I fwew around the downstaiws awea wif glee, listening fow his giggles. "GWEGOWY!" I laughed, "WHEWE AWE YOU?" Even though I knew exactawwy whewe he was. "You found me Box Fwiend!! You weady to hide?" He smiled happiwy.
I shook my head, "Sowwy, Gwegowy! Some bad peopwe came in! I found dis on one of dem." I gave him the hooky ting and his eyes wit up.
"Wow, that wooks so cool!" Gwegowy began to fiddle wif it a bit, "Shouwd I hewp get rid of the bad peopwe?"
"I can do it, Gwegowy! You just hide hewe." Gwegowy nodded and continued to hide in the cabinets. I tewepowted back owt, diwectwy in fwont of the smawwer boy, who yelped and jumped back.
I wiww pwotect Gwegowy! These guys down't stand a chance.
--Gregory's POV--
I continued to mess around with the cool thing Box Friend gave me, instinct telling me not to touch the trigger, and everything else telling me to play with the rope. I heard Box Friend scream nearby, and I instantly began to black out. It didn't take long before I was napping in my head again.
It was fun while it lasted.
--Ford's POV--
I shot the Box thing with my laser gun, right between the eyes. A scream let out through the building in perfect three-part harmony. One from The box, something in the living room, and something in the basement. The box began to shrivel, caving in at the center of it's face, reveling an inky blackness dripping from the boxes. The thing looked directly at me and the disappeared, and with it the screaming. A couple rooms over I heard some groaning though. I looked over to the kids. Dipper looked horrified about what happened, and Mabel was still covering her ears with her eyes shut. I walked over and grabbed her shoulder.
"What... Was that?" Dipper asked, shocked.
"I don't know but the voices sounded close..." Mabel said, shaking a bit as she removed her hands from her head. "Am I the only one who hears crying?"
"I just hear some groaning nearby..." I said, pointing to the left, "from over there."
"Let's check it out." Dipper said. We snuck around, trying to be as quiet as possible. Mabel was in the room before any of us and when we got in she was looking at... Johnny Ghost?
Sure enough, Ghost was tucked up into the cabinets. He was moaning and sound asleep, and he was crying a bit as if he has just got out of great pain. Mabel leaned in to touch him.
"JOHNNY!" Someone screamed from below. Mabel's hand flinched away and Dipper looked down at our feet. Toast was downstairs, and Ghost was sleeping in the cabinets. There was a box thing that reminded me of Bill for some reason, and I had just got back today... We've got to help these guys...
--Toast POV--
Sir had lost it! He was chasing me with a knife... And not Casket, SIR. AS IN JOHNNY. I was still in the dream, sadly, and I had yet to get any other visits from Bill, but I could tell I was nearing the end. I ran into an alley, just to find a dead end. I turned to see if I could get out, when I suddenly felt a searing pain between my eyes. I fell to my knees, grabbing my skull, and began to scream in agony. I felt like my face was dissolving and I was blinded by the pain. It stopped as fast as it had come. I opened my eyes to see-
-Sir. Shoving a knife into my head.
"JOHNNY!" I screamed as I woke... I actually woke up! Is this a good thing or a bad thing? I looked around a bit, no one was here. I was alone in a dark dirt basement somewhere. I choked back a sob and released I was crying from a horrible pain... Right between my eyes, just like in the dream... I stood up, looking around my surroundings a couple of times. I thought I saw Box Thing in the far right corner, messing with some other boxes. I had to get out of there, I don't want to know what the creature had in store for me. The only door was to my right and the thing seemed a bit too... Close to it. I internally debated whether or not it was worth getting caught and most likely back to the nightmare. I just went with it, sir obviously wasn't down here... Maybe it was weaker? I dashed to the door, quick as I could and held my breath a bit so Box Thing couldn't hear me crying. I swung open the door and ran through.
I almost flew up the steps and opened a trap door that appeared directly above me. I unlocked the hatch and crawled into a pantry like room connecting to a dingy kitchen. I have never seen this place before in my life... I grabbed some whiskey I saw on the shelves, Johnny and I will probably need it after today and ran through the kitchen to continue my exploration.
I heard voices in a room a couple doors down from the entry room, and I prepared my gun in case they were hostiles. I was also going to check the time, but I remembered my watch slipped off during Gregory and Cardboard thing's conversation... it was a bit big for me... Decided to listen into the people's conversation.
"--He's out cold... And he has Mabel's grappling hook?"
"Weren't you holding that when we came in?" Someone who sounded like Dipper asked someone
"Yeah, I was! How'd he get ahold of it and still have time to pass out?" Someone who sounded exactly like Mabel said, "It doesn't make sense..." Crap, it's the Pine Twins... Oh Sir and I are going to be in trouble...
"Wait! I think he might be waking up!" Dipper pointed out as someone began moaning. I peeked into the room to see Ghost squashed under a TV cabinet and the Pines family standing by, helplessly. I sighed and walked in.
"Hullo, excuse me please, this is not the first time this has happened... Though last time I was the stuck one." I said, sitting down in front of Ghost and slowly prying him from the container. He entire time he was slowly regaining consciousness. Also Dipper was constantly trying to interrogate me, which got annoying really quick. Mabel kept her distance for most of the time and Ford just watched me. After awhile, I managed to pry Ghost from the cabnet and set him on a dust infested couch.
"Why were you here?!" Dipper demanded, "Why are you crying? What was the box thing? Wasn't it your book?"
I thought about it for awhile, and then decided to answer his questions. Mostly because Johnny was passed out and also because Dipper was never going to leave me alone if didn't. "Can't tell you, had a nightmare, nothing important, and... Yes it is." I answered. I might as well humor him, right?
"Those aren't real answers!" Dipper told me angrily.
"Sorry about Dipper! He's a bit stressed." Mabel cut in. Ford hasn't said anything sense I walked in. I wonder why?
I nodded, "It's okay. Ghost gets like this sometimes, too... Especially around people he doesn't like..." I said to Mabel.
"Okay... But seriously though why are you here?" Dipper asked me.
"Right now I'm waiting to see if my best friend's okay. And you?" I told him, smiling despite the pain and tears.
He didn't see the humor in it.
I looked back to Ghost. Please hurry and wake up...
--Ghost POV--
I gasped and woke up in a place I didn't remember fall asleep in, but instantly noticing that my face was wet and tears were streaming down my cheeks. There was a spot between my eyes that felt like I was shot in the face (I speak by experience). Mabel and Ford were sitting in front of me on some dusty furniture, and to my left sat Toast, also crying. But smiling as well? "Toast? Is something wrong? Why are you crying?"
"It's nothing sir, just a headache. I left the Advil at the car, so we'll have to get back first." He began to stand up and signaled I followed
"Hold it!" Mabel said before I could stand up, "Ghost, what's your story. Why are you here?"
"I... Don't know. I woke up here."
"Yes but how did you get here?"
"I have no idea! I woke up in this room next to Toast LITERALLY JUST A MINUTE AGO. SORRY IF I DON'T REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I SLEEP, BUT I DON'T EVEN KNOW MOST MY CHILDHOOD SO I'M USED TO IT."
Mabel stared at me a bit and Toast walked over and began pulling me away. I didn't even notice I had been walking toward her and Ford, but apparently I had been, considering I wasn't even a foot away from Mabel... We passed Dipper on our way out who just glared at us, and when Toast wasn't looking, I stuck my tongue out at him. He just stared at me when I didn't that.
I guess immaturity wins. Again!
Toast's been acting weird though... I should ask him if he's alright when we get back to the car...
