Unknown POV

As I walked from behind the forest, I noticed 5 people, two were familiar and the other three were two guys and a young girl. Before I could say anything, I was being wrestled by a walker, this one was strong. The young girl limped towards me, and shot the walker.

"Are you ok?" the girl asked

"Uh yeah I am, thanks!" I got up, I think she recognized my mask.

"Cry?" the girl asked, she was gobsmacked

"Yeah, that's me, I prefer Ryan though" I said, smiling a little, pulling the mask from my face.

"This has to be a dream!" the girl exclaimed. "I'm Ashley!"

"Nice to meet you!" I shook her hand. I walked over to Felix and Marzia and gave them a hug.

"Cry!" Felix exclaimed. "You seen Ken yet?"

"No I think he was visiting his family in Mississippi." I replied

"Oh crap!" Ashley shrieked "Is Mississippi in the south east?"

"Yeah it is, why?" I asked, confused.

"The south east is the most infected!!" Ashley looked extremely scared. "We have to help him!"

"How do you know it's the most infected?" I asked, innocently. Ashley showed me a crumpled note that they found in a walker's pocket.

"Ok! We need to go there!" I ordered.

"Then that's our goal." Felix stated, I'd always seen him as a natural leader. "Ken is a good friend of mine, and we're gonna help him!"
We all agreed to go to the south.

"Hi I'm Ryan." I greeted Ian and Anthony
"Hi, Nice to meet you!" they responded.

"Do you have a WORKING vehicle, Ryan?" Felix asked

"Yeah, I do, It's not mine, but it still works," I replied "Why do you say it like that?"

"Cause the last time we had a car we ended up crashing cause of faulty breaks, its also the reason why Ashley is limping, her leg is broken. We've had to carry her a few times, but she insisted she was fine!"

"Damn" I sighed

We continued walking, carrying our guns tightly.
"It's this way!" I pointed into the thick forest, "Follow me."

"Right behind you!" Felix grinned.

After about half an hour of walking, while finally came across a new-ish Range Rover, which was a little dirty. Luckily, the car had 7 seats, meaning that there would be one spare, I sat in the drivers seat, Ashley sat next to me, Felix was in the next row with Marzia, Ian and Anthony sat in the row behind them. There was one spare seat next to Felix. Maya was sitting on Marzia's lap and Edgar was sitting on Felix's lap.

I started the engine and drove off, Felix, Marzia, Ian and Anthony were already in a conversation. So that left me and Ashley to talk to each other.

"So..How did you find out about this mess?" I asked, paying attention to the road and checking my side mirrors.

"Well, they said on the news that there was an 'Outbreak' in the area, when I went to bed that night, I ended up waking up at around 4:30am to hear my Mom screaming," Ashley continued, "I helped her hold the door, but it slammed open, the next thing I knew, my Mom was being wrestled by a walker; I tried to help her, but she told me to save myself, her last words were 'I love you Ashley' and then she was bitten.." Ashley started to cry silently, I handed her a tissue and rubbed her back reassuringly.

"I'm sorry for bringing that up..." I sighed.

"No. It's ok, people need to know, but I've got you guys, so I know I'll be safe." Ashley smiled at me and I smiled back.

"Your probably one of the only ones, who know what I look like now!" I laughed, Ashley laughed too, her deep, dark brown hair, stayed in place, only up to her shoulders, her eyes were a subtle light blue and she had pale skin.

"What about....your Dad?" I asked, slowly.

"He passed away when I was 11, I do feel sad when I think about it, but I'm getting over it now..." Ashley sighed.

"Do you have siblings Ryan?" Ashley questioned.

"Yeah, I do actually, a little brother and an older sister." I replied, "Do you?"

"No, I'm an only child, it's actually really funny because my friends in high school, would always complain about their younger brothers and sisters, and I would always be that annoying girl and rub it in their face!" Ashley laughed, I laughed too.

In the distance, while I was driving, I spotted a grocery store. It seems to be clear of walkers, but you can never be too sure.

"Hey, there's a shop just down this road, might be a good place to look for supplies." I stated

"That would be a good place to venture, at least we could maybe stay there for a bit and take a break." Felix coughed a little, Marzia patted his back, "I'm ok."

"Good Idea!" Anthony replied, "We seriously need some fresh supplies."

"There might be some cough sweets and medicine, that could help us!" Ian suggested, he starting coughing too.

"Why are you guys coughing the most?" I asked innocently.

"In the accident, the car burst into flames, mine and Marzia's airbags went, but Felix and Ian were in there longer," Anthony continued, "We found out Ashley was still in there and me, Ian and Felix, went back to get her.."

"Damn! You've been through a lot!" I replied, driving closer to the shop.

Ashley's POV

Ryan continued driving until we got to the shop, we all exited the car and drew our weapons, we kept the pugs in the car to keep them safe. Felix and Ryan helped me get out the car, they gently placed me down, as I drew my pistol.

Ryan went in first, drawing his pistol ever so slowly, he cautiously opened the door and looked around, he beckoned us in, we checked for walkers down each isle, it seemed to be clear. We grabbed some food, drinks, some luxuries and so on.

"Guys!" I whispered "The cough medicine and cough sweets are over there," I pointed to the cabinet behind the counter.

Felix went to try and open the door for behind the counter. Locked.
"Crap!" Felix muttered

"Want me to go over the counter?" I whispered "I owe you guys."

"It might not be safe!" Ian and Felix whispered.

"Don't worry! I'll be fine!" I argued quietly, I ignored their moans and complaints.
I limped over the counter and unlocked the cabinet, I grabbed as many packs of medicine I could from the shelves, I passed the filled bag to Ian.

Before I could even limp back over the counter, a walker wrestled me to the ground.

"Ugh, Agh!" I moaned, desperately trying to keep the walker off me, I was losing energy, fast! My leg was hurting like hell! My leg gave away and....And...

"Fuck!" Ryan shrieked, Felix threw the silencer attachment, to him as he jumped over the counter, as fast as lightning, he fitted the silencer, grabbed the walker and pushed it aside, he quickly helped me up and shot the walker. He was breathing quickly, he looked at me.

"You....you ok?" He asked as he held me close. I was just up to his shoulders in height.

"Yeah.." I hugged him, "Thank you."

He gently helped me over the counter, as I dusted myself off, Ryan handed back Felix's silencer attachment.

"Thanks!" Ryan replied

"Your welcome!" Felix gave Ryan a manly hug.

"Lets get outta here before more show up!" Anthony suggested quickly.

We headed back to the car.
Even though I had made it out alive, I was still in shock, I'd never expected Ryan to be the one of the ones to save me.
I feel like I'm living a dream...
