Warm (Lucio x Cyborg! Reader)

Deformed. That's what you were. A badly wounded, deformed child living in the poor streets of Brazil alone.

Your parents had both died in a car accident several years before, you managed to live but at a cost. Horribly mangled and disfigured, nobody had the money to take care of you, so you started living on the streets.

You weave through the bustling streets, pushing your way through people. Clutched tightly in your hand was a tiny loaf of bread, one you had managed to steal from the best bakery in town.

It was a special treat to you to get anything other than scraps or trash to eat, so you treasured the small loaf.

Angry shouts rang out behind you, you could only make out a few curse words and "abominations" thrown your way.

Quickly you ducked in a nearby alley, waiting for fast footsteps and shouts to pass by.

You let out a long breath, chest heaving. With the permanent injuries and mangled body, stunts like escaping angry store owners was quite a feat for you.

Mumbling a few words of thanks you take a bite out of the bread, humming contently at its sweet flavor.

"Hey!" You jolt up at the sudden sound of a voice, you (e/c) eyes meeting with warm, chocolate ones.

Dropping your bread, you quickly scramble deeper into the corner, hiding from the boy. "Don't look at me!" You cry, covering your face with your hands, shaking.

The boy frowned, "Why not?" He asked, giving you a gentle look.

"I-I'm a monster!!" You cry, burrowing deeper into the corner, wanting to disappear.

The boy chuckled, picking up the abandoned bread and walking up to you, "You're not a monster, I think you look perfect!" He grinned, holding the bread out to you.

Slowly you look up, gingerly taking the bread from the boy. The boy studied you more as you timidly nibbled on the bread.

You look back at him, silence filling the space between the two of you for several minutes.

"I'm Lucio by the way!" The boy smiled holding out a hand, "what's your name?"

""(Y/N)." You answer softly, shyly taking his hand and shaking it.

"Nice to meet you (Y/N)!" Lucio grinned enthusiastically. You smile shyly.

The two of you started talking, talking about life, struggles, even about what kind of food you wanted to eat if you had the money to afford it. You told Lucio about your parents and the accident that had so badly deformed you, and Lucio told you his dreams about peace in the world.

The two of you became close friends, helping each other survive, supporting each other. Before you knew it, a few years had passed and  slowly Brazil was pulling itself out of poverty.

Lucio started making music which spread world wide. Now making money he could finally afford to fix you.

You fidget in your chair, the waiting room quiet except the slow jazz playing weakly through the small speaker.

You look over at Lucio, headphones on he was staring at his computer, working on his new song.

You let out a shaky sigh, clenching your badly deformed hands. You were finally going to be fixed. You were finally going to be able to move properly, to not be in pain. To be normal. Or as normal as a cyborg girl could be.

The first doctor had told you that after years of leaving your injuries be, that most of your body was unsalvageable so they were going to make you into a cyborg.

"Miss (l/n)?" At the sound of your voice being called you jump up, giving the woman a nervous smile.

Just then you felt Lucio grab your hand. You turn looking down at the sitting man, you inner turmoil written all over your face.

"Hey, good luck!" Lucio said, giving you a warm smile. You could only nod in response before following the doctor back.

                           *******

Slowly you open your ever, your entire body feeling weird. Everything felt so cold around you.

Slowly you sat up taking in your surroundings, you hear the doctor asking how you were feeling but you weren't really listening.

You couldn't feel anything, your body surrounded by a freezing nothingness. What had you done?! Sure this fixed you, but at what cost?! Tears started to well in your eyes, you couldn't think.

You could feel, you wanted to remember what warmth felt like but that memory already seemed to be slipping away.

Unable to take it anymore you ran out and as far as your legs legs could take you until you crashed into several people.

"Watch it freak!!" Shouted a man, grumbling curses under their breath. Stammering an apology you trip again, falling into the dirt.

You walk hopelessly around until you arrive at an alley that looked so familiar. You recognize it as the one where you had first met Lucio.

Lucio.....

What would he think of you now? Would he leave you? Think you were a freak like everyone else? You curl up into a corner, remembering Lucio.

                     >flashback<

"C'mon (y/n)!! Just a little further!!" Lucio grinned, waiting for you as you dragged yourself up the hill. He turned at ran the rest of the way to the top.

You groan, making your way to the top where you collapse next to him. "Are we done now?" You whimper.

Lucio laughed, before looking out, "(y/n), look!" He pointed.

Slowly you raise your head, out in the distance was the sunset, painting the sky in beautiful shades of orange and yellow, their warmth washing over the two of you.

"It's beautiful," you whisper softly.

                  >end flashback<

"(Y/n)!" You look up at the sound of your name, seeing Lucio running towards you, concern written all over his face.

He collapsed down next to you, pulling you into a deathly tight hug, biting his face in your metal neck.

"Don't ever run off like that again!" Lucio demanded, but the concern and sorrow in his voice was evident.

"Ok..." You mumble weakly, wrapping your arms around you. The world was cold around you, you couldn't feel anything. But you could feel Lucio. His warmth enveloping you in a loving way.

No matter what happened, Lucio had always been the warmth in your life.

"Thank you..." You whisper softly.

"For what?" Lucio asked, gently caressing the back of your head.

"For being so warm..." You spoke. You didn't need to say anything, you could tell Lucio had understood what you meant.

A/N: sorry this took so long, I've been kinda busy lately (not really busy, I just do things and forget to write), and I've been trying to catch up on sleep after recently going to bed at 1 or 2 in the morning. But I'm back now so I'll try to start consistently updating again. This story was requested by blackknight_1024, hope you enjoyed~
