Abigail's luck seemed to run out when she left her brother's place. She desperately searched for a cozy room or a tiny apartment, but to no avail. The universe seemed to conspire against her. Every time she found a potential spot, either she didn't get a response, or the room was snatched away by someone else.
However, things improved when Jimin, her caring brother, visited her on her graduation day. Abigail's new look surprised him. After Rhys' harsh words, Abigail was determined to change her appearance to feel better about herself. That's when Elizabeth came to the rescue with her brilliant idea of a makeover. She invited Abigail to her favorite hair salon and transformed her sister's hair. As they say, a new hairstyle can improve one's confidence, especially after a break-up.
She had a good time with her sister. Chatting and ranting was never a thing Abigail would enjoy, but Elizabeth insisted on letting everything out. Liz called it ‘to draw the final line’ before moving further into a brighter future. And it worked. Her long hair was her pride and joy, and she was very particular about trimming even the smallest amount. But she decided to cut it just a tiny bit. And boy, was she in for a surprise! Her hair, once a not-so-blond-but-not-brown-either shade, was now a gorgeous, juicy wine red that perfectly complemented her whisky-colored eyes and honey skin. The best part? This simple change greatly impacted her self-esteem, something she couldn't have imagined in a million years.
Liz even decided to go shopping to spice things up a bit, but Abigail wasn't too thrilled with the idea. However, she gave in and let her sister work her magic. During their outing, her sister had preached about the importance of self-love and indulging in things that brought joy and pleasure. But Abigail couldn't help but think about her studies and her love for science.
"Liz, you know I'm not really into this kind of stuff. I prefer studying, science, and reading books," Abigail said.
"Liv, you're young and vibrant! It would help if you tried doing things that people your age enjoy. Summer break is coming up soon, and I suggest you go out and have some fun!" Liz urged. “Go visit a party, dance, and drink; don't tell Mom I said that. Meet new people. Have one-night-stands. Explore new things. Anything but studying!”
And with that said, Abigail took her brother's offer. Jimin gave her the spare keys to the apartment in Boston, finally giving her the chance to find a place to live before the season started in October. He would visit a woman he met on the internet in Europe while the other guys were on a camping tour around Arizona, including the Grand Canyon. They were not expected to return before September, giving her ample time to search for a suitable place to live.
Upon entering the men's apartment, Abigail was taken aback by its cleanliness. Jimin had gone the extra mile by changing the sheets and stocking the fridge with her favorite fruits and snacks. She knew her brother cared for her, but this was, even for him, a huge favor. That gave her time to look for a fitting place. Despite searching through various websites and going on several apartment tours, Abigail had no luck finding a suitable place to live.
Abigail was determined to take control of her life. She firmly believed that her thoughts and actions could shape her future, and she refused to leave anything to chance. But after two long weeks of struggling, she felt like giving up. The urge to quit was strong, but Abigail knew that she couldn't let herself be defeated. She had to keep pushing forward, no matter what. That task was more difficult than anticipated.
Abigail lay on the couch, her skin glistening with sweat as frustration overtook her. The faulty AC had left her at the mercy of the blazing heat for days. One leg hung over the back of the couch while the other dangled off the edge, her foot brushing against the floor. But amidst the oppressive heat, there was a silver lining. The ventilator beside the coffee table hummed reassuringly, providing a cool breeze that caressed her skin. Clad in a thin top and cotton shorts, Abigail was grateful for the slight relief she received.
She pressed the play button on her phone, and the audiobook continued in her headphones as she closed her eyes. It was a spicy romance, and she just got to the hotter part of the story. Abigail found more pleasure in listening and reading about sex in books. There, she could let herself go. The reality was less exciting than the stories that gave her the wildest imagination. Fantasies she would never voice out loud.

Jungkook and Taehyung were all set to embark on an exciting road trip to the Grand Canyon in their trusty VW bus, which they had lovingly transformed into a caravan with the help of their friend Jimin. But just when they were cruising along, their beloved Betty, Jungkook had lovingly named it, suddenly gave up on them, leaving them stranded in the middle of nowhere.
Jungkook's heart sank as he realized they were stranded without their lucky charm. They had spent countless hours, days, weeks, and dollars to transform the old bus into a comfortable caravan, and it had been their loyal companion for six long years. But now, it was gone, and they were left with nothing but memories.
Luckily, a group of girls picked them up and took them to the next city. They had fun and ensured the group would never forget them anytime soon. No numbers were exchanged. Just young people having casual fun without attachments and feelings. It's the way they wanted it, and all agreed to that. After two days of a roller-coaster ride of emotions, they flew back to Boston.
Tae could see the disappointment etched on Jungkook's face. "Come on, man, we'll find another one," he said, gently squeezing his friend's shoulder. They returned to their apartment, but the heat hit them like a brick wall as soon as they walked in. Living under the roof of an old seven-floored house meant that summers were unbearable without an AC, and winters were freezing if they didn't have a fireplace in the living room. Sometimes, the elevator refused to function, and they had to climb the stairs. Despite all that, Tae, Jungkook, and Jimin had grown to love their quirky little apartment.
As they stepped into the apartment, something felt off. It wasn't just the heat that made them uneasy. The air had a sweet smell, which seemed to clash with their manly scent mixed with the fresh cotton aroma from the air diffuser. The contrast was puzzling, to say the least.
Taehyung entered the room, removed his shoes, and placed their bags on the floor. Jungkook noticed something was off as his friend's body language shifted. Before Jungkook could even ask what was happening, Taehyung raised a hand to signal him to be quiet. Jungkook followed Taehyung's gaze and was amazed by what he saw - another heat wave hit him.
