Normal POV

Ashley looked behind her as she heard ice crack, Mark was surrounded by cracks, she was scared stiff.

"Ashley! You can help him! You're lighter than me!" Alexia shouted, but the look in her eyes were not filled with worry, they were filled with demand.
Hesitantly, Ashley listened to her, moving closer and closer to him. She ignored his plead to not help him.

"Don't! Stop it!" Mark tried to stop her but it was already too late.

"G-Grab my hand.." Ashley stuttered, reaching out. He grabbed her hand as she slowly pulled him away from the cracks, but as she pulled him away, Ashley moved backwards slightly, standing on the cracks. She looked down and before she could do anything, Ashley fell through the ice.

"AHHHH!" She screamed loudly, she tried to grab the icy ledge, but went under instantly.

"ASHLEY!" Ian and Ryan shouted, they ran all the way back onto the ice, they didn't care, Ashley was all that mattered to them.

"Shit! Where is she?!" Ryan shrieked, desperately looking through the icy water.

"It's too late!" Alexia screamed, trying to stop them verbally.

'SHUT YOUR DAMN MOUTH!" Ian yelled, looking into the water. 4 minutes later, they found her.

Ian quickly pulled her up, she was still breathing, but she was wheezing.

"Ashley! Are you okay?" Ian questioned desperately.

Ian's POV

I held Ashley and ran all the way back onto dry land, she was shivering in my arms, so I held her close to me, to keep her warm.

"Y-You're gonna be okay..." I stammered, staring at her scared light blue eyes.

"I-It's t-too l-late..." Ashley trembled, shaking in my arms.

"N-No it's not!" I stuttered, desperately trying to preserve body heat.

"D-Don't think l-like that...." Ryan stuttered, hiding his tears the best he could, which needless to say, wasn't very well; but no one could at this point. "Y-You'll survive.." He sounded sort of hesistant, but tried to stay hopeful.

"I-I'm s-scared I-Ian..." she whispered shakily. I was trying so badly to hold back tears of regret, but I couldn't, so by then, I had tears all over my face.

"D-Don't worry! Y-You'll be okay.." I kept saying, I was extremely determined to not lose Ashley. I took off her soaking icy coat and quickly put my jacket around her to try and keep her warm and dry.

"T-Thank y-you... f-for t-taking c-care o-of m-me..." Ashley wheezed, she was very cold in my arms, but my body heat couldn't help her at all, nor could my jacket. I looked up at the guys, Anthony was sobbing, but trying to hide his tears, Felix was desperately holding his tears back, Ryan had tears in his eyes that were threatening to fall and Mark was wiping and blinking a lot.

As I looked back down at Ashley, she felt lighter in my arms, she wasn't talking or even breathing, I couldn't feel her pulse and her eyes were still open; all source of life was drained from her body. She was... gone.

"N-No.....A-Ashley...D-Don't do this to me... I-I don't want you to die..." I cried, holding her body close to me, she died in my arms and there was no hope of her coming back alive. I carefully and gently shut her eyelids and held her close to me, feeling her ice-encrusted, pale skin on my warm hands...

"N-No..T-This can't be it.." Ryan mumbled, hiding his tears and wiping his eyes quickly.

"And my job is done!" Alexia smirked, staring at all of us.

"What the fuck are you on about?!" Felix yelled, anger exploding from his mouth.

"I'm a bandit, I killed her and barely had to do anything!" She laughed evilly, crossing her arms.

"You're a fucking cold-hearted evil bitch then!" Anthony glared at her, anger building up inside of him.

"Excuse me?!" Alexia turned to Anthony, disgust filled her voice.

"I said, you're a fucking cold-hearted evil bitch then!" Anthony repeated, glaring at her once again.

"More like a fucking psychopath!" Felix shook his head slowly and looked back at the now lifeless Ashley, laying in my arms.

