entire family here just because you got a job offer," I replied and my mother put her hand on my shoulder, telling me to be quiet.

"Why did you come into my office Addison?" my dad asked.

"I wanted to know if you were still too mad to let me go to Boston."

"That is not happening," my mother replied and I turned to look at her.

"What? You're supposed to be the laid back parent," I said and she chucked.

"It's about time you spent time with Adelyn and I think that this one week holiday will be a great opportunity for you to bond again." I rolled my eyes at her comment because I would rather bond with Chase.

"Please?"

"No," my mother replied instantly.

"There's your answer Addison I guess you apologised for nothing," my dad said and I rolled my eyes.

"It wasn't like I meant it," I snapped before walking out of his office and going to my car.

I quickly rang Chase's number because I thought I had to break the news to him.

"Hey," I said.

"Hi," he replied.

"What's wrong?"

His voice wasn't as calm as it usually was so I knew that he was upset about something. I needed to know what was wrong with him.

"Nothing, anyway what's up?"

He was clearly hiding whatever was wrong with him just for the sake of it.

"I can't come to Boston. I'm sorry."

There was silence on the other end for a few minutes and I silently hoped that he wasn't angry at me because if he was, I didn't know what I was going to do. If he was annoyed then that would just put another strain on our relationship and we didn't need that right now.

"Oh."

"I'm sorry," I said quietly.

"Don't apologise." There was talking on the other end and I could tell that he wasn't alone. "Jade wants to talk to you," he said.

"Put her on."

"Hey," she said and a small smile formed on my lips.

"Hi."

"Seen as you can't come to Boston, would you mind if I visited?"

"You want to visit me?" I asked in a shocked tone and she laughed at my reaction.

"Yes of course I do so can I or not?" I smiled and sighed.

"I don't know, I'm just going to ask my parents, two minutes."

"Sure thing."

I silently cussed because I would have to go back to them after our previous conversation.

I walked back into my dad's office and my parents were talking.

"Hi," I said and my mother laughed shaking her head at me but my dad was annoyed.

"You are not going to Boston," my dad replied and I rolled my eyes.

"I know that," I said in an offended tone. "I just wanted to ask if it was okay," I started, "if a friend came over to stay."

"What friend?" My dad asked.

"Jade."

"She's a nice girl," my dad replied and I rolled my eyes because the word 'nice' should never be used to describe Jade.

"So can she come or not?"

"Of course she can, you better behave yourself though Addison because I'm getting sick of your tantrums," my mother replied.

"I didn't even throw a tantrum, do you even know what that word mans?" I mocked.

"Right Jade isn't coming now," my dad replied.

"No okay I'm sorry I promise I'll behave myself," I said and they both looked at one another.

"If you behave and then start with the tantrums when Jade does leave, you will never go to Boston and you will never have a friend round," my mother warned and I rolled my eyes. "And stop with the eye rolling, it is rude and disrespectful."

"Fine."

"Fine?" My dad mocked.

"Okay I'll start behaving," I mumbled and my dad smirked at my comment.

"Well in that case then Jade can come," my mother replied and I smiled before leaving the room.

"Did you hear that?" I asked Jade.

"Do you have to be that rude?" she asked and I rolled my eyes.

"Shut up okay, they're a pain in the backside." She laughed and I knew she was probably rolling her eyes at my comment.

"Yep, I heard it. I can take a flight on Monday if that's okay?"

"That's fine," I replied. "I can't believe you're actually coming, I've missed you so freaking much Jade."

"I've missed you more," she repaid and I smiled "I have to go, I'll call you on my own phone later on okay?"

"Okay."

I hung up and the doorbell rang.

I opened the door to reveal Tabitha. "I'm guessing you want Greyson," I said with a smirk and he appeared, glaring at me.

"Yep," she replied.

She was dressed in a black dress and had her hair curled. Greyson was wearing a suit and I snorted. "Oh my God are you two going on a date?" I mocked.

They both blushed and I punched Greyson. "Ow!" he yelled.

"You're supposed to pick the girl up you dumb idiot. God have I not taught you anything?" He rolled his eyes and Tabitha blushed.

"She was staying at a friend's house so it was easier if she came here-"

"Oh whatever Grey," I replied and he gave me a death stare.

