💚Love Poem- Goldric 💛

Unknown Number
Hey,
I got your number yesterday
And I don't know what to say
Other than that for you, I am gay ;)

Belos stared at his scroll in confusion. Who the hell was this random person?

Emperor Belos
Who are you, and how did you receive my number?

Unknown Number
We ran into each other yesterday and u gave me ur number

It must be one of the guards, after all, they were the only people Belos interacted with yesterday. However, he didn't recall giving out his number to any of them. He could interview all the Steves, but it would be too tedious and time consuming.

Just then, he saw Hunter walking by and had an idea. "Hunter! I have an important mission for you. It is the Titan's will that we discover which of the palace guards is responsible for wasting the time of the Titan by sending me idiotic text messages. You must discover which one of the Steves has the scroll number (xxx)-xxx-xxxx."

Hunter stood there for a second trying to comprehend what he was supposed to do. He didn't understand why this was so important to the Titan, but he wouldn't question his uncle. "Of course, Uncle. I'll get to work on it right away."

And so, Hunter spent the rest of his day interviewing every Steve he could find in the palace, but none of them had the scroll number or knew anyone with that scroll number. He kept trying for a few days until he had eventually asked everyone in the palace.

Sighing dejectedly, he decided to go into town. Maybe one of the guards there would know.

Unfortunately, he didn't find any more success with the city guards than he did with the palace ones. On his way back to the castle, he ran into a familiar witch with green hair, yellow eyes, and a mole under his right eye.

"Goldie! I'm still slightly surprised you responded to my texts, and I'm even more surprised that you agreed to a date. See you Saturday. My mom's waiting for me, so I gotta go. Bye!"

Hunter waved back in confusion. Date? What date? Hunter didn't text Edric. Edric must have texted someone else thinking it was him. Oh well. No time to think about whoever Edric thought he was texting. After all, Hunter's main concern right now should be solving the mystery that Belos gave him.

It was now Saturday, and Hunter still hadn't discovered who had been texting the Emperor. Maybe he should ask Belos to see the texts. He might be able to narrow down the list of suspects if he could figure out why type of messages the stranger was sending.

If he did that, maybe he could have time after solving the case today to meet with Edric and let him know that whoever he was texting wasn't Hunter. After all, Hunter didn't even have a scroll. He didn't understand why Edric even believed he had Hunter's number.

Suddenly, Hunter realized what an absolute moron he was.

The day before Belos assigned him this mission, Hunter had run into Edric while patrolling through Latissa.

The two of them had met a month ago when Hunter caught the Blight boy selling illegal fireworks. Since then, it seemed like Edric took every opportunity he had to annoy Hunter by constantly hanging around him whenever Hunter did patrols.

The last time Hunter ran into him (not including their short meeting where Edric reminded him of their date), Edric had asked for Hunter's number. He had panicked because he wanted to seem normal like other teenage witches, so he lied and said that he had a scroll number. The number he actually gave Edric was the Emperor's Coven's number, which was checked by Belos himself.

The more he thought about it, the more he realized that he needed to fix this situation as quickly as possible. If Edric said that whoever he was texting had agreed to a date, that meant that Belos would be leaving soon to meet with Edric.

Huber rushed to the throne room to try to convince Belos not to leave, but by the time he got there, the Emperor was already gone.

Ending it with a cliff hanger. There'll be a part 2 to this. I would have put it all in one chapter, but then, I wouldn't have had it finished today. I wanted to post something today because it's April Fool's Day, so why not write about Edric and Hunter being absolute fools.

This chapter was inspired by that one time that it's mentioned that Edric texted a love poem to his date's mom.

Also, I have a Goldric story called The Proposal, which was originally supposed to be a one shot for this book, but it got too long.

Happy April Fool's Day!!!