Ryan had enough, he slowly took his pistol out and aimed it at the back of her head,shooting her instantly. "BANG!" He holstered his gun and cleared his throat.

"W-What do we do now?" He broke the eerily silence, wiping his eyes once more.

"We say our goodbyes.... and we're gonna have to go..." Anthony sighed, holding back more tears and wiping some with the back of his jacket sleeve. The rest of us guys nodded in agreement, we were hesistant, but we knew we had to.

Ashley's body lay peacefully in my arms, she was extremely light and her cut scars were slightly visible underneath my jacket I had put around her. A note appeared on the floor next to me, like it just warped right before my eyes, Anthony picked it up and read it aloud. A picture was attached too

Dear Everyone,

I knew my time was coming, my dad, my mum, my best friend, its all a chain. No one can stop it. Death is inevitable. Ian, you've been there for me, comforted me, cheered me up, saved me and I'm glad you were with me this whole time. Ryan, you saved me too, you helped me with my arm and was there when it mattered most, you cared about me and always knew how to make me smile. Felix, you were the first survivor I met, it was a shock to me, but I knew you cared, you protected me and taught me how to use a gun. Anthony, you've helped me a lot, the car crash wasn't your fault, you didnt hurt us, you didn't cause that to happen, you're not reason that many things have happened, sometimes they happen for a reason, my injuries are not your fault. You were always there to make me laugh. Mark, you helped me, I returned the favour, you're not reason that I am where I am right now, you cared about me too. Thank you, all of you, without you guys I wouldn't have ended up this far. You all cared about me. Even before the apocalypse, you guys saved me then too.
**I went through bullying, my parents divorce, stress and depression. But you guys, you wiped it away, when I found your videos, you helped me then. And I thank you for that, It was really nice to finally meet my idols. Thank you for everything and I'll never forget you all...

Ashley...

(**The second half of the note happened to me...)

The picture that was attached, was stuck onto the note; Ashley, Anthony, Ryan, Mark, Felix and I, were all in the photo. As of some sort of collage, but it looked like one whole photo. As Anthony read Ashley's name out at the bottom of the letter, he smiled slightly, wiping tears from his cheeks. All of us smiled looked up, thinking about Ashley.

"That's her way of saying goodbye.." Felix muttered, smirking and looking at the note in Anthony's hand, along with Ryan and Mark.

"We should keep that letter and the photo.. As a way of remembering her.." I sighed and smiled very slightly. I gently lay her body down, wiping my eyes again. "It was nice meeting you Ashley..." I whispered, moving her hair out of her face. I felt like I had lost a younger sister, she mean't so much to me, but I'm going to stay strong, for Ashley's sake.. I will keep my promise to her..

~Flashback~

(This was the night after they found Ian)

I was on watch shift that night, when Ashley awoke and sat next to me, laying on my side. I put my arm around her.

"You should be asleep!" I whispered, smirking and looking at her bright blue eyes.

Ashley laughed quietly and looked up at me. "I'm glad you're back Ian.."

"Me too." I smiled, she felt like a little sister to me, I keep saying it, but its true.

"Promise me....that if I do die.... you'll never forget me.." Ashley looked up at my eyes, we instantly locked eye contact.

"I promise....I will never forget you.." I smirked and pulled her in for a hug, "You'll be safe in my arms, you remember that."

"I will." Ashley whispered, smiling at me and leaning on my side once again. After around 5 minutes, she fell asleep, I smirked as her head rested on my side...

~End of Flashback~

As we walked away, the air started to become colder, we walked up and past the hills. A young girl, who looked to be 16 years old, was desperately trying to move away from walkers, she looked scared and didn't know what to do. She had auburn hair and dark green eyes, she tried hitting the walkers with a wooden plank.

"We need to help her!" Anthony looked across at all of us, "We've already seen Ashley die, and I'll be damned if I'll let that happen to someone else."
We all looked at each other and nodded, running towards the girl...