My mother came and stood next to me. "You look lovely Tabitha."

"Thank you Mrs-"

"What have I told you?" My mother replied and I chucked

"Thank you Josephina."

"You're welcome." She turned to look at Greyson and said "you better not get her pregnant." He blushed and I smirked.

"It's Grey I won't be surprised if he already has."

Both my mother and Greyson gave me death stares and I rolled my eyes. They didn't have a sense of humour.

"Fine," I said as I walked away from them.

"Keep making comments like that and Jade will not be coming over," my mother yelled so I could hear her but I just rolled my eyes, deciding not to bother with her.

"Addie!" I looked down a Christopher.

"Yeah."

"Can you lay football with me?" He asked and I smirked. There was no way I was playing football with him.

"Let's go and ask RI," I said as I held his hand and he nodded his head.

Adrianna was watching TV when we joined her. "He wants to play football," I aid and she looked at me.

"So you go and play with him then."

"I don't play football," I replied and she rolled her eyes at me before getting up and taking Christopher with her.

I flopped down on the sofa and began browsing through the channels.

After realising that there wasn't anything worth watching, I gave up on TV and decided to go over to Isabella's house.

"Mom?" I said as I stood next to her.

"Yeah?"

"Can I go over to Isabella's house?"

"Be back within a couple of hours." I nodded my head before leaving the house.

When I got there, she already had company because a girl I didn't know answered the door.

Isabella appeared a few minutes later and she closed the door behind her. "Go and hang out with Veronica." I rolled my eyes as I just felt offended.

"So you are blowing me off to get laid?"

She just shrugged her shoulders and I scoffed, feeling offended. "Slut," I said and she glared at me.

"Don't talk to her like that," the girl who opened the door said.

"I'll talk to her however I want," I retorted.

I was more than annoyed at Isabella for being such a dog. She could be so irritating sometimes.

I walked away before she could even say anything and drove over to Veronica's house.

"What are you doing here?" she asked and I ignored her question as I invited myself inside.

"Shane," I said once I saw him sitting on the sofa. He looked like he had been crying through so I sat down next to him. "What's wrong?"

"His boy toy told him that he wasn't ready to come out," Veronica replied and I sighed loudly

I wrapped my arms around Shane and he rested his head on my shoulder. "He doesn't deserve you then."

"Don't say that," Veronica replied as she glared at me. "He clearly likes Shane, he just isn't ready to come out."

"Yeah but Shane doesn't deserve to be anyone's dirty little secret," I retorted and Shane smiled at me as he sat up.

"Let's talk about something else, what are you doing here?" Shane asked.

"I got bored at home so I decided to hang out with Isabella but then she blew me off for this random girl. God she fucks anything that can walk."

Veronica chuckled but Shane scoffed. "If you two weren't close then I would have killed you for saying that.

"I'm really pissed off at her," I said and Shane wrapped his arm around me.

"I'm sure it wasn't intentional-"

"It was, she wanted to get laid."

I rested my head on his shoulder and he just laughed, calling me a drama queen.

"Have you met the guy Luce is dating?" Veronica asked as she sat down next to me and I shook my head.

"I've seen him though."

"They go pretty well together," she commented.

She browsed through the channels and I looked at her, "where are your parents?"

"On a holiday."

"Don't you have siblings?"

"I have two older twin brothers but they're out," she replied and I nodded.

I knew that Shane and Luciana were only children and I had met their parents.

"Let's watch Paranormal Witness," I suggested and Veronica went on that channel.

Shane's phone vibrated and he told us it was a text from Darren who was the guy he was seeing. He wanted Shane to come over so I wasn't surprised at the fact that Shane left.

"It's just me and you," Veronica said and I hummed in agreement.

"Go and get a blanket," I commanded and she scoffed, leaving the room and returning few minutes later with a blanket.

"Thank you," I said, sharing it with her and she just smiled at me.

"Want to cuddle?" she suggested, opening her arms and I nodded my head, resting my head on her shoulder as she wrapped her arms around me.

"This is scary you know," I warned, looking up at her and she rolled her eyes.

"Doesn't bother me," she replied and I chuckled.

"Okay," I sarcastically replied, turning my attention back to the screen.
