28|Chase
CHAPTER 28
I didn't want to see any one which was why I was sulking in my room. I didn't really have the right to sulk but here I was.
My bedroom door opened and my dad walked inside. "It's the start of the holidays," he said and I rolled my eyes.
"So?"
"So why are you in your room?" he asked and I shrugged my shoulders.
"Because I want to stay in my room," I replied and he closed the door behind him as he sat down on my bed. "Can I ask you something?" I asked.
"Of course."
"Can I go to San Francisco?" I asked and my dad sighed as he cupped his forehead.
"You've been before, let Addison come," he replied.
"She came last time-"
"For what Chase? a day? That doesn't count." I sighed even though I knew it was true. I just wanted to see her and I hoped that would happen. Kissing Madison didn't really help the situation either.
"Eric called the house phone seen as you switched your phone off." I raised my eyebrows at him and he continued. "Your friends are going to a carnival and they would like it if you joined them."
"I'm not in the mod."
"Chase," he said and I sighed loudly. I hated these talks with my dad. They were man to man talks.
"Dad don't make me go to that stupid carnival," I muttered and he sighed loudly as he folded his arms.
"I'm not going to do that. You are old enough to make your own mind up."
"I know."
"This relationship with Addison is doing your head in," he said and I rolled my eyes at him.
"It isn't, its fine." He narrowed my eyes at him as he silently mocked my answer. I believed that our relationship was fine and I didn't care if he disagreed with it because this was our relationship not his and it didn't have anything to do with him.
"It isn't, you're going to get depressed if you carry on like this."
"You and mom got through it."
"I know but that was because I didn't mope around every single day."
"Fine," I snapped as I stood up. "I'll go to this stupid carnival then."
I just hoped I didn't see Madison.

I parked my car in the car park and got my phone out, dialing Addison's number. "Hey," I said, smiling when she answered.
"Hello to you too," she replied.
"How are you doing Ads?"
"I'm doing okay considering everything," she said quietly. "What about you?"
"The same, only I miss you and I want to visit but my dad isn't letting me."
"Oh."
"Do you think you could visit?" I asked quietly. I hated that I was asking her this but I needed to see her. Maybe these feelings from Madison would stop then.
"I don't know," she replied quietly. "I'm not on good terms with my dad," she added.
"Why? What happened?"
"I dyed my hair and he went nuts, he's so controlling," she muttered and I chuckled. Peter was a great dad but he was over protective over his kids and Addison was the only one who really challenged him so they didn't get on some times.
"So you don't think he'll let you?"
"I doubt it. I had to beg to go for a day, what am I supposed to do to get him to agree to stay for a week?" I laughed as I shook my head at her.
"Can you try?"
"Yeah of course I can, I can just tell you what he says afterwards."
"Okay, how are your holidays?" She sighed on the other end and I knew it wasn't going great but I wanted to know why.
"They're awful, Adelyn's back."
Adelyn was her sister and the two of them were really close till Adelyn left and didn't really stay in contact. I knew that hurt Addison even though she rarely spoke about it. She always acted like she only had one sister and one brother but those close to her knew she also had another sister who she rarely spoke about.
"How long is she staying?"
"She doesn't even know which is so stupid," she mumbled and I could tell she really was upset.
I really wanted to go San Francisco to be able to cheer her up. I missed not being able to hold her whenever she was feeling down. I needed to see her.
"I'm sorry."
"Why are you even apologising?"
"I just thought it was the right thing to say," I admitted and she giggled. God I missed hearing that sound.
There were some chattering on the other end. "I have to go Chase," she said and I sighed, not being able to hide my sadness. "I promise I'll talk to you soon okay?"
"Okay."
"And I'll ask my parents about going to Boston."
After we said goodbye I just sat in the car. What the hell was I even doing with Madison? That was a question I couldn't answer no matter how badly I wanted to.
There was a knock on my car window and Spencer sat down in my passenger seat.
"I know about the kiss," she said and I rolled my eyes.
"Does everyone?"
"Yep."
"How do you even know about that?" I questioned because if Madison was telling people then I would just have to kill her.
"Piper saw you two come out of the janitor's closer and you had her pink lipstick all over your cheek and neck."
"God," I muttered as I rested my head on the steering wheel. I knew that coming to this stupid carnival was going to be a bad idea.
"I don't get it Chase, why?" she asked. Her voice was quiet. It was like she was losing hope.
"I don't know what to say Spence, it just happened. "
"Did it have to happen with Mads? of all the people you could have chosen to make out with you chose your girlfriend's best friend," she snapped and I ran my hands through my hair. Yes it was bad.
"I'm sorry-"
"Only I am not the person you should be apologising to. When she finds out this is going to break her," she said quietly and I took a deep breath. I knew that but this was making me feel a hundred times worse.
"It was a mistake."
"You like Madison," she said and I clenched my jaw.
"No I don't."
"Yes you do," she replied as she narrowed her eyes tame. "Addison doesn't deserve this." I agreed with that because she did deserve way better than me.
"I promise you it was a mistake Spence. I was just missing Addison and it happened quickly."
She raised her eyebrows at me and looked like she was debating on whether to believe me or not.
"I'm not lying to you."
"So you don't like me then?" We both looked at Madison who was leaning against Spencer's window.
Spencer looked at me, almost challenging me to say what I did again but this time to her face. "No Mads, you're one of my best friends but I'm missing Ads and I know it's not fair on you. My head is all over the place right now but the one thing I do know for a fact is that I don't feel anything for you."
I could see the flash of hurt in her eyes as she nodded her head and walked away.
Spencer turned to look at me and said "you better not make that mistake again," before stepping out of the car and catching up to Madison as she hugged her.
I just sighed and leaned back in my seat.
I sent a text to Eric telling him that something came up and that I had to leave the carnival.
In all honesty, nothing did come up I just couldn't face seeing everyone knowing that they all knew what happened between Madison and I.
I really needed to fix my head.
