Chapter 54
*************
It was morning, no doubt it was a sleepless night for Siddharth. Abhishek's words didn't leave his mind even for a second. His heart said not to do this but then his mind would take over his heart which was only beating for Avneet. Currently, Siddharth was sitting in someone's office waiting for someone. His mind was messed up, he was in dilemma. Abhishek's every word was continuously ringing in his mind. He didn't know what to do and what to not. Just then, a man in a black coat entered the office and sat on his seat in front of Siddharth. He took his pen and typed something on his laptop.
"Here are your papers Mr. Nigam." The lawyer spoke handing a file to Siddharth. Siddharth opened the file to see the divorce papers. He froze for a minute reading them. The lawyer glanced at him, understanding his situation.
"I would suggest you think once again Mr. Nigam because these decisions are sensitive and when they are done, nothing is left behind except regret." The lawyer advised exhaling a sharp breath. Siddharth looked at him blankly.
"Ashu, this is your life. In life, you can marry many times but not every marriage gives you peace and love. Suppose you divorce Avneet, will you be able to live without her? See Siddharth, this is your life but If I will find you doing something wrong I will instruct you. Lovelife gives you only one chance. Don't take any step which you might have to regret in the future." Abhishek's words echoed in his ears. Siddharth closed the file with a thud gulping his own saliva. He looked at the lawyer again.
"T-Thank you, Sir, I will deposit your fees in your account." Siddharth thanked the lawyer to which he just nodded. Siddharth stood up holding the papers tight and started walking towards the exit. A tornado of memories filled his mind as he walked toward his car. Avneet hugged him. At Avneet's birthday, he fed her cake, and their eye contact. Their first kiss, Avneet's first date with him. Everything.❣
He sat in his car exhaling sharply. He hit the steering wheel hard in frustration as tears leaked from his eyes.
"I-I wish, I-I wish I wouldn't have got shot that time and today I wouldn't be here giving you divorce like this. I wish I wouldn't, I wish I wouldn't." He yelled at first hitting the steering wheel hard but his tone became low and low as he ended. At last, he whispered as he pushed his head again the seat, closing his eyes while tears still flowed like a waterfall. Sometimes, some decisions give us such a hard time that we never have thought about.

"WHAT!!" Vaishnavi yelled in shock. Avneet who was sitting beside her held her coffee which was about to fall due to her yell. They both were sitting together in the lounge having coffee when Avneet told her something which was unbelievable.
"Be careful di!!" Instructed Avneet placing Vaishnavi's and her coffee on the table in front of them. Vaishnavi's eyes were still wide open. She held Avneet's wrist making her look at her.
"Wait! You aren't joking right?" Asked Vaishnavi raising her eyebrows. Avneet shook her head pouting. Vaishnavi's hand reached her mouth in shock.
"Oh my God! I-I am so happy for you Avneet. You should tell to Siddharth. He would be so happy." Vaishnavi suggested becoming overexcited. Avneet's smile fell as soon as he heard Siddharth's name.
"No di, he is already upset nowadays. I will tell him at the right time." Confirmed Avneet with a sad smile. Vaishnavi nodded in understanding.
"Well, I don't know about anyone else but I am so happy for you my sissy." Vaishnavi squeezed in happiness and hugged Avneet tightly. Avneet chuckled at her ethics hugging her back. Vaishnavi kissed Avneet's hair still hugging her like a teddy.
"Acha! Leave all this, you have to rest now. Let me lead you to your room." Advised Avneet breaking the hug still giggling. Vaishnavi frowned.
"For god sake Avneet, one Abhi is enough for me. Don't become like him. Just wait till evening, when he will come from the office he will not let me step out of the bed. Damn! You all will make be lazy like this. I am fine and I don't wanna rest." Denied Vaishnavi. Avneet understood why she was behaving like that, of course, pregnancy hormones aren't easy to handle. Avneet chuckled looking at her.
"Alright, don't take a rest but you have to finish these biscuits," Avneet spoke placing the plate of biscuits right in front of Vaishnavi. Vaishnavi rolled her eyes while Avneet handed her a biscuit. Vaishnavi started eating it.
"You know, I will decorate my baby's room like this," Vaishnavi spoke showing Avneet some room designs on her phone. She kept scrolling while Avneet keep giving her some ideas which she could add while Vaishnavi was listening to her munching her biscuits enjoying her company. They both talked for more than an hour enjoying each other's company.

It was 5 of the evening, and Siddharth was sitting on the sand leaning on the car watching the ocean in front of him. His expressions were blank, as dark as the sky. The shore's gentle voice wasn't calming him a bit. The one thing he could only feel was darkness all around him. He closed his eyes for a second.
"Am I doing right or not?" A thought stroke his mind.
"Shouldn't it be unfair with Avneet?" A question popped into his mind.
"No, no if I don't give her a divorce then it will be unfair to her." His subconscious mind spoke. He shook his head opening his eyes. He looked around when his eyes caught a couple with a 2-year-old kid in between them while they were holding the kid's hand. They were laughing, enjoying along with their kid. Siddharth's heart broke into pieces knowing the fact that he couldn't ever feel that moment but he didn't know that god has some other plans. He slowly stood up as his hair flew in the direction of the wind. He sat in his car silently driving it off.
