Introduction

"I'll be going to the gathering, all right?" Morningstem purred, licking Breezekit's head as he tried to duck. "You four be good!"
Grasskit jumped from paw to paw. "We will!"
Bladekit glared at Grasskit. "Liar! We all know you're planning to get out of camp when Eagleeyes isn't looking."
Grasskit hissed. "You promised you wouldn't tell anyone!" He bunched his haunches and leapt at Bladekit, and they ended up in a tussling kit bundle.
Morningstem pulled Bladekit and Grasskit away. "Stop that, you two!" She scolded. "Do you want to be apprentices or not?!"
Grasskit stepped away from Bladekit and sat down, grooming his chest fur. "He started it." Grasskit muttered.
Bladekit stood back up, his back fur bristling. Before he could say anything, Morningstem hushed them again.
"That's enough," She sighed, and glanced towards the exit of the camp, towards the leaving cats. "I need to go." Morningstem turned away and padded towards the rest of the Creekclan cats.
Breezekit smirked at nothing in particular.
As soon as Eagleeyes looks away, he thought, I'll sneak out and follow the cats who are going to the gathering. He may be called Eagleeyes, but he definitely doesn't have the eyes of an eagle.
Streamkit looked at Breezekit. "Are you ok?" Streamkit asked. "You're really quiet..."
"Yeah..." Breezekit nodded. Streamkit may have been blind, but she could somehow still read Breezekit's emotions, no matter what.
"You're not planning on sneaking out like Grasskit was, are you?" Streamkit asked.
"Maybe. Maybe not," Breezekit murmured quietly. "Why do you care?" His whiskers twitched anxiously. He didn't want his sister to stop him from going to the gathering.
Streamkit's blind eyes widened, but before she could say anything, Breezekit let out a sigh of relief. He could see Eagleeyes padding up to them.
"Hello!" Eagleeyes purred. "You kits all behaving yourselves?"
Grasskit nodded. "Of course! Don't we always?"
Jaysong, one of the elders, snorted as he passed by. "Considering how scatterbrained you bunch are, you don't behave yourselves."
Breezekit ignored the unfriendly comment and watched as Bladekit's fur pricked up.
Streamkit gave Bladekit a quick lick. "It's ok, ignore him." She murmured quietly as Bladekit forced it to lie down again.
Breezekit couldn't see Grasskit anywhere. He turned around in a circle, expecting to see Grasskit standing near him, but he didn't.
Suddenly, Breezekit heard a shrill squeak. Breezekit whirled around to see what had made the noise. He spotted Grasskit nearly on top of the thick wall separating the camp from the forest. Breezekit watched as Grasskit struggled to climb a narrow creeper that had grown onto the bramble wall.
"Help!" Grasskit shrieked as one paw slipped from the creeper.
"Grasskit!" Eagleeyes yelped, his eyes wide with fear as he raced towards the spot where Grasskit was hanging.
Suddenly, the creeper was torn away from the wall because of Grasskit's weight, and it gave way and crashed, along with Grasskit. Eagleeyes managed to land underneath the vine just as it hit the floor and Grasskit landed on Eagleeyes's face. Breezekit let out a sigh of relief as he saw both of the cats' flanks moving.
"What just happened?!" Streamkit yelped.
"Grasskit was on top of the bramble wall we have in camp, on a vine, and it fell, but Eagleeyes caught him," Breezekit replied. "But I think they're both ok." He assured his sister.
Streamkit sniffed the air quickly and ran over to Grasskit and Eagleeyes along with Bladekit as more cats gathered to watch the scene.
This is my chance to get away! Breezekit thought. He whisked around towards the exit of camp, where no cat was. He slipped out easily and trotted ahead, not sure where he was. He identified Morningstem's scent along with a bunch of other scents from his clan that he didn't know yet. Breezekit sniffed the air once or twice and padded after Morningstem's scent. An unwelcoming, strong wind sprung in between the trees, buffeting Breezekit's fur. Leaves swooped all around him as he could scent his mother's trail being blown away. He quickened his pace, struggling against the winds, yet somehow managing. He found himself deeper in the forest, where fortunately, there was more shelter from the chilly winds. His small paws treaded on the colorful fallen leaves. After he walked for a little bit, the trees started clearing out again. Breezekit could hear the rumbling of a nearby river, and soon enough, there it was. Dear Starclan, don't make me swim, he thought.
Breezekit sniffed along the river, following wherever it lead him. He spotted a few big rocks not too far away, and his eyes gleamed. This must be a path to cross the river! He trotted over to the stones and gingerly placed his paw on the first one. It didn't budge. Convinced that it wouldn't move, he leaped onto the stone, and on to the next one. The third stone, however, swayed under his paws. With a pang, he realized that the rock would topple any moment. Too paralyzed with fear, he didn't budge and the rock gave way, and the river swept Breezekit away with it. He let out a yelp as the raw, cold, water beat him up. Struggling to keep his head from going under, he spotted a heap of debris not too far away. In the midst of the debris, a big stick poked out and Breezekit got an idea. He steered himself to the left of the river, and grabbed onto the stick with his claws. From the weight, the stick dislodged itself a little from the debris, but Breezekit wouldn't give up. His eyes shone with determination and despite the fact that he was frozen to the bone, he kept struggling, reaching for the bank. He heaved with all his might, and somehow, he managed to pull himself onto the edge of the river. His fur was messy and in clumps, but he didn't mind. His limbs were stiff as he kept walking, and he shivered repeatedly as the wind shook and buffeted him. Just when he was about to give up, he heard talking.
Breezekit followed the noise, and came across a big clearing with many many cats, as well as a huge tree in the middle. I made it, He thought. I can't believe I made it!
He lay down in a corner where he hoped no one could see him, and sighed in relief as his muscles relaxed. From there, Breezekit could see Morningstem as well as their leader,
Breezekit shifted uneasily on the muddy ground. The gathering hadn't yet started, but fortunately no one had found him yet ;thanks to his dark pelt, he had hidden himself well in the shadows.
More cats piled into the clearing. Breezekit gagged at the scents of many cats. He was definitely not used to them, nor did he like them. He let out a huge yawn. It was past the time where he went to sleep, yet he had still taken up the challenge of sneaking to a gathering. Breezekit had always been a curious kitten, and it wouldn't be a surprise if his clan found it he was here.
His whiskers quivered in excitement as he watched a larger cat jump onto one of the branches of the big tree in the middle of the clearing. He stilled his breathing as the whole area was suddenly quit as the other leaders leaped onto the tree.
"Is he the one?" Someone whispered and Breezekit whipped around, his fur on end.
"Looks good to me." A cat darted out of a nearby bush, and before Breezekit could react, his world fell into empty darkness.

A/N: This is the prologue, Breezekit (probably) won't be the main character or anything.. this chapter will make more sense in the future *wink wink*!
