The trees swayed around the blue-gray cat as she awoke, blinking. She stood, looking around. Am I dreaming?
"Yes, this is a dream, Dewfeather." A cream colored cat padded infront of the medicine cat. "Strawleaf..." Dewfeather dipped her head in respect to the StarClan cat.
Strawleaf nuzzled the young cat, then pulled away, her gaze turning serious. "There is a darkness coming to eradicate the Clans. Even StarClan..." She trailed off. Worry clouded in Dewfeather's eyes. "What is it?"
The cream-furred cat gazed at Dewfeather.
"A flower rare to starlit skies,
Shadows creep and monsters hide,
Paths and paws will be misled,
Hearts are tangled with thorns of dread,
A darkness waits for those who look,
The darkness comes for what stars took."
Dewfeather's eyes widened slightly. "But...What does it mean?"
There was no reply, as Strawleaf was fading away. Just before she faded, she meowed:
"Beware the Rose."
Then she disappeared, and Dewfeather woke up.
Getting to her paws, she rushed to Pondstar's den, glancing at the Nursery.
When she told the prophecy to Pondstar, the leader shook his head. "It can't be true."
The medicine cat nodded in agreement. "Let's hope it's not..."