***********
It was 11 of night, Siddharth slowly stepped inside the home. He saw no one in the hall and thought that everyone must have slept, but Nah. He had a bag in his hand and in that bag, he had divorce papers. He slowly started climbing the stairs. He glanced at his room to see its lights on. He exhaled sharply making himself strong. He opened the knob of the door to see the room empty. This confused him, he looked around to see no one there, even the balcony connected to his room was also empty.
"Avneet? Are you there?" Siddharth called her, no there was no response. He slowly walked towards his side table to put his bag when suddenly his eyes caught a file. It was on his table. He picked up the file glancing around. He opened the file and started reading it. His eyes popped out as soon as he read the file. The file was about to fall from his hand but he somehow caught it. He read it again and again but it didn't change. He wondered if he was hallucinating but no it was true. His eyes filled with tears. That's when he felt someone's presence behind him. He turned back to find Avneet with a charming smile and a fresh face. The time froze for him.
"Avneet, i-is it true? T-The thing I'm reading is true?" He asked stammering, afraid that she might say it was his hallucination. Avneet tip-topped closer to him. She stood on her toes leaning to his ear.
"It's true and congratulations to be a daddy!" She wished whispering in his ear. Her whispered, the news bought Siddharth back to life. He felt like he again started breathing like a living person. It was like he was in a nightmare for so many days but today this news woke him up from a nightmare bringing him to heaven.
"B-But how it is possible?" He asked whispering. Avneet started tousling his hair smiling, and humming songs. As soon as Siddharth whispered it, she traced her hand from his hair down to his eyes, her hands became wet due to his tears. Then down to the nose, and lips and then held his chin smiling.
"I told you right, have faith in god. Miracles also happen in this world only. This baby is also a miracle." Assured Avneet smiling, still holding his chin. Her smile and that words were enough for him, tears weren't stopping from his eyes while Avneet blinked her eyes nodding her head. Siddharth suddenly dragged her in a tight hug, wrapping his arms around her, digging his head in the core of her neck, sobbing badly. She also wrapped her arms around him closing her eyes as tears fell from her eyes. They stayed in that position for some time, feeling the moment. Avneet's fragrance helped him a lot to calm himself down. Avneet slowly wiped her tears before breaking the hug. Siddharth was still sobbing hard. Avneet's heart broke into pieces seeing him crying like that.
"I-Its impossible! I-I'm sorry!" He mumbled in between his sobs. Avneet cupped his cheeks wiping his tears.
"You won't cry from today. Promise me, no matter what happens but you won't cry." She ordered him in a stern voice.
"But I hurt you. What not I did?" He was cut off.
"You did nothing, you did nothing. Believe me! You didn't hurt me. You never." She ranged but at last, it came out like a whisper with tears. He looked up at her.
"I should get punishment. I hurt you. You shouldn't forgive me." He whispered calming himself down. Avneet smiled brightly at his suggestion. She made a thinking face. 🤔
"Your punishment is to bear me, my baby for your whole life." She assured keeping her hand on her belly. Siddharth smiled wiping his tears, keeping his hand above Avneet's hand which was on her belly.
"I accept it happily for my whole life." she smiled at his answer.
"Did you forgive me?" Siddharth asked and a frown formed on Avneet's forehead. She just nodded yes cupping his face.
"It wasn't your fault, everyone should have reacted in the same way as you did. The problem for which you were doing all this is resolved now. But?" She stopped highlighting the conjunction. Siddharth got concerned.
"You will take medicines on time because you were not well. You haven't slept peacefully for so many days and, you stress yourself a lot and you won't work after 7. Is it clear?" ordered Avneet as a strict principal. Siddharth nodded in fear like a 5-year-old student. Avneet chuckled and smiled brightly at his ethics and pulled his cheek squeezing. After a couple of days, Siddharth laughed. Siddharth held her through her waist making a concerned face.
"Is it really true right?" Asked Siddharth in a low voice, still not believing his ears. Avneet held the soft spot of her neck swearing.
"Promise, it is true," assured Avneet. Siddharth closed his eyes, leaning closer to her while she also leaned closer to him joining their foreheads with each other.
"I love you. I-I can't live without you. I know I did wrong, but please forget everything. Never leave me please!" whispered Siddharth confessing everything he had for a long time in his heart, Avneet smiled listening to him.
"Never!" she whispered back, still their foreheads were joined. That's when they heard a scream.
"Congratulations Guysss!" Abhishek and Vaishnavi screamed standing at the door. Avneet and Siddharth startled, parting their foreheads. They released a heavy breath as they got scared suddenly by their yell. Abhishek hugged Siddharth and Avneet, well he forgot Vaishnavi behind. Vaishnavi kicked her elbow on his arm showing him a mad expression.
"Oh, I forgot this drama woman. Come." Abhishek said pulling Vaishnavi also in a hug. Someone has said:-