Abigail was lying on their couch, half-naked, her legs spread wide, giving an excellent view of wherever they weren't supposed to look. Her lady part was covered, but it was still a delicious sight. They had never seen her exposed. She always wore loose clothes that covered her skin and her figure.
But she was so beautiful to look at, and Jungkook couldn't, wouldn't, take his eyes off her. Her thighs were thick, just the way he liked it, and her tummy looked so soft and biteable. And the sight of her cleavage punched another strike. She wasn't wearing a bra under her top. Abigail had big boobs, something he would never guess if he hadn't seen her like this.
Her eyes were closed, and white headphones covered her ears. Abigail's hair differed from the other time they'd seen her—red hair tied in a messy bun on her head. An arm was lazily hanging down as her fingers touched the floor while the other arm rested under her breasts. It looked like she was asleep, but they could tell she wasn't. Abigail’s mouth was moving. Her tongue graced her lips slowly and moisturized them before she bit her bottom lip.
Jungkook noticed Taehyung's steps toward her, and he followed immediately. They stopped before the couch, and the details on her features heightened. Freckles covered her cheeks, throat, and shoulders; even a few were sprinkled on the tip of her nose and forehead. Abigail's honey skin glistened with sweat, and her clothes stuck onto her body. Taehyung shared a questioning look with Jungkook. ‘What should we do?’ Tae's eyes were asking, and Jungkook tilted his head closer to her.
He pulled at her headphones, and as soon as he lifted them, Abigail's eyes opened the exact second. Her whisky-colored eyes were wide and frantic. Turmoil and panic were written all over her face as she jumped up and climbed to the back of the couch. Her back pressed against the wall when she stood tall and in distress. She looked at them, asking for explanations.
But Taehyung was the first to break the silence, “What are you doing in our apartment?“ His voice was harsh and almost annoyed.
“Aren't you supposed to be in Arizona until September?” she asked shaky. Taehyung's face scrunched up in a frown, his jaw clenching as he took a sharp breath in. The air was thick with tension as he struggled to find the right words.
“I asked you first!” He growled through gritted teeth. Jungkook put a hand on his friend's shoulder. Tae shifted his gaze to him. Jungkook shook his head and gestured with his hand as if saying, ‘Calm down.’
The woman leaped off the sofa and frantically searched for her glasses. Her hands fumbled on the coffee table, desperately trying to grasp anything to help her see. When she finally found her glasses and quickly slid them onto her nose, she blinked a few times to adjust her eyes to the sight. And then, with a deep breath, she began to spill it all out. She told them how she got keys from Jimin, her frustrating apartment search, and the heart-wrenching moment when the AC gave up on her days ago.
Jungkook couldn't focus on anything else but Abigail. He scolded himself for feeling this way about his best friend's little sister, but she was just too captivating to ignore. Since she stepped inside their apartment weeks ago, he couldn't satisfy his curiosity about her. Abigail was never on his radar before - she was always Jimin's little sister and nothing else. But now, he wondered why she was so aloof with other people, including him and Tae. He always thought it was because she was an introvert and shy, but there was something else about her that he couldn't quite put his finger on.
He couldn't take his eyes off her. She was stunningly beautiful. He had never really noticed before, but there was something about her right now that had him completely mesmerized. Was it the way she was dressed? That tiny damned short and tight tank top was definitely doing something to his brain. Because Abigail looked so fucking delicious and his mind drifted to things he'd wanted to do with her, he wondered what she sounded like when he’d pushed into her and how she'd tasted like on his tongue when he'd make her cum with his mouth. He wanted to see her eyes without the thick glasses, though she was beautiful even with them on.
Jungkook's sudden approach caught Abigail off guard, causing her to step back until she hit the armchair. Confusion was written all over her face as she protested, "Wait, what are you doing?" But Jungkook didn't say a word. Instead, he carefully removed her glasses and held them between his thumb and index finger. Abigail blinked at him, her frown deepening as she struggled to see without her glasses. "Jungkook, I can't see anything without them!"
As he heard her calling out his name, a strange sensation stirred in his stomach. She hardly ever uttered his name or Tae's, usually preferring to use nicknames like "smart-ass" or "hey, you." But this time, as she stood before him without her glasses, he looked into her eyes for the first time. And boy, was he in for a surprise! Jungkook was captivated by the warm amber color of Abigail's almond eyes - it shone like pure gold in the sunlight. And, oh, that new wine-red hair of hers - it perfectly complemented her unique mixed ethnicity. It was true what they say - mixed ethnicities are always fascinating and one-of-a-kind!
Abigail's family was a unique blend of cultures. Her mother had a Scottish-German background, while her father was Korean-American. Interestingly, Abigail and her siblings have different genetic makeup, with her brother Jimin having more of the Korean-American DNA, her sister Elizabeth having more of the Korean-German side, and Abigail inheriting more of the Scottish touch, except for her striking almond-shaped eyes. It's fascinating how genetics can play out differently within one family!
"Hey, how about you stay here until Jimin comes back?" Jungkook suggested with a warm smile. "Tae and I could lend a hand in finding you the perfect apartment or room." He couldn't help but notice her delicate freckled skin and felt a sudden urge to touch her, but a gentle grip on his wrist from Taehyung reminded him that she wasn't comfortable with physical contact. Jungkook took a deep breath, trying to control his desire, and added, "We're here to help you with anything you need!"
